Which competitors are we talking about? I think it's fair to talk about price bracket competition. GSX8R or Standard Hornet 1000? Hmm... 😂😂😂 Rs660 or Hornet SP? Hmm... 😂😂😂 Z900 or Hornet? I'd still take the Hornet. Street Triple R or Hornet SP? I think the R is half decent value and probably wins on apparent build quality detailing, but you'd have be very enamoured with the idea of revving the nuts off a bike to take the triple compared to the stomping mid range the Hornet surely must have. I'd take the Hornet every time. Standard Mt09 vs Hornet SP? Here's where I think there's maybe a little bit of real competition. It's arguable whether you could make much use of the extra 30hp on the road and we all know the Yam has a fantastic midrange, which is obviously what matters in the real world. I might have trouble picking between these 2. KTM anything vs Hornet? 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 The price of this is making all the other brands look very silly at this point.
I bought a Suzuki gsxs 1000s for the simple reason I wanted to have fun on a bike, without the ridiculous price that’s being asked for a 200 + bhp bike.. great that Honda have brought this bike out.
This is incredible. Hopefully this will make people realize not everything needs to be 250hp scalpel to ride on the road, and not everything needs every last bit of redundant tech that just racks up the price to 18k. Great review as always Michael!
Max horsepower is irrelevant. It’s evening in between that makes a difference. I’m sure this bike will be loved… especially after some tuning. Tires are crap. Put some s22 or 23 Bridgestone and enjoy
It's up there. Up where you won't access most of the time. And per dyno sessions, we've long since realized manufacturers restrict full power until like 3rd or 4th gears.

In the same boat. I have had '14 model for now 5 years and no matter what other bike I ride I get to CB and am always reminded how great it is. There are more powerful, and sexier bikes out there, but CB with it's simplicity and goodness always deliver. With new model, improvement in my view, I am tempted to upgrade, but I know I won't because mine is just so damn good and I don't want to leave it...just yet. Maybe 5 or 10 more years.
Thank you Michael for another great review. Delivered clearly and without distracting 'background music'. As someone who hard of hearing i can't thank you enough.
This bike is a game changer. Make no mistake about it. The reports coming in are glowing. It makes many of the others seem well overpriced. The handling and usable power of the Hornet seem incredible for the price. This will hit sales of MT 09's, MT10's Triumph's 765's, KTM 990's, Suzi GSX-S 1000's etc hard.Well done Honda.
I have the first gen CB1000R (2008-2016) and have had it for quite a few years at this point. With a dyno tune it is a lovely bike and still very capable even without any electronic rider aids. The only problem is that it refuses to give up. It just goes year after year with only basic maintenance. It makes it hard to justify swapping out such a good quality product. This new Hornet seems like just as much a banger. Only thing missing is a sweet single-sided swingarm!
Yeah, I have the same gen (2011) and I love it- easy to ride and fast as hell. The only downside is being hunched over a spot bike, so something tells me that one of these new Hornets will be in my future, if Honda brings them to the US.
@@scottygdaman there is a video here by 44teeth where they supercharged it to give it 230bhp and race with Ducati Streetfighter V4S (currently fastest street bike) and it did quite well.

Honda has absolutely knocked it out of the park. Great to see Honda making proper fun machines again. The CB1000R was a really cool bike for sure but it just looked a bit lacklustre compared to the competition. I do hope they put a simple one button cruise control onto this bike though. Also that rear seat is useless. My GF would not be happy if I bought this bike because she likes to come on rides with me and this back seat looks like an afterthought. They spent more time worrying about whether it looks like the tail end of a hornet and less time worrying about weather it will be comfy to sit on. Also I saw in another review that the TC is very aggressive and cuts power way too much and for way too long. I have a 2022 CB650R that I just bought in February discounted but brand new and still loving it. Made some modifications such as a tune, Akrapovic exhaust, QS, quicker throttle tube, new grips, radiator guard, better tyres and I still have some learning to do before I'm ready to upgrade to a CB1000 Hornet but given the features, spec, price and legendary Honda reliability, this is at the top of my list for an upgrade in a couple of years. I just hope I can do something about that rear seat because if it's not comfortable for my GF then I might have to look elsewhere.

@Bob-ts2tu I am looking at getting an off road bike so I can ride some of the TET with my brother in 2025... I want a honda crf 300. But not sure I can raise the funds in time for one of those.
Loved my 06 Fireblade but the riding position was never that great for inter-city commuting so got rid. This looks awesome, sounds awesome, is priced well compared to the competition. It will be fun and undoubtably reliable so I'd definitely consider this.
I had both 600 and 900 hornets great comfy bikes. In August 1999 I rode from Southampton to mid Cornwall in under two hours to watch the Solar Eclipse no aches or pains
Neevesy doing bike reviews is simply ear candy… To this day you never disappoint I could listen to you talk bikes or doing a bike tech talk any day any week 👌🏻 Yeah I am subscriber of the other channel too 😁
Thanks MCN/Neevesy for giving us an actual mini-review from this launch and not just rushing to get a video out for clicks. And for making the case for cruise control on this type of bike! Yamaha and Kawasaki have the right idea with cruise control as standard the MT-09 and Z900. Hope Honda and the others are listening.
Great review as always Neeves. I just seem to hang on every word when you do a bike review. I have an 8R which I love love. It's perfect for me. With that, I will test ride this Hornet to see if I really need the extra power and whatever other niceties it brings. I'm thinking the 8R will still be enough for my riding ability. Thanks again!
I’d be amazed if I don’t have one of these by the summer! I have a 2001 zx12r I barely use (I just love it) and an old 2002 hornet 900 that gets used constantly and it never fails, this new one looks great, the price is great, you know it’s gonna be reliable and it looks great fun too. Just needs a pretty pipe and the number plate moving back 12foot and its done!
Got my test in January so hope I can spend a year riding a regular bike and then pick up one of these pre reg on some finance. Absolutely amazing deal.
€13,000 here in Spain 😩 Although Honda here often makes VERY good promotions. I got my 750 Hornet with about €2200 in discounts from maintenance and insurance. We'll see. Great review Michael, looking forward to a more extended one when you get it in the UK. Cheers!
10300 for normal, and 12k€ for the SP in Germany, probably depends on the taxes. I know that's not easy but wait for the end of the next summer and you'll be able to get one on a good deal for sure.
I put my order in before Christmas, never seen a bike so affordable and with such emphatic reviews from trusted roadtesters such as Neevsy and Al Fagan.
Honda made a movement like Yamaha in 2014 when released the MT07. less than 10k for 155hp naked bike, good. I am curious what the opponents will do to attract customers to their bikes.
The fact that Honda are giving so much for such a good price does make me think purchasing this bike should be a priority for bikers to reward the manufacturer for making such a bike that will be accessible to more people.
Reward Honda for making cheaper bikes? The only reason Honda are making their bikes cheaper/ more affordable is because the competition from Chinese motorcycle manufacturers The Chinese are doing what the Japanese motorcycle manufacturers did to the British motorcycle manufacturers back in the 1970s !
@Gmac237 Get what you are saying but they should have the sales/financial reward for producing a bike like this that is accessible to the motorcycle enthusiast that is just a normal working person trying to get together the money for a great bike. Yes the Japanese did pretty much finish off the British motorcycle industry but it was shite anyway and responsible for its own demise ! Probably the most important point which I hadn't thought about which gives even bigger praise to Honda is trying to prevent market share loss to Chinese companies, if they can do that its a dream come true for me ! But as you say maybe I should be thanking the Chinese bike industry and the threat they pose for Honda producing this excellent value motorcycle.
@reenachauriya4931 I think you need to look at the bigger picture and not take the comments to be just motorcycle model specific but more along the lines of a preemptive move to eliminate the risk of market share loss because Chinese motorcycles will cover every segment of the market pretty soon.
I hope this bike comes to Brazil! I own a BMW S1000R 2021 but had one Hornet 600 in 2013 to 2016 and had nothing but joy. Plz Honda bring this bike to Brazil!!!
I did all my training on a Honda CB650R, and I remember thinking what a well planted bike it was when I first went out for a ride on one. I've just purchased a 2024 Triumph Speed Twin 1200, but I wouldn't say no to a Honda CB1000 Hornet SP. Not only is it a bit of a bargain for the price, but it also looks like a cracking bike. Well done Honda, and without doubt it's one of the contenders for bike of the year. 👍
I ride a 2021 Honda CB 1000 black edition and I swear man I don’t see any naked bike that looks better than mine and I don’t give a damn about a few horsepower. My bike is incredible and it’s pretty much you know the hornets best body you know I’m just soexcited to get on it and when the weather gets better… I really think the Honda CB 1000 is just overlooked because of some engines that are a little more powerful. I’m thinking it’s way overlooked. Nobody rides him in America where I am. I feel like I’ve got a little secret when I’m writing this thing that really nobody knows.
9:24 " Officer, i was just learning about the engine and balance of my bike....." Neevsey suggested it..😂😂 Fab review as always Sir, looks like a great bike at a good price.
I think Honda recognised where the market is in relation to sales and new bike prices and acted accordingly and produced a great bike that's affordable. The the SP looks like the 1 to buy, but only having 1 colour in the SP is a bit of a deal breaker for me. Nice bike, great review as always.
Awesome, I had a good feeling about this bike . Nice to get it right , I with will be looking for a test ride when available. Thanks for a pre Christmas great review with positive vibes 🎉.
Good review Neevisy straight to the point this bike will sell well myself a honda fan a lot off bike for the money and been a honda it will be wright and last a long time as you said in the clip other bikes are almost double the price .
Thank you man for the good, honest and modest dependable reviews!! I think that the situation with the unattainable, "exclusive" super expensive european bikes is simply unacceptable. I love, honest, good value for money bikes like this.
When you get a review like this from Neeves you can bet on it. The question will now be if Honda can build them fast enough in numbers to meet what should be the high demand. Have not read a bad review from any tester yet from the UK. The other Brands had better have something coming to try an equal this or they will be sitting on a lot of leftovers next year..
Kudos to Honda for making this bike. The Hornet has always been a fantastic bike. The 919 was a fantastic all arounder, and this bike looks to continue that tradition. It reminds me of Kawasaki's Z1000, which is unfortunately no longer sold in the USA. Having owned both the Z1000 and Z900, I believe that Kawasaki duped the public into thinking the Z900 was the better machine...
Haven’t gone near Hondas since my first bike in 2009 which was the Hornet 600. I’ve found their bikes soulless since then….until….this!! Jeez what a great looking bike! And for £10k, that’s crazy! It’s going to be a game changer for Honda!
Great video- Another stunning machine from Honda and set for massive sales. They know their bikers and are incredible about holding their market share. Ducati I love and Harley - they make it difficult for the average waged biker. Go Honda!!
Yeah I'm a little disappointed the sp currently only has the matte black. I had an old cb600f hornet from 2004. And that was orange. I want more flare. More colpur options please honda.

Neevesy doing bike reviews is simply ear candy… To this day you never disappoint I could listen to you talk bikes or doing a bike tech talk any day any week 👌🏻
Yeah I am subscriber of the other channel too 😁
Great to see a different option in the naked bike segment. Top review by the best in the business Neevsey
Michael great like always. I just love u watching yours reviews.
Thanks man.
Wow, coming from you, this is quite the headline Neevsey. I wish Honda would bring more Motos like this and the NT1100to the US
So overall a very well engineered bike without any electronic gimmicks..... old school charm where the rider is in control
Reminds me of the 07 street triple 675 , better than the price would lead you to believe , Honda raise the bar 🙏🙏🙏🙏👏👏👏👏
Fantastic review as always Mr Neeves and the only reason why I subscrib to MCN really
Looks a goodie! Thanks on the review your opinion is invaluable, as ever 👏
The Honda is a class act! So are you Mr. A great review . Thanks.
Wonderfully, articulate review. Thank you.
Great video guys, as always appreciate the honesty in these reviews.
€13,000 here in Spain 😩
Although Honda here often makes VERY good promotions. I got my 750 Hornet with about €2200 in discounts from maintenance and insurance. We'll see.
Great review Michael, looking forward to a more extended one when you get it in the UK. Cheers!
I'm talking about the SP, price for the regular one is €11,000
10300 for normal, and 12k€ for the SP in Germany, probably depends on the taxes. I know that's not easy but wait for the end of the next summer and you'll be able to get one on a good deal for sure.
What an excellent review!
I put my order in before Christmas, never seen a bike so affordable and with such emphatic reviews from trusted roadtesters such as Neevsy and Al Fagan.
Awesome review! Loved the details the Honda engineers/techs shared and great b-roll to complement
Honda always make their naked bikes look the same. I'd love to see them change their style . However, great to see they kept a budget price.
@Gmac237
Get what you are saying but they should have the sales/financial reward for producing a bike like this that is accessible to the motorcycle enthusiast that is just a normal working person trying to get together the money for a great bike.
But as you say maybe I should be thanking the Chinese bike industry and the threat they pose for Honda producing this excellent value
motorcycle.
The Chinese are not even in this segment, I don't remember them making a 1000cc sports naked
@reenachauriya4931
I think you need to look at the bigger picture and not take the comments to be just motorcycle model specific but more along the lines of a preemptive move to eliminate the risk of market share loss because Chinese motorcycles will cover every segment of the market pretty soon.
I hope this bike comes to Brazil! I own a BMW S1000R 2021 but had one Hornet 600 in 2013 to 2016 and had nothing but joy. Plz Honda bring this bike to Brazil!!!
Was keeping eye on this bike as a owner of a cb1000r 21 plate. I certainly taken notice now 👌👌
Finaly! I cant believe with so much technology and experience manufacturers can’t build value bikes like this. Finally, Honda is doing it.
I thought that exhaust can was a pannier.
If it was, you would get plenty in it
😂😂 It's hideous.
Yep. That would be replaced immediately.
yep ! 25 litres minimum 😂
Reminds me of 2017 Suzuki GSXR 1000 exhaust with that water tank designed exhaust end can 😂
I ride a 2021 Honda CB 1000 black edition and I swear man I don’t see any naked bike that looks better than mine and I don’t give a damn about a few horsepower. My bike is incredible and it’s pretty much you know the hornets best body you know I’m just soexcited to get on it and when the weather gets better…
I really think the Honda CB 1000 is just overlooked because of some engines that are a little more powerful. I’m thinking it’s way overlooked. Nobody rides him in America where I am. I feel like I’ve got a little secret when I’m writing this thing that really nobody knows.
Well done Honda hope you sell truck loads of them.
Why didn't they build this ten years ago instead of the watered down CB1000R?
9:24 " Officer, i was just learning about the engine and balance of my bike....." Neevsey suggested it..😂😂
Fab review as always Sir, looks like a great bike at a good price.
well said 100 bhp is all you can use on the road ,no matter what the bike cost or how much power it has...
The Hornet 1000 review I've been really looking forward to. Thank you, Honda, for bringing us an exciting bike at a fantastic price.
Thank you man for the good, honest and modest dependable reviews!!
I think that the situation with the unattainable, "exclusive" super expensive european bikes is simply unacceptable. I love, honest, good value for money bikes like this.
1:06 oh dear lord 😮 look at the size of that can... Euro 5 you have a lot to answer for 😂
For wasting material to go to the junk yard😂
The UK motorcycle scene needs this bike at this price point. Honda will sell this by the bucketload and deservedly so. Your move Triumph.
I’m so tempted by this.. £112 a month on finance.. nice exhaust and an ecu flash and job done
Hyperhornetking👍
Don't make this any easier to buy lol 😆
Insurance please
@@BeijaminRebelo$1,000,000 probably 🤣
112? With what downpayment, 50%?
The exhaust looks enormous but I suppose with that fixed and a tail tidy on it will look amazing.
Well done to Honda for producing high quality reliable bikes at great prices that are possible for most people to get.You can't beat Japanese bikes
Really articulated review. Thanks a ton.
Nice review now if only Honda will bring the Hornet series to the US?? Probably raise the prices by 20- 30% when they do
I was REALLY waiting for your review on this bike, since you are one that I trust!!
In which part of Spain did this drive test was filmed?
I believe it was near Benidorm. (Another reviewer said)
Honda Hornet is back 🤟🤟😍😍😍
They nailed this bike 😊
Great video
Kudos to Honda for making this bike. The Hornet has always been a fantastic bike. The 919 was a fantastic all arounder, and this bike looks to continue that tradition. It reminds me of Kawasaki's Z1000, which is unfortunately no longer sold in the USA. Having owned both the Z1000 and Z900, I believe that Kawasaki duped the public into thinking the Z900 was the better machine...
Grateful review ,this could well be my nxt ride
You cannot beat a M Neeves review of anything 👍🍻🏁
Now if this guy says it’s good it is good! This man’s opinion is as good as it gets not like all the pretend plastic other boys and girls on u tube.
Well done. Honda nailed it.
Always excellent work. Thank you.
That’s a great bike and super value for money compared to the competition! Only thing for me is the bulbous exhaust would have to go! 👍🏻👌🏻
Go Honda!!
My next bike, thanks 👍
I’ll buy one in the next 5 years cheap from someone who has put it through all the services. Enjoy it fellas.
Can’t wait to take one out on test 🙌
Hats off to Honda for doing this… can’t argue with that £ vs what it’s like. So great to hear
Definitely want one. Shame the SP doesn't come in the red of the standard model.
Yeah I'm a little disappointed the sp currently only has the matte black. I had an old cb600f hornet from 2004. And that was orange. I want more flare. More colpur options please honda.
Honda is the master at making user-friendly performance motorcycles! A confidence inspiring machine is a fast machine. Cheers!
If i had the cash, and i didn't already have a new Street Triple 765 RS from last year, i'd pre-order one right now. Looks and sounds amazing. If it rides as well as Every reviewer says, it'll be the new benchmark for 1000cc nakeds for the future.
Great video as usual. I'm really intrigued to compare it with the MT10.
