She was not allowed to transfer the name to a different location due to conditions of the sale, which is my understanding, so she just slapped her name to the front of it and called it a day.
The weight without driver is 2315 KG according to their website, around 5090 burger pounds. The Pilot Sport 4s is a pretty loud tire in wide configurations, I suggest a different, less sporty tire will take a lot of road noise away.
@ well they did update the PS4s to be fair, hence the oem spec of the tire. And even after all those years it‘s still a pretty good tire. Problem is that the PSS5 is just as loud if not more, but I believe handles weight less good.

I drove one 3 months ago and 90% of the time it's a 320d with noisier tyres. Stupid fast, obviously, but on a public road just "going faster" isn't fun whatsoever. On track it's probably great, but the F series cars on public roads felt far more agile and exciting! The G80 isn't "bad" to drive, far from it, but it's definitely less fun.

According to the German website, the EU model weighs around 2.390kg/ 5.269lbs (empty). I suspect that the weight for other markets will not differ greatly.

I had a 2011 CLS 500 (CLS 550 in the US) and that was how a luxury express should be. Supremely comfortable, more than good enough handling for a spirited run in the mountains and decent economy on the open road. Being 500kgs lighter than this E53 has to help in that. Mercedes still has lost their way in my view.

I don't know any YT channel near the (well-deserved) success of Throttle House which spends even remotely as much time worrying about which sub-channel or format or whatever a particular video sorts under. The taillights are AWFUL..In picture and in person. The previous gen facelift ones were much better The interior was better too. And lighter. The new one is more complicated, more complex, heavier, will cost more to maintain and will break down sooner. Yay
honestly the W213 already had electrical problems with the infotainment, as I gathered from an owner. Not sure if adding 10% of tech will change anything. They have all been very complex, since like 2015. The rest you are mentioning is purely subjective
I live in southern Africa and alot of the cars where I live are new Ford Rangers and the new Toyota hilux and they're just so big now, when you see either a hulix or ranger that's only one generation older it's night and day, I really hope one day soon these big manufacturers just take a step back and start making cars smaller in every way
My concern with the heavy boosted 4 and 6 bangers is long term. Like the 2015 CVTs that are experiencing issues, my worry is that these (and any other small displacement boosted 4cyl) won't last long before requiring a full rebuild. Being inline, this may be ok.
@@jhfreeman Yeah, that's not a surefire good thing. And remember: Were the emissions/CAFE landscape what it was 15 years ago, this trim would be a non-AMG V8 (like an E500) - and that's better than this.
Looking at how well BMW B58's have held up over the years even with tuning, I'm not too worried about this either. People tune the previous-gen 53's without many issues so they hold power just fine. The inline-4's maybe though. I'm more worried about the tech around the motor than the motor itself.
@@rufatkupa4848 This motor has been out for years, just not with a hybrid powertain. Its held up well. If anything the EV element is taking stress off the motor.
In America there are two different types of Altima. There’s that one in the video and then there’s the other one that’s missing a bumper doing 120mph on the high way. 😂😂
You could always option the E53 with the stock wheels, its really quiet when you want it to be, and it still looks nice IMO. Also, the tires you were on looked a but harshly used, especially the fronts. You could go for something less sporty, and I bet it would be better. The new E class is generally very soft and quiet, much more S class like than before. I cant say I have driven the E53 a lot, but the tiny bit I have, it feels too soft for my liking.

You want to eliminate the road noise ? Get rid of the run flats tires and install your favorite regulars radial Continentals or Michelins or Pirelli. Trust me, that’s what I did to my S500 and it’s a 30 % improvement on smoothness and reduces road noise dramatically.
Speaking of heavy vehicles, I would love to see the two of you test and review a newer Ford F450 6.7 diesel truck. Preferably tuned and deleted (but not in CA) but stock is still mind blowing. I would love to see your reaction to the insane torque and raw power of such a heavy vehicle! I've recently started working with my brother and now have an F350 work truck that rarely encounters another vehicle that is faster, it's crazy fast! Try one out, if your impressed make us a video! Almost. The chrome black accents are a different hue compared the piano black elements in the interior or the black side window strips. They are not as dark and shimmer a little.
In the good old days, this 53 used to be the top of the regular line V8 model. It was not pushed so hard to become a diluted AMG, but was delicately made as a concentrated E-Class. That was the correct recipe.

This seems like one of the better performance saloons out right now. This interior seem comparably better to BMW and Audi's new stuff and better than the S63 aswell. Granted it's full of touch screens, but they're integrated well into the dash and there's almost no Piano black. Extra points for the way it drives too.
I saw the E class last year in Essen Germany it was the T model or Wagon whatever you want to call it and its such an elegant look. Sadly couldn’t test drive it so i’ve been waiting on an in depth review. Hopefully it’ll match the previous gen E class!
My new E53 in the UK is very quiet road noise wise ? Do North American spec cars include acoustic glass option? My cars on 20 inch wheels not 21. Still running in but very pleased so far.
It's a genuinely good-looking Mercedes and the sporty interior is remarkably gorgeous! My favorite AMG by far and I don't need the madness of the V8 E63 when I have comfort and a relaxing 6-cylinder engine in this new E 53
This is a really important review for the E53, the sheer amount of Merc fans paying attention to the driving dynamics, weight, ride quality, etc is insane 🙌

I think that reviewing the Mercedes brand, with all of them looking alike, is boring. Sure they're fast and heavy, but that, to me is not the definition of a sports car. Porsche yes, as I used to own a 997, but every week I see the guys standing in front of a Mercedes. Come on, let's do something else for a change. What happened to some of the off road stuff you used to do? Except for the review of the Land Cruiser, which I enjoyed immensely, there hasn't been much. Mercedes just refreshed their entire lineup over the last year so they’ve got lots of new cars. In their last 17 videos there has been 2 Porsche reviews and BMW has been in 5 so it’s not like they aren’t getting coverage.
Mercedes actually has two different tire pressure specs, for partial and max load. The sticker on the door sill only lists the max load spec, while the sticker inside the fuel flap lists all the necessary pressures for the vehicle.
I wanna gather BMW and Mercedes designers togethers in one place and make a full check over their bodies and check the temperature and at the end ask them what the hell are you thinking when doing the design of newest cars.... And you two the S63 inside looks better than this EOS or whatever it is called. God damn it, now let`s see what Audi brings this year. If they fail I will switch my love to Kia and Cupra honestly.

Listen, I’m not purposely a bmw fan boy, but from a base 10 year old 328i, to a brand new x5m, they just drive better than anything. They just do. The ride, the steering, the comfort, the interior’s quality feel, the heads up display, I mean everything just comes together so good to bring you; The Ultimate Driving Experience. That saying is not a lie. Every time I get in any other car, it may feel nice, but it’s never a BMW.
It's completely different. Love the M4, but no bmw feels as luxurious as my S class. And until this current generation BMW interiors were lacking. they've always been great handling cars especially if you're a spirited driver, but that type of driving and stiff suspension isn't for everyone or every road. If you have 0 interest in spirited driving, like my old father, bmw simply doesn't feel as nice to drive
Got mine here in Finland last day of year 2024 :) Went without the dark chrome as I like the normal chrome and the style of sporty mixed with business style, if that makes sense as a description. I I feel that with the white colors the dark chrome/etc just doesnt as look as good as the normal chrome. Also the exhaust tips blends with the rest of the car and becomes invisible. Also the rims I got are the silver version of this videos 21 inch rims so have to wait for the winter to be over before I can get to test the car with them. It is my first Mercedes and it is also my first poweful car. It is sad that the highest end AMG here in Finland are simply just so expensive that I do not want to spend that much money on a car. The reason this was "cheaper" and within my price range is the fact that it is a hybrid. The tax portion of the price was only around 4,1k€. (starting price with tax is already 121k€) To compare for example the AMG GT 4 door 43 models taves are already something like 60k€ while the 63 models are about 90k€ Not too fond of the EU regulations either that are bringing the exhaust sounds down. I was looking at a C43 years ago and I feel they were louder on idle than this car is while revving. Taking it slow in the winter and at the start now. Cant wait for spring/summer to come :)
I don't think that has gone anywhere, these are just where throttle house extra episodes go now. The long format funny skits videos are just saved for special vehicles or ones they feel they need to go into far more detail on. Like maybe comparison videos. They said it themselves in the intro, the express videos allow them to spend more time on "other projects" like in depth reviews, and road trips. I think they have like a cheap car challenge coming up.
Its a cool car, but to see an AMG with this price tag, a 3.0 L powerplant, and hauling well over 4000 pounds around, just doesn't sit right with me. Im glad they are still pumping out good horsepower figures though.
Work for Mercedes, driven the car around 1000 miles now. It’s… not an AMG. It’s a luxury car with performance. It’s fast in a straight line, it sounds… ok… but it feels so heavy and awkward to drive. It just feels like the AMG name/brand has been extremely watered down. The E53 looks INCREDIBLE, but god the cars just aren’t as fun to drive anymore.
How do you feel about the CLE53 compared to this? I'm looking to buy a cle53 but was giving some thoughts to this e53 as well for electric short commutes.
@ it feels like the exact same. I believe the drivetrains are identical, the torque converter makes the shifts feel a little strange sometimes. The CLE is a bit more sporty feeling and doesn’t feel quite as heavy on the brakes but the E class feels more refined luxury wise.

I live in southern Africa and alot of the cars where I live are new Ford Rangers and the new Toyota hilux and they're just so big now, when you see either a hulix or ranger that's only one generation older it's night and day, I really hope one day soon these big manufacturers just take a step back and start making cars smaller in every way

My concern with the heavy boosted 4 and 6 bangers is long term. Like the 2015 CVTs that are experiencing issues, my worry is that these (and any other small displacement boosted 4cyl) won't last long before requiring a full rebuild. Being inline, this may be ok.

@@jhfreeman Yeah, that's not a surefire good thing. And remember: Were the emissions/CAFE landscape what it was 15 years ago, this trim would be a non-AMG V8 (like an E500) - and that's better than this.
Looking at how well BMW B58's have held up over the years even with tuning, I'm not too worried about this either. People tune the previous-gen 53's without many issues so they hold power just fine. The inline-4's maybe though. I'm more worried about the tech around the motor than the motor itself.

@@rufatkupa4848 This motor has been out for years, just not with a hybrid powertain. Its held up well. If anything the EV element is taking stress off the motor.
In America there are two different types of Altima. There’s that one in the video and then there’s the other one that’s missing a bumper doing 120mph on the high way. 😂😂
You could always option the E53 with the stock wheels, its really quiet when you want it to be, and it still looks nice IMO. Also, the tires you were on looked a but harshly used, especially the fronts. You could go for something less sporty, and I bet it would be better. The new E class is generally very soft and quiet, much more S class like than before. I cant say I have driven the E53 a lot, but the tiny bit I have, it feels too soft for my liking.

You want to eliminate the road noise ? Get rid of the run flats tires and install your favorite regulars radial Continentals or Michelins or Pirelli. Trust me, that’s what I did to my S500 and it’s a 30 % improvement on smoothness and reduces road noise dramatically.
Speaking of heavy vehicles, I would love to see the two of you test and review a newer Ford F450 6.7 diesel truck. Preferably tuned and deleted (but not in CA) but stock is still mind blowing. I would love to see your reaction to the insane torque and raw power of such a heavy vehicle! I've recently started working with my brother and now have an F350 work truck that rarely encounters another vehicle that is faster, it's crazy fast! Try one out, if your impressed make us a video! Almost. The chrome black accents are a different hue compared the piano black elements in the interior or the black side window strips. They are not as dark and shimmer a little.
Eh, I'd say "black chrome" is closer to a "gunmetal" finish than it is to Piano Black as seen on interiors.

In the good old days, this 53 used to be the top of the regular line V8 model. It was not pushed so hard to become a diluted AMG, but was delicately made as a concentrated E-Class. That was the correct recipe.

@@prometheus6847 considering I live in the US, if I went that fast in public, I'd go to prison. The fastest I've seen someone going relative to the speed limit was 65 in a 25 (that's 105kph in a 40kph zone for reference).
This seems like one of the better performance saloons out right now. This interior seem comparably better to BMW and Audi's new stuff and better than the S63 aswell. Granted it's full of touch screens, but they're integrated well into the dash and there's almost no Piano black. Extra points for the way it drives too.
I saw the E class last year in Essen Germany it was the T model or Wagon whatever you want to call it and its such an elegant look. Sadly couldn’t test drive it so i’ve been waiting on an in depth review. Hopefully it’ll match the previous gen E class!

My new E53 in the UK is very quiet road noise wise ? Do North American spec cars include acoustic glass option? My cars on 20 inch wheels not 21. Still running in but very pleased so far.
It's a genuinely good-looking Mercedes and the sporty interior is remarkably gorgeous! My favorite AMG by far and I don't need the madness of the V8 E63 when I have comfort and a relaxing 6-cylinder engine in this new E 53

I think that reviewing the Mercedes brand, with all of them looking alike, is boring. Sure they're fast and heavy, but that, to me is not the definition of a sports car. Porsche yes, as I used to own a 997, but every week I see the guys standing in front of a Mercedes. Come on, let's do something else for a change. What happened to some of the off road stuff you used to do? Except for the review of the Land Cruiser, which I enjoyed immensely, there hasn't been much. I guess at 62, I'm looking for more substance than flash. I still drive Porsche's and BMW's at the track BTW, so I'm no slouch behind the wheel, in case you think I have old man syndrome.

Mercedes just refreshed their entire lineup over the last year so they’ve got lots of new cars. In their last 17 videos there has been 2 Porsche reviews and BMW has been in 5 so it’s not like they aren’t getting coverage.

Mercedes actually has two different tire pressure specs, for partial and max load. The sticker on the door sill only lists the max load spec, while the sticker inside the fuel flap lists all the necessary pressures for the vehicle.

Listen, I’m not purposely a bmw fan boy, but from a base 10 year old 328i, to a brand new x5m, they just drive better than anything. They just do. The ride, the steering, the comfort, the interior’s quality feel, the heads up display, I mean everything just comes together so good to bring you; The Ultimate Driving Experience. That saying is not a lie. Every time I get in any other car, it may feel nice, but it’s never a BMW.
It's completely different. Love the M4, but no bmw feels as luxurious as my S class. And until this current generation BMW interiors were lacking. they've always been great handling cars especially if you're a spirited driver, but that type of driving and stiff suspension isn't for everyone or every road. If you have 0 interest in spirited driving, like my old father, bmw simply doesn't feel as nice to drive

Got mine here in Finland last day of year 2024 :) Went without the dark chrome as I like the normal chrome and the style of sporty mixed with business style, if that makes sense as a description. I I feel that with the white colors the dark chrome/etc just doesnt as look as good as the normal chrome. Also the exhaust tips blends with the rest of the car and becomes invisible. Also the rims I got are the silver version of this videos 21 inch rims so have to wait for the winter to be over before I can get to test the car with them.
It is my first Mercedes and it is also my first poweful car. It is sad that the highest end AMG here in Finland are simply just so expensive that I do not want to spend that much money on a car. The reason this was "cheaper" and within my price range is the fact that it is a hybrid. The tax portion of the price was only around 4,1k€. (starting price with tax is already 121k€) To compare for example the AMG GT 4 door 43 models taves are already something like 60k€ while the 63 models are about 90k€
Not too fond of the EU regulations either that are bringing the exhaust sounds down. I was looking at a C43 years ago and I feel they were louder on idle than this car is while revving.

I don't think that has gone anywhere, these are just where throttle house extra episodes go now. The long format funny skits videos are just saved for special vehicles or ones they feel they need to go into far more detail on. Like maybe comparison videos. They said it themselves in the intro, the express videos allow them to spend more time on "other projects" like in depth reviews, and road trips. I think they have like a cheap car challenge coming up.
They still will for the full videos, just not for the express.

Its a cool car, but to see an AMG with this price tag, a 3.0 L powerplant, and hauling well over 4000 pounds around, just doesn't sit right with me. Im glad they are still pumping out good horsepower figures though.

Work for Mercedes, driven the car around 1000 miles now. It’s… not an AMG. It’s a luxury car with performance. It’s fast in a straight line, it sounds… ok… but it feels so heavy and awkward to drive. It just feels like the AMG name/brand has been extremely watered down. The E53 looks INCREDIBLE, but god the cars just aren’t as fun to drive anymore.
How do you feel about the CLE53 compared to this? I'm looking to buy a cle53 but was giving some thoughts to this e53 as well for electric short commutes.
@ it feels like the exact same. I believe the drivetrains are identical, the torque converter makes the shifts feel a little strange sometimes. The CLE is a bit more sporty feeling and doesn’t feel quite as heavy on the brakes but the E class feels more refined luxury wise.
