It's cheap as they have been over charging us for years. So you can have ohlins, Brembo, etc for 10k and they still have a margin. Love them or hate them the competition from China is having a positive effect.
Agreed. Motorcycle prices have gone way way way too high since around 2010. THings have been getting wilder and wilder. 2015 onwards was bad, 2020 to 2024 was totally mentally crazy. Manufacturers increased prices to the moon which put new bikes out of people range. PCP and other (LOANS) do not help make bikes more affordable. They just act as a trap for people with low impulse control. Having a good bike at 10 Grand is perfect for normal people and will get a lot of people to buy this instead of a used motorcycle.
So far i love it... Cant wait to ride one. You don't need expensive wings, 300bhp and exotic parts for every bike -- sometimes you just need a well made, well thought out bike. Full stop.
I love this bike.. under 10K means not only can I afford it,, but not worry constantly about it being stolen. 150 odd HP means you can thrash it on the road without going to jail. and have a little track day fun knowing that if I throw it down the road its not going to cost me 7-10K to fix it. one guy says a daily super naked .perfect description . it feels like a return of why we got into bikes in the first place..exciting and cheeper than cars.
@doug3011 what ru smoking? I can't even use half the power on my 125hp z900 without instantly doubling the speed limit...you "might " be able to use 30% of this bikes capability on public roads 🙄
The manufacturers have been overcharging us so much that when a normal priced bike comes along we are made to think it’s a bargain. This is what a litre bike should always cost.
It has the potential to be an industry defining motorcycle in my opinion. I just said about the SP in Red, but picture in HRC colours, or Repsol....😮 I would love to see a Honda resurgence, they never went away, they just got left behind, and it only takes one bike to breath life back into a brand! This could be it!
What makes me laugh, is that there seems to be a load of superbike and/or supernaked types, who seem intent on ragging on this; probably because they now feel a bit silly paying north of 15k for their chosen ride 😂
Lovely job! On the can being a bit budget, I think that's a decent place for Honda to skimp a bit on quality, as 90% of the bikes will have them put in the shed and a can put on! I'd say if it turns into a keeper you'd put a full system and map on to get rid of the cat as well...
Exactly. All new bikes with standard euro (insert number here) cans look gash and end up in the shed immediately. Why spend money on something that only has to please the regulators.
Put on a new can, a map, remove the cat. What do you think your insurance company does when it gets totalled? They tell you no claim, not road legal, modified from manufacture spec, and tell you to whistle Dixie. That’s what happens. Not that I wouldn’t do exactly that in a perfect world.
Well done Honda, great choice of engine, suspenders and electronics, I personally was saving for an S1000R but this is perfect, I really don't need fancy electronics and a color screen TV on my bike for an extra 6grand. They should have put some lacquer on though, not too keen on the matt black, but I'll take it.
I agree. The only thing that really bothers me is the fuel economy. Not because is bad for a liter bike, it is really good actually. It's because is the same as... a gen3 Hayabusa.
Damn it! I was kind of hoping this bike would kind of slip under the radar, so if I got one I wouldn't look like everyone else on the road 😅 I've been looking for an excuse to upgrade from an 07 CB600F Hornet for the last 17 years, and finally this could be the bike to do it. The 650 & 750 Hornets certainly weren't 😅
You can keep your anti wheelie and cruise, but slide control abs would be nice for confidence on greasy surfaces. It would be good to see a braking test between standard abs and 6 axis malarkey.
The subframe appears to be welded to the frame, that does worry me a bit when it comes to crash damage. Otherwise a very convincing package though, i was hoping a manufacturer would make an interesting bike without chucking every bit of quite frankly unneeded electronics at it to inflate the price.
I think that a lot of the answers given also apply to the Hornet 750. I know because many of the vloggers for the Hornet 750, have given pretty much the same answers as their comments after riding it. If you're not going to be doing touring or 4-lane speed tests, I think that the 750 Hornet more than suffices for city riding, as well as commuting to neighbouring towns.
I own one and while is small, light and VERY agile, the snatchy throttle ruins it a bit on town riding, which is a huge shame. It is surprisingly good for touring tho, something it was never advertised to excel at. I have done almost 1000km on one day with it and the only tired part of my body was my bum xD EDIT: and the fuel economy is great! Actually below the advertised one if you ride it easy.
@ I agree. The snatchyness to me isnt a dealbreaker. It’s even a no-concern with a steadier hand. I love everything about the 750. The seat is so low that a lot of ladies prefer and love it. I added a BMC air filter which has pumped up the already gorgeous exhaust notes even more, perhaps adding 1 or 2 hp.
@@FortyFourTeeth Well, I can't say I totally agree. The Hornet 750 is around my 25th bike, and also having tried various others, I have to say the 750 has been the bike that gave me the most blast. As said above, very little expensive electronics, and what it does have is yesterday's technology so will have dropped in price. R&D costs must be negligible, or already recouped on other bikes (the engine in particular must have paid for the R&D already seeing as it's 7 years old). They probably think they'll sell a lot, hence will recoup investment via volume sales at cheap price (low profit), vs low volume sales at high profit. That's my thoughts on why it's the price it is.

@bikeguy3034 no harm in dreaming I'd love to see a new version of it they sound like F1 cars, beautiful engines.
Excellent ❤
Tubby Statham....... why didn't you ask the Japanese guys if this bike is coming to the US and if it's not, why isn't it?
Honda would never invite them back
Just assumed it was going to the US. I mean, why wouldn't it?
@@FortyFourTeeth Well, everyone's been saying it's not being sold in The States so..... that is why.
We don't get the cb750, we had to wait for the updated cbr600, only got 2 color cb650rs ( it's late December and saw my first cb650r e clutch) Honda will bring this in 2027 once every single overpriced cb1000r black in the world is sold here and euro emissions make the next round
They will be hard to get imo. Sold out all year….
Just put the RRR-SP FireBlade engine it it already!!! What’s the hold up Honda?
i like how this bike (sp)is 12k and everybody is raven about it.... but the suzuki is 10k
£16,000 = 229,000 NOK here in Norway for this bike. Yeah, affordable bikes are non-existent in this country!
That cramp in your leg must do your head in 😅😅
Anyone know if it's coming to USA?
No it's not SMH
@joeplem5329 😡😤🤬
They are going to dump the world's unsold cb1000r black here , once they are sold ....so many late 2027
The only Honda to make you smile?
Fagan enjoyed hooning round with Chris on Monkey bikes a few years back.
@ He would like my 954 with +2 gearing, Light as a 600 and a wheelie machine
There's some context to this in the main review. The only non-superbike, road-only Honda (not including the Monkey or MX bikes)
@@FortyFourTeeth Thats fair
In what way is this better than a cb1000r?
Yeah does seem weird to have 2 bikes so close in target audience.
£2k cheaper, 30hp more, much improved handling and braking.
@crc0889 It replaces the CB1000R in the model lineup.
@@amococ2487 That makes sense
I want to see a dyno
Great bike for £10000
Is there a “J” as the first letter on the vehicle Identification Number,??, Is this Bile made in Japan or Thailand for the price ,??🧐
That 200hp question doesn't make sense. When the competitors are also 150 hp bikes. The Suzuki gsxs1000, the Kawasaki z1000 and Yamaha's mt10.
C.B. ... City Bike.
Make sence if you think of the hp castration of the 200+hp bikes in low gears.
fantastice bike...
So sad for me honda turkey doesnt sell this beauty =/
They dont sell it anywhere yet
@jeffsmith3850 yea i know. But they announced didnt plan to sell in future for long time for example fhey didnt Bring nx500 or Fury or rebel ever
I think its great bike at a great price, but I just don't much like the looks of it, and how bikes look is an important factor to me.
I'd buy one just to overtake yuppies on ducatis 😂
Yeah its cheap, but for 10k you could have a year or 2 old superduke or mt10 thats done low miles and might even already come with a can. I know where my money will be going🙃
Good luck with the superduke😅😅😅
This will sell like the CBR600 F2 did, bucket loads...
