Honda gives riders a 155 hp beast but takes out IMU corner ABS,feel a bit unsafe enough. Especialy for people who have lower riding skills at the UK narrow cold windy wet and raining country road condition. I have a friend who had an accident 3 weeks ago whilst riding a new CB650R when doing S road at country road at 30 miles speed his bike slips off the road and has broken 3 ribs. He told me if his bike got Corner ABS might save him at that time.
@@songrui2000 I'm a very new rider and opted for a KTM 390 Adv as my first bike recently. Pretty much for the reason you said above - on UK roads with UK weather I think as many safety features for a new rider as possible is the way to go. And the wee KTM, even though I won't win any races on it, has the cornering ABS and TC and I would rather have them than not. I think a few people, especially newer rider who see all the numbers it has for 9 grand, might be caught out on the new hornet. It is, however, a stunning bike
For everyone thinking they need corner ABS my advice is to go for dirt biking / enduro first. Grab yourself a 125 - 250 CC 4-stroke machine, proper gear and learn bike physics, when and how it falls, why and what to do when sleep occurs. That will be the best school for you. Aiming at 1000 CC road bike with lots of safety features makes no sense without having proper reflexes and knowing exactly what is going to happen when you cross various surfaces in different conditions at different angles.

Great videos! I’ve already put a deposit on the 2025 Streetfighter V2 S looks great and the reduction in hp doesn’t bother me at all. The torque is available at much lower rpm’s and on the street light to light will be awesome!
Valve springs = good move, less expensive, longer service intervals. Less weight = good move. Less over-square bore/stroke = broader torque for the real world. Cannot argue with the price of the hornet and reviews are all coming in positive. I do love the revised s1000r looks, previous gen was a bit generic and not that exciting to ride, so hopefully this may have fixed it ! Said it before but I do wish triumph has released a new speed triple for this year !
Honda CB1000SP is my pick, cheaper to buy & Insure but just the same thrills as all the rest , but if money no object it would be the Aprilia Tuono Factory V4, it sounds like you have just woken up the devil when on song
For me it's easily the Hornet. Aside from not being able to fit cruise control it seems like a fantastic bike and such a great deal. Also, everyone loves to give it grief for looking like a Streetfighter but no one seems to notice that BMW is aping that look with their super naked? Anyway, I'd probably get that if I were rich because I think it honestly looks visually more appealing than the Duc.
Wait another year or two for the next generation which will likely have the new e-clutch system and cruise control as it becomes more affordable and standard. It appears Honda is striving for affordability with this model (a departure from the Honda tax of the CBRs), so major tech upgrades will likely be slower going for this platform.
@Cthooligan good point. I don't have any interest in the e-clutch - a quickshifter is enough for me - but when they update it these will almost certainly be included.
@@iansmith237 The engineers hinted at such an upgrade during a 44teeth interview. But I agree its not a make or break inclusion as my up-and-down quickshifter works just fine as is, minus first gear clunkiness

Motobob, I know you're all about broad strokes, broad coverage, industry news. But ultimately things are much more nuanced for the average rider. Perhaps discuss horsepower level, power curve, weight, riding preferences, and then steer discussion into which models best fit those roles.
Im between a gen4 mt09 which here in Costa Rica is 17.800$ for the base model and im thinking that the new hornet 1000 sp is coming in around 12 or 14k which is a bargain! For what you get, the issue is when is coming here, it probably come around the end of the year and i don't think that ill be able to wait so much for hopping in a bike once again.

MT-09 Y AMT - for anyone commuting - 193kg saving almost 20kg over the hornet 1000. Yes more expensive but safer with lean sensitive aids. Just as reliable, hornet maybe slightly better looking. They both need to add some sort of phone mirroring/ android apple carplay to their screens like CF moto and make a sleek touring pack add-on version with slim all black panniers and some wind protection then everyone can shut up and take my money!

The Triumph looks great. Most of the others all look the same. I think bikes need character, not all looking the same. BMW's that are not flat twins are just not right.
Frankly, apart from the tech (which I consider a load of wank) my 2012 MV Agusta 1090 Brutale stands up to all of these bikes as far as power, weight & looks go. So I think I'd be spending my money on petrol, not a new bike...
im personally done with japanese bikes. had quite a few over my lifetime. looking forward to the Ducati Streetfighter V2, depending on its performance showing once in everyones hands,
I love Triumph's triple cylinder engines. But on a 660 model bike it just doesn't make sense. The extra cylinder at that displacement volume adds unnecessary weight and is punching down into a class (parallel twins) that has it beat as far as power to weight ratios are concerned. Makes more sense in their 765 platform as it weighs the same as the 660 but makes 40 more HP. Except Triumph sells twin cylinder engines, its just that they output power like a cruiser from last century. So is it that their triple cylinder engines are too detuned for the 660, or are their twin engines too outdated and underperforming for a 660?
Motobob is very convinced that the new Ducati V2 engine wil replace the Testastretta engine in al the models, but I'm not so sure. Besides that, the Supersport wil definitely not get that engine because the model is out of production since this year.
Aprilia 457 has crazy amounts of not-needed tech which just unnecessarily drives the price toooooo high. Traction control and 3 rider modes on a sub 50hp bike? GTFO
