It’s like the old Yamaha FZ1 and Suzuki 1200 Bandit of the early 2000’s. No nonsense, good value motorcycle. Honda’s updated it with a modern touch with just enough tech wise without being to much. I’ll almost certainly be buying one of these when available, exactly what I’ve been looking for. Not a lowish 100bhp powered boring parallel twin, not a 200bhp rocket costing the earth and needing all the tech to make it controllable. It’s a modern motorcycle of yesteryear ethos
Suzuki gsxs 1000 is where it's at, at the segment/price point. Even if i didn't have mine and had the choice between the two, I'd still go for the gsxs hands down.
I love that SP. I paid 8k UK for a 2016 MT-10, low milage. £9999 is insane with that tech. My MT-10 will still kick its ass but it's really got my attention.
I really like this video, and this motorcycle. That said, I'm an old man that yearns for the NC750X DCT. I just want to get there... in comfort... while looking around at the world.
I mean, it does look like a love child between the Ducati Streetfighter and the Kawi Z900, but that's not a bad thing. Lots of power, more than adequate tech and that legendary Honda reliability, for that price point? Sounds like a home run...
Cool bike - matches the GSX-S1000\Katana for specs which have been around for a while. Only thing that the Hornet has that is that color dash and the Ohlins rear on the higher spec model. I personally prefer the Suzuki's for looks though.
I want to say I just wish they would get retro headlights. The only new style headlights I can stand are the triumph alien ones which I know is an outlandish stance 😂
Amazing, simply amazing. I do hope Honda brings this 1000cc Hornet to the states. Maybe they will. IF they do, I just might have to sell my 2006 Honda 919 Hornet. We shall see ...

@@markbarrett2393 so what? It is the top naked bike from suzuki with the same specs of the Honda Hornet 1000. And the K5 Gixxer engine is still the gold standard when it comes to 1000cc inline fours. The Suzuki is the most logical comparison to every upper middle class naked bike because of its price (mt09, street triple rs, z900 and now 1000 hornet). Btw, it will be updated 2025, but again, I bet you won‘t hear about that from yamm.
That's what I'm saying. Who cares if it's an old gixxer motor. It's a proven platform, same specs, and even better torque, brakes, and upgrades like quickshifter without making you pay extra for them on a higher model. Imo, in the budget supernaked class, Noone is touching the value of the gsxs 1000, not even the hornet. And it's a unique design, not just a knock off streetfighter.
I'd still go for the GSX1000S over this one. Can't wait for the direct comparison, but I'm guessing the racing pedigree is more present in the Suzuki than the Honda.
I agree completely. I'm surprised the S1000 didn't really come into the conversation. It's also a 150hp inline four bargain. I have the 8R and wouldn't trade that for anything. I did test ride the S1000GT and what a great ride with a perfect quick shifter.
@@howardfreedman4289 I'm looking at the 8S, the naked version. The price is 7.500€ in my country right now. The market being inundated with Chinese brands is forcing Japanese and European to lower their prices, or they won't sell their stocked bikes by the thousands.
Amazing! But keeping my XSR9. Huge Single/Twin (1390!) thumpers just don't do it for me when today's three cyl is much smoother, and 4 cylinders are overkill for 10K RPM.
This seems to me to be a true update of the old 919 which had not very good specs but was an amazing bike to ride, at least to me. 110 hp to 150 hp and 20 less pounds. I would absolutely buy one if it came to the US! Anyone who had a 919 knows exactly what I'm saying.
Common parts plus the old parts produced in mass production reduces production costs significantly. There is nothing new about it. It has everything that has been there from sometime and everything that already is and produce it in masses. Then the exchange rate differences i.e the collossal Yen to USD exchange rate difference. Simple cost reduction recepie. Honda did an impressive job with it.
I hope you'll be able to review this bike for us and compare it against the MT-09 SP (NOT the MT-10 SP). I see the Hornet will not have the same electronics of the MT-09 SP (cruise control, etc.) and I expect the extra weight will make it less attractive than the MT-09 SP in most real world situations. I'd like to have your expert take. 🙂 Happy New Year! Feliz Ano Novo!
8999 GBP is over 11k USD, it’s not less than an R7 or Daytona 660. Your mental conversions are a few years out of date now. But it is priced very well still. I’d certainly consider it if it comes here. Love inline 4 sound, Honda does it well
They need to bring the cb750 and the cb1000 Hornet to the states. I also think they should make a full fairing cb750r sportbike to compete with the R7 and Rs660.
I got a CfMoto 650MT/Adventura with 1100 miles on it for $4k. I am at over 4k miles now. I would like to see how this bike fits me at 6'3 as a possible future stepup, but I love my CFMoto. It is only 60hp/43ftlb at 7500 rpm and weighs about 470lbs, but it still has plenty of passing power. I know you don't like the Versys, and the 650MT is Cfmoto's competition for that, so I am dreading the day you talk shit about my bike, lol. If it ever comes up in one of your videos I know you will.

Love how he always says a beginner bike being 300-500cc, in the UK we have 125cc bikes, no they’re not the most powerful or fastest, but they allow us to get some experience in
I ordered the SP 3 days after the announcement of marketing by Honda, I had motorcycles 200cv become unusable and much too expensive, and this Honda at this price is just the perfect compromise, delivery in January on the French Riviera I’m looking forward.
I think that's great news and am very happy for those that want to spend $10,000 on a motorcycle. You say it's a simplified parts bin bike But it is full of bells and whistles. Maybe I will own one someday but for now I will keep my Hornet 919 and and FZ1 for a total expenditure of $5,000. I think if Honda wanted to come out with a simple bike about the only luxury I would put on it Is ABS and maybe a quick shifter then maybe they could come out with a bike well under $10,000.

I'm a Yamaha guy always have been that's just me. That's what I paid for my 2009 FZ1 . It comes here I'm looking at it for sure. That's crazy .
This is the bike Honda needs to turn things around. I hope it gets released in the US
I love the continuous seat bench on my '02 Hornet...
Suzuki gsxs 1000 is where it's at, at the segment/price point. Even if i didn't have mine and had the choice between the two, I'd still go for the gsxs hands down.
but its uglier
@tjpfz6 Honda is..agreed!
@@tjpfz6 hell nah thing looks like a fighter jet badass
@Ripfire777 it's a knock off streetfighter. Gsxs 1000 all day
@@conradmccall5820 I ment the gsxs1000 bro lol
This is closer to the original Hornet 600. Sound and performance. Wishing it comes to the states.
I would so get that black SP model with all that gold! so nice
I want the CB1000SP now! I would be more than willing to put money down right now to pre-order this bike if some dealer could make this happen.
I love that SP. I paid 8k UK for a 2016 MT-10, low milage. £9999 is insane with that tech. My MT-10 will still kick its ass but it's really got my attention.
I saw the Hornet videos and announcement, such a cool bike. It'll be super solid.
Talked to the dealer in Italy and the price is around 10800 euros and SP version 600 more
I really like this video, and this motorcycle.
I was looking at getting the new MT09 SP, but now I'll wait to see what this Honda CB1000 SP will be like. Australia is only getting the SP apparently. I just wish, along with the Transalp, that they'd include Cruise Control, even if it was an optional extra.
I have a CRF300L and a '98 Fireblade (Classic 👌), VFR750.. I do like Honda's 💪😀🇦🇺
It‘s fascinating how he is dodging the Suzuki GSXS 1000 as a comparison not only for this bike but also for other bikes.
Because it has been around for a few years now and has a old gsxr 1000 engine?
@@markbarrett2393 so what? It is the top naked bike from suzuki with the same specs of the Honda Hornet 1000. And the K5 Gixxer engine is still the gold standard when it comes to 1000cc inline fours. The Suzuki is the most logical comparison to every upper middle class naked bike because of its price (mt09, street triple rs, z900 and now 1000 hornet). Btw, it will be updated 2025, but again, I bet you won‘t hear about that from yamm.
because its kind of a shit bike at what it wants to do. its a port touring bike that sucks at sport touring
@@Airtroops83 what are talking about? The GSXS naked version is basically a naked GSXR. Same frame, same swing arm, same suspension and K5 engine…
This is nice to see. Even if I'm picking up the 2025 Rebel 1100 next year...
I'm a proud ducatisti, and this is super tempting. The value is crazy.
Great machine, especially the SP version. I'd want the SP but don't like black bikes. Shame they don't do the SP in red.
What do you think about this bike vs. a 2017 BMW S1000r? Will the new hornet be way better ?
This seems to me to be a true update of the old 919 which had not very good specs but was an amazing bike to ride, at least to me. 110 hp to 150 hp and 20 less pounds. I would absolutely buy one if it came to the US! Anyone who had a 919 knows exactly what I'm saying.
Indeed I do. The 919 was an amazing riding bike. I'll get another one soon if these don't come stateside
919 has enough power for me.
2023 hornet 750, then 2024 hornet 500. They started in the smaller bikes (in line twins) before doing this. Value in them is just as good as this.
In the US, if price carries over, would be $11,270 or $12,500 for the tasty SP bits. Well worth it for the SP.
You got it in one bud 🍻🏁
I can't wait to buy one of these used for £5k/£6k in 2 years
you can buy a used FZ-1N for that price right now and have essentially the same specs just without the TFT and traction control
@@usernameunavoidableexactly! I own the bike you speak of and the resemblance here is uncanny 😂 its like watching Honda rename and re-release my bike!
If you want a bike for a weekend blast this is all you need, I have seen this bike at the bike show it’s a nice bike for the buck.
8999 GBP is over 11k USD, it’s not less than an R7 or Daytona 660. Your mental conversions are a few years out of date now. But it is priced very well still. I’d certainly consider it if it comes here. Love inline 4 sound, Honda does it well
Is a game changer!
Best quality/price on marquet
About bloody time !!!!!
They need to bring the cb750 and the cb1000 Hornet to the states.
I also think they should make a full fairing cb750r sportbike to compete with the R7 and Rs660.
Finally. A viable 919 replacement. Loved that bike.
In Europe it costs under 9000 €uros and under 10000 €uros for the SP version 🤙🏾. But this is before the taxes are added in all the different countries.
14k euro for the SP in the Netherlands, stupid taxes
@ wow! I just saw the price here in Sweden and with taxes it’s 13700 € for the SP and 12000 € for the standard.
21444 euros in Denmark 🤣
@@usbsol pff, what is the average montly salary in Denmark? Crazy high prices
@ The Danish 🇩🇰 taxes on vehicles are a lot higher then in many other European countries. But that is double the price of for example England 😅
Love the heads up, thanks brotherq🤙
Honda setting the price and standard? SIGN ME UP!!! 💪🔥
I was looking to upgrade to a Street Triple next year but if this comes to the states it just might be my next bike
retailers in my part of the world will have a field day on this thing. they're gonna overprice that thing to the nines.
Love how he always says a beginner bike being 300-500cc, in the UK we have 125cc bikes, no they’re not the most powerful or fastest, but they allow us to get some experience in
You get a parts bin bike with new engine. SP models are about 5k more with up to date suspension.
I ordered the SP 3 days after the announcement of marketing by Honda, I had motorcycles 200cv become unusable and much too expensive, and this Honda at this price is just the perfect compromise, delivery in January on the French Riviera I’m looking forward.
Looks good, If it makes it cheaper, riding on the road in the UK you dont need all the electronic rubbish anyway. Maybe ABS and minor traction control
Why am I crying... Honda finally done it 🎉
Right on Yammie. I suspect that North America might just get the SP version, at least initially.
