    Can we get a separate video on the 3D mouse? That thing looked really cool and I’d love to see how you’ve integrated it into your workflow.

    • @MrSpartacus575
      @MrSpartacus575 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Obviously this doesn't substitute a good video showing its functionality but as someone who uses a 3D mouse every day for work I can tell you a little of how they work!
      It's essentially a six-axis joystick. Think of a normal gaming joystick as 2-axis control, you can push it left/right and forward/back with all the degrees between. A 3D mouse can be pushed left/right, forward/back, and up/down in addition to being twisted/tilted to the left/right, forward/back, and and clockwise/counterclockwise (think roll, pitch, yaw if that makes sense). That probably sounds weird but the best way to think about using a 3D mouse is that your hand on the mouse is a direct correlation to your hand 'holding the part' you're working on. So if you want to zoom in you 'pull' the part closer to you. If you want to spin the part you would maybe twist it clockwise to turn it around. If you need to access the bottom face of your part you would 'lift the part' while 'tilting it forward' so that the bottom face is now facing towards you.
      It allows for super quick and precise view control but it can take a few days of practice to train your brain to use it!
      Sorry if this was incoherent its hard to explain but I hope it made sense! haha

      3D Mouses are around for quite a time. I've used them for twenty plus years. The principle is like described by @MrSpartacus575. Many programs support the use of it, not only 3D construction software. Also software like Blender, Maya, Cinema 4D and so on.

    Loved that intro! This is no joke though, the death of cells (cellular apoptosis) of the glute muscles can be observed when subjects remain seated for 45 min. To avoid it, it's adviced that we should get up every 30-45 min and do some (5) squats, or alternating the use of a sitting and a standing desk.

    I use a "wire hammock" style of under desk wire organization and its the bee's knees!! Plenty of room for all the extension cords I use removable zip ties to hold up the front edge of the hammock. When it's time to get in there and change something its super simple to just drop the front and have access to all the velcro straps holding everything into the hammock. There are steel bars on the front and the rear which make it extremely strudy. Mine is almost the width of the entire desk and fits between the desk legs PERFECTLY! I decided to tap into the power cord going to the desk in order to provide power to everything on the desk, so there are only two wires running down one of the legs of the desk, eth and power) because I have a laptop and micro external graphics card to power 4x 4k!

    Sorry to disappoint you about that Qidi PA12-CF, since you seem to like it very much, but it only contains milled carbon, which is just carbon dust, no actual fibers. All the strength of the material you're experiencing comes from the Nylon itself, the carbon just adds color. A 750g spool of PA12-CF based on chopped fibers costs $50 to $100 more.

    I use my lowest of my three motorized desk positions for kneeling (feels good when my back is aching sometimes, with a pad on the floor, which is also nice for my feet during Winter). Got a bit of dual-use out of it by locating the keyboard shelf I added so that in that lowest setting the table top itself is at a convenient height when sitting in my chair so I can use it for soldering or other projects (my monitor is on an arm so can be pushed back out of the way). it's useful but it does mean my desk is covered with crap pretty much constantly.

      @ObsessiveGeek ปีที่แล้ว

      @achannelhasnoname5182 Yes, it is. It's medically proven.
      There are plenty of desk jobs where sitting for long times causes long-term damage to the back, it's why there's a whole industry of products that attempt to alleviate this issue.
      Five-minute breaks aren't enough so the better solution isn't to stop working, but simply to find a better position and standing will help.
      Breaks in this instance then give you a rest from being on your feet.
