    Fun comparison! I noticed that your Corolla has 22 more horsepower, more torque, and a CVT with a physical first gear for faster off the line acceleration. Did you notice any of that when comparing the driving experiences? Any other differences between the two driving experiences?

      @rickm8456  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Thanks! Even though the Elantra had 20 less horsepower I really couldn’t tell a difference. The Elantra has a nice engine with a good powertrain. It was pretty responsive.

    Hey Rick, I went to the dealership today and was battling the decision should I pay a bit less for the Elantra or should I just go for the Corolla. Your video was the decision maker for me. I really like your pace and how simple you made everything seem. You're the man. Liked & Subscribed.

    The partition separating the driver from the front passanger is a weird design. It is a passive-aggressive "statement" to your passenger: get your own car, freeloader!!

    I’m at 117k miles on my 2017 Corolla and I’ve only had to replace one wheel bearing, my friend has a 2016 Hyundai Sonata (I know different but still) and his engine let go at 85k. Then my work friend had a Kia Optima Hybrid and it also blew up when I actually was in the car 😂, I’ll keep my Corolla, idc if it’s boring to some people. I do like how they have the CVT with the first physical launch gear over the K313 that’s in my car. It’s a good transmission at least so far but it would be nice to have the launch gear!

      Yeah I agree. Boring can be good. If I want (somewhat) exciting I drive my v6 RAV. We already have 18k on the Corolla and no issues. I think we made the right choice. Thanks for the comment!

    I am loving my new Corolla also in Celestite. The only thing I do not care for is the windshield wiper settings. My Honda accord could vary the frequency but the Corolla only has a fixed "intermittent" setting. Id like to set a time delay for 23 le wipers when they are set to int if it is just a drizzle. Sadly Toyota cheaped out.

    • @planefan5812
      @planefan5812 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think you need to get a higher trim in the Corolla to get the frequency settings. I have a 2022 Corolla SE Premium and it has the 3 "intermittent" settings and also frequency settings when you twist the stalk.

      It’s clearly an area Toyota cut corners with. How expensive could it be to add this to the base model? My 1994 Civic had it for goodness sakes.

    • @planefan5812
      @planefan5812 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@williamjerseyshore And it seems strange that they'd include this in every trim except the base model.I would think it would lower their cost of production if they didn't have to manufacture different wiper systems.
      Another thing that I don't understand is that the base trim Camry doesn't come with an Electronic Parking Brake or Brake hold, yet every other new Toyota outside of the Tacoma and 4Runner come with an EPB, even a base model Corolla.

    Toyotas will outlast Hyundais. Similar vehicles for the first 6 years, but if you want to hold your car 10-20 years Toyota all the way.

      100k 10 yr warranty. That statement is so dumb I have 2 Elantras one with 140k and one with 82k the 2.0 is reliable. Also this review is dog shit he drove a mile in that car he's biased

  • @planefan5812

    Hyundais and Kias are the automotive industries version of "throwaway tech," or tech that is designed to last a certain amount of time before you throw it away and get a new one.

    Laughable to think the Elantra is below the Corolla in fit and finish. 🤣 Absolutely untrue. The Elantra is solid. The Corolla has THE WORST fit and finish of any new car I've ever been in. Sounds like you're trying to rationalize your mistake in buying a Corolla. Sorry, bud.
