    This was my first time ever watching the Superbowl. I'm from Europe and the trophy ceremony also weirded me out. Giving it to the owner of the team is so damn odd lol
    You have incredible athletes who worked hard for it. A coach who worked hard for it. And you give it to an owner who was just having his employees run the team for him.

      @brazyiee9145 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I hope you enjoyed it it was a pretty good game.
      The game does tend to start and stop a lot and that’s because the game is mainly meant to be for American audiences where commercials play a huge part in American culture for some reason, trust me we don’t like it either.
      The reason for giving the trophy to the owner (at the time) is because owners in the nfl play more of a part than in other sports because it’s mainly them building the team. After the ceremony it’s the actual players (mainly the mvp) that gets it. It’s a great sport once you start to get the feel of it and I hope it didn’t discourage it too much being your first experience.

They might be higher profile within their sport (and that's debatable), but that's it.

I've thought about different ways to go about that so that the ball is actually in play for longer, something about stopping the clock after every down? I don't know. The game is already 3hrs long is. Can't really do shorter play clocks either, with having to communicate the play, substitute players, get set, and then the refs too set the ball and the clock doesn't stop for that either. So, idk.

    If you compare American football owners to for example Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who bought the Welsh football team Wrexham AFC. Worlds apart.
    The club belonged to the fans and they had to ask them, if they could invest. Later Ryan Reynolds send crates of gin to their bar beside the stadium and the members could get a bottle as gift.
    They are both interested in the area, made a documentary about it, talk to people and bring attention to the city. Many celebrities visit, for example Will Ferrell visited last week. Their investment and interest helped the whole area. Rob even started to learn Welsh.

    Fun fact: the UK team, Manchester United, who at the time had pretty much 0 debt and were ticking along nicely was once "bought" by couple of (imo, disclamer, disclamer) con artists who did not have the money and used **A LOAN THEY TOOK OUT AGAINST THE TEAM THEY HAD JUST 'BOUGHT' ** to pay for the team.
