@@geneparmesan8748 Where does Craig Ferguson place (if you’re familiar)? He’s one I actually continued to watch long after I cut out access to a TV and cable. He’s the reason I even thought to look up and follow any late night TH-cam channels. Conan I’d watch primarily for interviews, but mostly comedic actors and comics, not just any interview. Seth currently is top for me. I appreciate Amber’s style and choosiness of who she interviews, but she’s still new to it.
@@checksanity I'm not familiar with Craig Ferguson. I'm the same with Conan, I'm always looking for his interviews, and the effort he puts into skits is unmatched as well, though I never got into the habit of his monologue. I always catch Colbert's monologue. His style of comedy jives with me more than Seth's, and after watching him for 15+ years going back to the Report I just genuinely like watching him. I would say I see more of his interviews than Seth's simply because they're around after his monologues, but there are quite a few Seth Meyers where you can really tell that the relationship shines through. John Mulaney is a big one, and I have big respect for how Seth handled a very raw, personal and not super funny interview with Mulaney over his struggles with addiction.
He threw Seth under the bus so well…, Seth enjoyed it! Love them both. They should make a point of being one another’s guest (even though John doesn’t have guests) a few times a year. I’d mark those dates on my calendar so I wouldn’t miss them!
Every time John is on should be a twenty-plus minute segment of chatting. These two flow off each other better than any two people (hosts or guests) in US late night.
I don't think DeSantis had any malice in his statement. He was simply stating a fact. I say this as a conservative that really enjoys Oliver's humor (because it is intelligent, unlike so many political comedians).
There is nothing scarier than a witty, British person who has decided that one's attempts at insulting them are "amusing." The British meaning of "amusing" can here be translated into American English to mean "cute" in the sense of "laughably pathetic." Having found one "amusing" the Brit will now employ their wit to have some "fun" with one. One will not find this fun _at all._
John Oliver is brilliant. He takes important topics that would otherwise likely be dull as dirt, and makes them eminently enjoyable to learn about. Come for the comedy, and stay for the insight!
Never really watched these 2 guys until pandemic started. They kept me sane during those rough times. They taught me to look at bad times with a different tone
I felt that way about Jon Stewart through 9/11. We'd been watching him for quite a while before that happened and he was so sincere and heartfelt when he next aired we both cried and felt oddly better. Then he spent a few decades making sure that Congress was taking care of all the first responders because they weren't. Now he's got his own show again on Apple TV and I couldn't be more thrilled about that.
@@joanne4365 Exactly. Without Jon Stewart I cannot imagine how we would have coped with GW, much less prepared ourselves for the FF VonClownstick years.
I love when you see comedians and late show hosts that started out writing for shows together go on a friends show and give an interview; they are probably the most honest interviews and interactions you get to see on TV them just taking the piss out of each other for 5 to 15 minutes.
It is my FAVORITE thing in the world to watch two comedians make each other laugh, especially with built in “pull back the curtain a bit” and watch them laugh genuinely at the absurdity of their circumstances. They’re experts in their niche, and they get to bask in the fruits of their looong efforts. It has to be so ridiculously fun to work and hang out with friends so often.
@@MayMarmaid Pay attention to how talk show hosts laugh. If they can instantly stop laughing and ask a question without any residual amusement in their voice or face then it's fake.

John Oliver is often called the king of late night, but I think Seth Meyers doesn't get enough credit -- I genuinely think he may be the funniest late night talk show host out there, and possibly the best of all time. John Oliver is VERY close, however, so seeing the two of them together, ripping on each other so perfectly, is just amazing. What a power duo of comedy!
I've never heard Oliver called that. It makes muuuch more sense for someone who has a nightly show and for most weeks in the year than the 'whever-we-let-john-out-of-his-void' schedule he's on.
Oliver does something different than late night. I agree on Meyers, mostly because when he clicks with a guest, they just go down rabid holes of fun and jokes that clearly have nothing to do with a plan or script and they often make the reason for being there (promo of something) a side note. It comes across as so casual and improvised, which I like.
Join Oliver has the gift of making everyone of these interviews sparkle. I wonder if there is any night show host that doesn't absolutely want him in the hot seat. These moments are the only competition to his show, IMO.🎉
This interview/conversation was a joy to watch! John is so naturally hilarious! I really miss his friend Andy Zaltzman. He is such a smart and funny guy!
I love when an interview actually just feels like two friends talking to eachother and busting balls... it's the best and makes for killer TV. Seth and John are my fave late nighters.
BEST EVER. Reads like a comedy scene in a play, totally improvised. Seth's amazing "How DARE You!" riff is the setting for John's table-thump; you can feel the love.
I cannot count the times that Oliver has literally torn me up with laughter. I am always appreciative of Jon Stewart for seeing his unique talent and capitalizing on it. I would rather forego food than miss one of John Oliver's shows. I declare him a national treasure and another huge loss for King George.
Look at these two, exchanging quips back and forth and just have a giddy time together. It's like watching two best buds from College meet up as grown men and the companionship is still there!
My choice was welfare fraud over the Oscars also. My choice is always anything John Oliver does. I did watch "Fallon's" monologue to open that show though.
How can you not love John Oliver? He's great and I love his Last Week Tonight show. He really tells it like it is and unfortunately the way it is looks pathetic, abusive, bleak and hilariously obvious. He exposes the true transparent facts that we can look forward to a lot more of the same if we don't wake up to the bad actors serving us giant helpings of these things by the butt loads. Good job and thanks for helping us see and understand the elephant in the room and helping us to laugh at ourselves for letting a lot of these insulting things slide for so long.
With how great John is, I would have taken "you don't need a guest" as an absolute compliment. Like a brownie not needing milk, a bread not needing butter.
These two, along with Steven Colbert, are an absolute delight to watch every time. It makes me feel blessed to be able to enjoy them all in the same time. And it more than makes up for the existence of Jimmy Fallon and James Corden, which is huge.

Now regarding interviews and variety how about revamping the Kathy Show, Not safe with Nikki Glaser and Love you, mean it with Whitney Cummings? And for even more contemporary issues at.midnight, Mock the Week, Complaints welcome and the Soup?;o)
I was genuinely dismayed to hear that fucking Murdoch owns the London Times. And has since '81! Way too much power for someone with such awful views to spread.

Conan is top, and Colbert is pretty good but I really think Seth might be my #2 favourite talk show interviewer.
I love Seth's reaction to Shazam call out 😂
When you make John laugh so hard he jumps up and down on his chair like a bunny rabbit, you've made it in life. #LifeGoals
It's like watching a giddy kid enjoying himself after a successful prank
I love those whole body laughing fits. They're so free and joyous and much more elegant than mine. I just slide to the floor and fart.
Totally enjoyable 🥰
You don't really watch his show do you, he is always hopping around and it's great.
I find Oliver repetitive and shallow in his "journalism" but he is relevant in several ways and quite talented indeed.
One of my favorite interviews with John Oliver. Loved watching him throw Seth under the bus!!!
john oliver talks to his audience
the best guest ever
He threw Seth under the bus so well…, Seth enjoyed it! Love them both. They should make a point of being one another’s guest (even though John doesn’t have guests) a few times a year. I’d mark those dates on my calendar so I wouldn’t miss them!
Every time John is on should be a twenty-plus minute segment of chatting. These two flow off each other better than any two people (hosts or guests) in US late night.
their time together was too short! give us more!
Unfortunately John is irrelevant/jk
I'd love to see him on the Graham Norton show. I'm sure Graham would too.
Colbert an John are pretty great too
I would add Conan and Norm McDonald (rip)
If Ron DeSantis is annoyed or upset with you, you know you are doing the right thing and making a positive impact in the world.
lol You did something right.
Bit like trump lol
A badge of honor
I don't think DeSantis had any malice in his statement. He was simply stating a fact. I say this as a conservative that really enjoys Oliver's humor (because it is intelligent, unlike so many political comedians).
@@tituspullo3946agree. Same. I like de Santis too. This is not really like the Trump spat attack the media wants
I love John Oliver because he never takes himself too seriously.

Who is John Oliver… face looks familiar but, the guy looks dodgy… was he arrested for child fiddling? 😂😂
He's English. What dya expect?😉
There is nothing scarier than a witty, British person who has decided that one's attempts at insulting them are "amusing."
The British meaning of "amusing" can here be translated into American English to mean "cute" in the sense of "laughably pathetic."
Having found one "amusing" the Brit will now employ their wit to have some "fun" with one.
Without Jon Stewart I cannot imagine how we would have coped with GW, much less prepared ourselves for the FF VonClownstick years.

it's like john oliver brings out the best and most talkative in any late night host. so much light-hearted fun and wit, i'm loving this to pieces.
Love how John Oliver jumps in place in his seat. He gets a real kick out of people who try to tear him down. What a fabulous attitude 😂
Johns little dance and clap every time he laughs it's like he's startled he's laughing

The Shazam bit killed me. 😂
I love when you see comedians and late show hosts that started out writing for shows together go on a friends show and give an interview; they are probably the most honest interviews and interactions you get to see on TV them just taking the piss out of each other for 5 to 15 minutes.
I swear when these two get into a conversation it's just giggles for everyone privy. Nice good laugh for my morning, thank you~
I just enjoy them taking the piss with each other and giggling wildly while doing it.
There was only one comedian laughing genuinely in that clip and it's pretty obvious...
@@dangerfly Little D what is your problem?
@@MayMarmaid Pay attention to how talk show hosts laugh. If they can instantly stop laughing and ask a question without any residual amusement in their voice or face then it's fake.
This had my crying with laughter. Their interactions and sincerity, in the wake of their self reflection, is comedy gold.
I miss both of these people, I hope the writer’s strike resolves soon with the writers getting all that they rightly deserve
Man, Seth has such grace under pressure. I love that he's still having fun even as it's happpening. And of course, John Oliver is a gift.
Yea, a gift that needs returning.

I have had John Oliver on weekly recording for years now! After all the serious Sunday talk shows John can close out my weekend with a smile! Keep up the great work John, cuz America loves you!
These guys are hilarious individually. Put them together and it’s hard not to fall out of my chair laughing.
John Oliver being interviewed by Stephen Colbert and Seth Meyers are the funniest, most wholesome things I have watched in a while.
Check out when he and Amber Ruffin talked about Christmas. So funny!
You should watch some Xiedubbel channel. Wholesome.
Have you watched Russell Howard interview him for ‘The Russell Howard Hour’? Comedy gold. Makes me cackle every time. (I return to it about once a year, for a reliable boost of serotonin.)

Letterman is the 🐐
Oliver does something different than late night.
I agree on Meyers, mostly because when he clicks with a guest, they just go down rabid holes of fun and jokes that clearly have nothing to do with a plan or script and they often make the reason for being there (promo of something) a side note. It comes across as so casual and improvised, which I like.
