Tonight after the gym, which was at about midnight, I went to a local 24 hour restaurant called Zippy's. The woman behind the counter was flustered af. They were short-handed and the orders had piled up before I got there. When I went to the counter to order, she looked at me and said "The wait will be one hour. You can have a seat if you want". The wait was more like 15 minutes.
I could tell she was feeling overwhelmed but I chose to sit down and wait patiently. People were getting upset. One guy called her a bitch. In his defense, she was aggravated. Still, that was uncalled for. I understood her plight, though. I've been there.
When it became time for me to order, I told her that she was an absolute machine and that she handled those orders like a boss. Her expression changed from a concerned look to that of just sheer relief. She smiled and happily took my order.
While waiting for my order, and when she had a moment, I asked her if the fudge brownies that were left over from the night before were on sale. She said "no...but I'm going to give them to you for free because you waited and you were so nice to me". I just took one and I thanked her :)
BOOM!!! SUCK IT OTHER CUSTOMERS. WINNER IS ME.
I am eating the absolute crap out of this brownie right now. Gym session WASTED but soooo worth it :p.
Moral of the story, be patient. Be nice. We don't know the struggles of another person and sometimes just understanding and being kind can get you free fuggin brownies!

Did a similar mod on my PADI Sami- installed the etched lumed ceramic Samurai bezel insert from LCBI (of course) on my original bezel and the watch looks absolutely amazing!! The etched script is slightly oversized compared to the original, better matching the markings on the dial.

In modding, I learned a short cut...you put the tape on the blade, not the watch case.
Huh, I'm going to have to try that. But I'm still going to tape up the case first while I do so :p
I have a short cut, is not taping anything, just do it with some precision and a little luck :)

Just switched out the bezel on my Samurai, and this video is the reason I was able to do it. Thanks a bunch for the video, it was excellent!
Question.... Did you use a press to put the bezel on? Think it could be done by hand?
@@dominicdiaz8707 I'm willing to bet there probably is a way to make it work, but not well, and probably not without significant scratching. You can find a press for 15 bucks on Amazon, and it'll be well worth it.

The insert bezel looks awesome and the lume are stunning !! I think it does go well with the samouraï. And even the numbers on the bezel seems to be "yellowish" than the white lumes insert of the watch, It matches the watch. So for me, great acquisition from LCBI ! Check the Lummmmmmmmme :D

Great video. I like the Samurai bezel also with it's chamfer . It doesn't seem possible to find Samurai bezel replacements? Only Turtles, but they're much taller? Anybody know where to get Samurai specific bezels?

Where did you get those 3m adhesives? I have a bezel insert and cant find what type or kind of 3m adhesive double sided tape to use. You have any specifics on that?

I don't see why not. Nothing has changed with the watch's water resistance as I haven't changed the crystal or opened up the case. The best works great!

Great mod, but I don’t think you can touch the original design. The samurai is an amazing design...except for the misaligned chapter ring on mine. I guess you can’t have it all 🤷🏼♂️

From the video you got a lumed bezel, which you may said was sapphire? I have some ceramic bezel watches never a sapphire.
Do the skx bezels work on the samurai?
The turtle bezels do, I don’t think the skx ones will fit.
Why not taping the tool you use to remove the bezel ?

Thanks, William. I am finding it easier now that I've been doing it for about a week or two. I can't remember. The hunger is gone and I also feel better! I had some weird, nasty movements for the first few days which made me realize how unclean I was. I feel like I have more energy now which is ironic :p. I have and after seeing it, I now realize that I used to watch this as a kid at my grandma's house! Oh the memories of that house!
I am still in the hunger phase I guess lol. Was your grandmothers house in Japan because I was under the impression it was never broadcasted in the U.S.! That show was 10 times better than the live action 70s version here, at least the Japanese version would make you laugh!

I really like the mod! The original Samurai bezel insert is a little too busy for my liking.
While the watch itself doesn't trip my trigger I do like the lumed insert.
Lume is always nice :)

I really like the lume on it but the aesthetic of the original seemed to fit the dial better. Please tell Ted not to be mixing bars and Ambien, that's a no no. I'd also like to see a mod video of your 2004 Dodge Caravan as well! Lol Good Job Kurt and Happy Birthday!

MinitCrotch?! at 14:59 Haha too funny! Not sure if that bezel works with that crown. Or the insert with the whole thing. The Sammy is very distinct in every way from virtually all other Seiko divers and now it looks a little inbred. I'd say go back to stock until Carlos has an insert for the stock bezel. I've got the same watch, and that's what I'm waiting for. All the best on your birthday old man! I'll raise one in your honor. Huzzah!

Do not buy any lumed bezel inserts from LCBI! They are cheaply made and the applied lume on mine started peeling off in less than a couple of months. Their CS claims that I am not allowed to wash my hands with the watch on because the hand soap damages the applied lume. Imagine a diver watch you can’t even get wet.
I see people just press the bezels back just with their fingers..
The last time I tried that, my watch went flying hahaha. It's just so much easier to use tools :p
