I just added that same style bezel insert to a stock skx007 and it looks fantastic. A whole new watch with much more presence. It’s back on the wrist almost every other day.
Very nice work. I am just learning to change straps and I could feel it when you were trying to get them to click into place. I know that feeling.

I have done my share of mess ups too. Legit destroyed couple items for sure.
I find when seating Crystal's is to hand set them to get the crystal seated straight on all sides then use the press to push it in the remainder of the way. Nice mod!
So use finger strength to get it sorted then smash it down?
For inserts I prefer some type of contact cement. It’ll give you a few seconds of wiggle room to align the insert. I used the 3m tape once and once I placed the insert down, that was it. Luckily I had it on straight
Yeah the 3m doesn’t mess around at all. Gotta be on your game to set that insert down.

The way i get rid of dust inside is by using some scotch tape from walmart and stick it on the crystal and lightly pull it off and it works all the time. Does not leave any tape residue.

R, where did you buy the second hand? Dont know if it's 100% true, but AR "coatings" are often a layer of plastic applied to the crystal - they are not the hi-tech coating shot onto the glass many folks believe. nice nice job, sir
When an SKX has been modified that much, can it even be called an SKX anymore?
The case and case back (gaskets too) are all oem Seiko skx007. What else can we call it? It’s can only be called a modded skx.

Does an SRP777 Turtle dial fit into a SKX013 case? I know people mod their SKX007/009 cases with a Turtle dial but would it fit into an SKX013?
Sweet looking piece. That lume is nice. I have been looking at modding a PADI Samurai for GMT functionality. Would you happen to know if the Murphy bezel will work/fit on the Samurai?
Erik Lind I put the LCBI’s Black lumed ceramic Samurai dive insert on my PADI Sami and it looks unbelievably high-end. The flash of that etched glossy bezel combined with the detail of that PADI dial is truly a sight to behold🤩
I wonder if a little bit of Vaseline on the side of the crystal will help?
i don't know why people even talk about lume on watches. it lasts for 15-20 minutes then it's gone.

what is the quality like on these aftermarket ceramic bezel inserts?
is it comparable to the one that would be on a high end seiko or a rolex?
or are they just recommended to be used with low end seiko watches?
Yes it's a nice looking mod on a diver's watch.. So why using a gmt bezel insert?
Cause that’s what Homer wanted.
Many "Diver" watches are actually desk divers. I like the GMT function (and use it for work) and prefer a mechanical movement, that combo is hard to find so a simple change of the bezel/insert offers more choices.
It's not a GMT, it's dual time which is actually useful.

I think watch become heavier than the original how about angus bracelet when you compare with the original jubilee
Angus vs Seiko jubilee? The angus is heavy and tougher for sure.
a very important video but the position of the camera blocks a lot of important moments that lead nothing useful in helping ...
I missed the part with the chapter ring. How did you make sure it was aligned?
It is factory Seiko and has the key so it stays in correct place. It happens to be a good one that lines up. Marc at Long Island watch covers this topic the best. I can try and show in future vids.

i feel like a camera mounted from the top down might be better for the mod videos. A cooking channel i watch does this and it makes it super easy to tell what's going on.
