I always thought it was a mutated Tau Volantian, like the Nexus. We've seen the markers drastically mutate humans into unrecognizable forms before. Honestly because of the three lights I think it may be the alien version of a Ubermorph.
This is exactly what I thought too. I always thought it was plausible to consider it was a mutated sentient Tau Volantian considering we get mutated humans that end up like Brutes, The Tormentor (which looks kinda like this), and other strange human formations

Great vid! Hmmm, if I out my two cents into this bucket. I'd say the marker made the snow beast out of some endangered (possibly recently exctinct) but rather deadly creature native to the planet that was too big to steadily find prey that could sustain its massive composure. Now being animated by the markers untatural ways it need not eat only kill mostly unaltered in comparison to other necromorphs due to its optimized lethality. Due to its effectiveness in the given enviroment compared to all the humans on the planet and the rarity of other kinds of these creatures to convert the marker knows to use the snow beast sparingly and not as canon fodder. At least until the protagonist ventures far enough for it to take such risks

I never considered that they were a morph of a native species/species but it makes sense that they would be. The legs and mouth structure definitely are reminiscent of arthropods as we know them. The mouth structure is very similar to what crabs have. The legs do look as if they may have had a pincer to start off with that was altered into the murder spike it has now. It also has protrusions on the underside of the exoskeleton. I can't tell if they are just protrusions of chitin or altered leg structures, but they may be legs that became vestigial during/after the change.
