I also died at the part where you have to shoot the explosive tanks to get the tormentor to let you go when it had a hold of your leg in space. The red tanks did not seem obvious to me and now they I think about it, it could have been intentional. They probably wanted people to die there so that players of the first game can see the death scene of Issac’s floating hand in space and make the connect the it looks like the cover of the first dead space.

This thing really scares me bcuz of its horrifying abilities. The fact that Isaac has survived the hells that are the necromorph horde is the reason why he will be one of my favorite video game characters. Great puns and an even greater video. Keep up the great work

Yes! The Tormentor was always my favorite Necromorph. That entire sequence was my favorite moment in the Dead Space franchise!
I do like how this beast of a necromorph only shows up for a short time and you don’t actually kill it. It makes you wonder what other types of abominations were lurking deep in Titan station.
If anything gave Isaac PTSD, it’s those damn stalkers.

I like the call the Tormenter boss fight one of the more *signature scenes* in the game...
Incredible job as always! The Tormentor was one of my favorite parts of DS2. All the cutscenes involving it are so gritty and raw, and even though there's not much footage of this handsome boi you did a wonderful job making it work! Really a stellar video and a joy to watch!
I was waiting for a video on this one for a while. This thing is such a beast. One of my favorite necromorphs for sure. The way it just comes out of nowhere and it starts relentlessly chasing you while destroying everything in it's path, it was quite the experience the first time. This and the hunter from the first game are easily some of the most tense encounters in the series in my opinion.

It always bugged me that we never got to fight the tormentor again after the first encounter. I was convinced that I was being hunted by the tormentor afterwards and there would eventually be a final showdown between you and him. But all we got was disappointment. Lol
I like how the more combined a necromorph is the more they seem to have a functional for and try to keep it that way. A large pile of random necromorphs or an ubermorph with a snow beast, a tormentor, and countless other creations would make more sense as a later stage force to kill as much prey as fast as possible.

It may have only been encountered once, but it's relentlessness, destruction, badass interactive cutscene, and haunting wailing screams, it is the most memorable.
This thing basically T-posed our hero into PTSD.

Given how the damage resistances on this beast is pretty high, I wonder if the weight might actually be a little higher than you hypothesized. Mostly just because the outer "shell" or hide ( not sure if it's like a hide or more like a segmented carapace.... but with gaps for some reason.) would theoretically be thicker or more dense. That density I speculate would need more biomatter to achieve the same size or in this case coverage, meaning it may be heavier.
For sake of an example, it may take 5 more bodies (or at least enough flesh to equate to 5 bodies on a scale) of average or smaller size to condense into the armor. Sort of like a coating at first that would solidify or cure so to speak. Could think of it like quick-set cement I guess :P
Anyway I figured it wouldn't weigh too much more because of all that, 3 tons max (so 500-1000 lbs heavier from the hardened flesh jelly lol). Another reason I pondered it was because the legs are fairly thin in places, so might not support the weight as well if enough of the muscle and bone were converted into the armor. Buuut that structural thinness might explain the way the tormentor moves, lurching about and all. So, maybe it came out of a gigantic pile of bodies where some on the outside liquefied as the new beast formed, I guess (to get back to the theory).
Another good choice to go over from dead space though. Was always pretty mysterious like the larger necromorphs in general so it invites a fair deal of speculation, on top of what lore and info does exist. Feels like those videos about the more unknown creatures (regardless of the game/ fiction it's from) make for some of the best videos in a way. Do wonder though, does the larger weight make sense to you or do you more stick to the original estimate?
Think the flesh pile is fairly common actually, so that bit may not be theory so much.

Note blood also turns into bone if left to clot and fester without to much disturbance takes about 6 months but due to nercos having accelerated healing and mutation it can turn ordinary blood to bone aswell

@@RoanokeGaming it was well worth the wait! Ever since that bastard started throwing me around the Sprawl it got to the top of my list of "what the hell are those?" Shortly after that came the realization that, due to the unknowness of the universe and our Galaxy, this shit could very well exist in one form or another. Our concept of life isn't the same as it is elsewhere, take a tree for instance. Is alive, but doesn't have organs like we do or other animals, but has it's agenda to seek out light, food and nourishment to live and grow. Others strangle nearby trees, so to speak, with vines to prevent them from taking their nutrients. This girl thinks too much lol
Anyway, these videos make awful days more smooth, so keep it up and thank you. :)

Kinda disappointing how underused the Tormentor is. Would've been amazing if there was a fully fledged boss-fight with thing. But it'ss most likely because they ran out of time.
If there ever is a remaster of the trilogy, I really hope they actually remake the first and second game in order to make them feel fresh. With the Tormentor, what they could do is to throw suddle hints that it's not dead and at one point, it suddenly jumps on you and you have to take it out in a conventional boss-fight. Or hell, they could make it so that it appears after the final Nicole boss-fight, as in it acts as the final boss of the game. That'd be awesome.
Or better, since you blow up one of it's arms in this sequence have a boss battle prior to show it off in all its menacing glory, and let the tormentor have some armor covering his weak yellow spots. Isaac tries to destroy the armor and damages it a little bit, but in the chaos you get separated somehow. , Only to reappear in this sequence where you think "Oh shit, not you again!"
This thing scared me to death when I was a kid. Great video as always looking forward to seeing more of this series.

Sad to say. They will be sued by EA... FIFA isn't supporting them it seems. Also. Why would Necromorphs have issues on cold planets when they can survive in space? The coldest thing, that we know, in the universe? Yet they can't handle a little wind chill?
Muscle tissue still needs to be maintained. When water saturated material freezes, the material can become brittle and easier to break or snap. Take that into account, and a large portion of the necromorphs in the last game should have broke in one or two hits if not breaking just from moving. Yet the marker somehow kept the body fluids liquid and functional, as the mummies bleed from losing a limb. And the planet is in fact much colder from the terraforming machine. The tormenter was only there for a few seconds at most. All space necromorphs in the second game are also fresh and still active.
@@loganbaxter4685 You just confirmed what I said. Yes muscle tissue needs to be maintained. In space there is nothing to maintain muscle tissue so the cells should just erupt, let alone 1 degree below absolute freezing. PLUS there is moisture to absorb what they need to move.
So why does a wind chill affect them at all? It doesn't make sense.
Jason Leon The ones in space on the lost fleet of ships were in fact mummified. My only guess to how the cells remain intact would be the bacteria in the biomass create chemicals that partially preserve the body. The ones in dead space two were not frozen as no heat is actually lost in space without a medium to take the heat, such as clothing. Only moisture on the skin would begin freezing, which harm a human, but not even scratch a necromorph. Note all of mummies on the abandoned fleet in Dead Space 3 were in contact with corruption, which would act as a medium to remove heat, and that’s not counting the ships still had life support.
Ea would not be able to sue them, as their enemies would not be necromorphs, the tec could not be used either, the laser pointer idea for weapons aiming has been done before. If they would be necromorphs, it's obvious why EA would sue them. Money

This necro was such a wasted potential. It could've been fully-fledged boss Dead Space 2 lacks so much instead of a bunch of quick time events.
I actually prefer the brief encounter. It was an unforgettable moment and a great enemy in my opinion. Which I think shows how well implemented it was due to the impact it left in such little time.

I liked this necromorph with a name like that you would think it would attack multiple times throughout the game but no they decided a one time thing. In a fanfic I had the Tormentor have more of a presence chasing another small group of people, till the end of the story.
