- This particular necromorph stalks the area with many others of its kind in search of human survivors to turn. However, this isnt just your typical run up and slash necromorph. Looking like a slasher it posses another form of attack which gives it range, the Acid ball. This ball damages any RIG being worn and applied directly to skin can be detrimental. So lets get into what makes this creature such a issue to deal with in groups!

Dead space should give you access to their necromorph models so you can analyze them without constantly having to freeze them.

It looks like both spitter types in DS2 seem to be naked. I wonder if before death, the feeling of not being able to breath properly, in concert with their mind already baked by the marker signal, caused them to tear off their clothes with the impression that their clothing was too tight or confining, possibly being affected by a feeling of smothering claustrophobia. Still having the same feeling after doing so, they went on to tear themselves open.

I agree, usually when you feel claustrophobic, you usually try to remove things that are causing the problem, which is a fair reason why the spitters are always nude when they died.
Or they were strippers/prostitutes. I mean, it might be space, but people are gunna people lol.

Glad I’m not the only one that when playing through all 3 Dead Spaces examined each Necromorph with gross curiosity. They are really fascinating and a great creature design.

Interestingly I have GERD. I've had it since I was a baby actually. 25 years later I have to use heartburn medicine to keep my stomach acid in check, although multiple things can cause you to produce excess acid, including stress and certain foods.

i always assumed it repurposed the breasts in earlier variants. i mean 9 times out of 10 the spitters are female.

7:38 start: If I had to guess, the new arms, the stabby stabbies, get a lot of their muscle mass from the old arms as well as from the back, as you suggested. The old arms look a fair size smaller than an average pair (maybe 10, 15-ish percent less mass?), especially in comparison to the rather healthy sized legs. Mayhaps the necrophage relocated a bit of extra mass from there while still leaving just enough to hold the skin around the chest cavity open? In addition to the muscles surrounding the spine, as you said, of course.
Could also be my eyes playing tricks on me. Who knows at this point, honestly.

11:04 when discussing pukers you claim that they're only male, however in chapter 2 of dead space 2 there's an audio log of a couple escaping a room in which the female is distraught about her mother while the male is focused on survival. if you explore the room and enter the bathroom you'll be confronted by a puker. I believe that this puker is the mother as there's no other bodies in the room and the audio log gives you the perception of the mother being infected.

It wasn't an audio log. It happens in front of isaac himself but he is stopped from helping by a spitter bursting through a door.
@@BigHailFan The slasher/spitter that bursts through the door as you approach that couple that's trying to flee, that's the the necromorph I always assumed was the mother. It has the high pitched scream that the former female necromorphs have.
The first time I played Dead Space and got to the medical deck, which is where you first start encountering the spitters with the higher pitched screams, my brain didn't immediately put 2+2 together that these were the former women crew members of the Ishimura. When it finally clicked, I remember being creeped out big time.
@@retrocny5625 I would also assume another "civilian" slasher to be that female the survivors are running from: as you aim to exit this room defeating the "half"-puker a female slasher rushes towards you screaming like crazy... but this also could be just one of these two civilians freshly mutated.

The dead space 3 spitter seems to be made from a mass grave. Probably in the aftermath of the kill order. That would explain the mismatch of body sections on this creature.

Thanks to Roanoke, whenever I play a game that has some pretty nasty monsters, I always examine the bodies. It makes you become more immersed in the game because, if you just merked frankenstein’s cancer tumor? I think anyone would be inclinded to look at it for a moment.

The feet are like that base on 2 possibility TIME and ENVIRONMENT
Vents are used to travel more on the ship. On the station u have more room to move around plus the out break is more recent
And this also reminds me of how much I miss the multiplayer vs mode of the 2nd game and wish they'd at least make a reboot of that and improve on it's quality (no Necromorphs players spawn sniping with spitters and lurkers from impossible to hit locations for humans)

The developers thought of everything with their anatomical structures
there is a also a tactical difference spitters are more suited for long range like snipers, but pukers seem more suited for mid to short range because at that range more of the puker's puke would hit the target.

I wonder what necromorphs would smell like? The books haven't even described that. Since bacteria probably wouldn't touch the bodies, there'd be no purification. But you'd still smell the sweet metallic smell of blood... And maybe the residual body order of the corpses when they were alive?
They probably just smell like corpses.
I read in Martyr that when Altman and his then fellow survivors encountered their first Slasher, its appearance was heralded by a faint odor of rotting meat.
So yeah, the zombies smell like zombies lol

I don't remember if you mentioned it or not but to add what you said about the Spitter variants being more "human" than the other Necros........I have noticed that they have more human voices as well when they charge. Especially the female ones. They sound almost completely human just gritty and mean as hell of course. Another observation that may have been mentioned already is The Dead Space 3 Spitter looks like a Demogorgon from Stranger Things but scarier.

I love your dead space videos though I believe you are missing the Medusa necromorph.
Dead Space is awesome but sometimes I forget how distressing it can be
I think that part of the reason why Spitters look different between games is a matter of time(if I am ignoring the concept of graphical limitations).
The Ishimura outbreak had a longer time to develop than the Tidman Station outbreak while the Tau Volantis creatures had more than a few years to develop. Given time and the right environment I would suspect that most Spitters would develop into those seen on the planet.
In the last video I watched he talked about how it would be difficult to hold your arms up like a slasher and I just tried it and my bone squeaked and now I’m scared

Just a thought for the version of spitter from ds3,it could be that given the environment of which the spitter is introduced to could vary the necromorph in general at least from what I've seen,but for the spitters on ds3 maybe theres also a chance it was to better aim being why it had 2 heads,I mean it plays part to why I mentioned environmental status but anyhow to prove this I wanna state given most of the game your out on a snow world which can always affect visibility tho I could be wrong just thought I'd give my thought on the third dead spaces version of the spitter and at least why they get two heads
Have baaaad GERD, can confirm it feels like spewing up your guts. It's also *VERY* goddamn painful. The esophagus, throat, and mouth do not have the necessary protective mucus, so getting stomach acid into the back of your throat results in basically chemical burns in your throat. I've woken up actually choking and unable to breathe because of acid in my throat, and once I cleared that, my throat felt like it was on fire and shredded using broken glass. I couldn't even speak because I could barely breathe due to the huge swelling and inflammation. I take medication every day now and sleep on a wedge pillow that lifts up my torso by 45 degrees, but every now and then I'll still get a bit of acid make it up my throat when I'm elevated or even while standing and walking around.
If these monster people have any nerves left at all, I'd guess that spitting stomach acid is ridiculously painful for them.
