The way the necromorphs get onto the Ishimura is borderline comedy; there are three crewships of survivors from the colony, they refuse to return to the planet's surface so the Ishimura opens fire on them. 1.)They completely destroy the first crewship which is full of innocent people 2.) They clip a second crewship causing it to crash into the Ishimura killing many of the innocent people on board 3.) But the third? Well done. You did your research and conveyed the information accurately! This is a great informational guide on the demise of the USG Ishimura from the Aegis VII incident.
Love this! Two technical critiques: a supernova would destroy the entire solar system, and you talk about the orbits of space ships like they have buoyancy. That's a cool perspective but the reality of orbital mechanics is even cooler!
I hope that one day we can get a MH episode on the dual tragedy of the lost starships Cygnus and Palomino. Just a typical tale of a mad scientist and his haunted house ghost ship patrolled by menacing kill-bots and automated by the undead remnants of the once-human crew. You know, Disney movie material.
Or how about the Legend of the Black Pearl? A Pirate vessel whose crew, having mutinied against its former captain, end up cursed to be immortal demon zombies, and had to hunt down every last bit of the cursed gold to return it to its rightful place and bring themselves back to life via a blood ritual involving a relative of one of their former crewmen. actually the ishimura was the first ship to employ asteroid harvesting tech. unless they changed that for the remake after learning that planet cracking is the DUMBEST way to get resources.
@@XH1927 because the ammount of energy require and ship enginnering required to crack a planet would make EVERY single crack a total waste of money. one of the reasons is that you actually need to go realy deep to get a ''good'' haul due to heavier and more valuable stuff being found closer to a planets core. in a asteroid you have even distribution wich means that even a rather small asteroid would be worth more than a entire cracked planet.
Some still say that a transmission from Ishimura does transmit "This is the USG Ishimura, we lost our bearings, this is the USG Ishimura, I repeat we have lost our bearings. Mayday!" Then the transmission just cuts out and the radio is fried as a result upon receiving transmission.

That's actually one of the big reasons the events of dead space even happened. The markers were bait for resource starved species. As soon as you tap into it, they know.
Holy crap I never looked at it like that way before
You literally just became my favorite maritime/disaster channel for this video. Good. On. You.
I would not use the word literally; but this does speak well for Current Channel, simply because it's not the Flying Dutchman.
To think that all this happened over 2000 years ago. My, how far we've come.
Most of the time, April Fools jokes make me roll my eyes to retina detachment. But this was gold.
I sincerely hope nobody downplays the horrific experiences of those who endured this event simply because of those who claim this isn't "entirely real". Shame on those who let such insignificant facts get in the way of true history.
What a wonderful Documentary, I will show this to my grandmother
Grandma would love
0:11 "several million light years from Earth" - That's outside our galaxy! Humankind has managed to cross the void between galaxies but their ships look like they were built literally a couple of decades from now.
They don't do research on astronomy it seems.

Man you're gonna love it here. I've been working on the ishimura for 2 years and it's been a blast. We just discovered an ancient relic on aegis 7, can't wait to analyse it
@@zaer-ezartInteresting, how's the crew holding up atm? Work must be tough.

as someone who has never played or even really thought about dead space until now, and only recently subscribed a few months(?) back, I am absolutely blown away at both the quality of the story writing and visuals used to make this video, and how incredibly plausible and realistic all the details sound
except also now very scared because I cannot handle horror for the life of me
overall, fantastic job on creating this though, 10/10
get dead space remake 😈 i can keep u company when u play
Yeah dont play Dead Space if you cant handle horror. The anxiety this game provides is a testament to how great of a story and game it was. Me and my best friend play Dead Space 2 every single year on Halloween.
Play the game! One of the most atmospheric games ever
Go play them -- they are probably better than anything new today.
I loved the first one better.. loved the ship and liked to look at the scene...
I tried the OG Dead Space 1 not too long ago. 15 minutes in and I couldn't keep going, my heart was just palpating too much from the friggin jumpscares
Fair winds and following seas to our fallen crewmates. Thank you for shining light into this tragedy.
Would love to see one about the _Event Horizon._ Nicely done once again!
Maybe next year.
And also one for the Antonia Graza.
I was one of the very few survivors from the Ishimura, I only got back a few weeks ago.. Still having nightmares
RIP to my fallen crewmates, ill never forget stomping you for ammo 😢
Its what they would have wanted, shipmate
Keep their memories alive, and you’ll make them whole again.

Did you know that the mission list has a hidden secret in it?? Just look closel bro!!!
No Return

Galactic Derailment

Unfortunately we will have to detain you since you now think you can earn credits by curb stomping babies.
I will never forgive EA for killing this amazing universe. Dead Space 3 was a hot corporate ruined mess.
I mean some of it wasn't that bad but the love triangle was so unnecessary
The fact that the ending was a great big fuck you is annoying. The whole game series was for nothing, humanity is doomed.
If Dead Space survived you would be a black lesbian with sideshow bob hair in a wheelchair who spouts endless exposition and technobabble whilst insufferably talking about pronouns. Thank Altman it ended when it did!
I actually liked DS3 the most - story was nice, action was good, lore was excellent, and i loved the tinkering with the guns, co-op was a nice touch as well. From all 3 DS games the third one seemed like the best of them also in terms of aviable mechanics to the players.
@@krzosu Bro got touched by the EA Marker and is delirious now
Maybe it's because I love these types of games, maybe it's because I love this channel, maybe it's a bit of both, but... MH's April Fool's episodes always fill me with a certain joy.
Boy oh boy I sure do love cracking open planets and finding a eldritch alien artifact.. what's that disembodied whispering telling me to kill?
Maximilian Schell is Best Schell. 1970s headshot already looks like a Gigchad.
My son is named after Maximilian the robot.
What movie is this?
I know someone else already asked, but what movie was this?
EDIT: Nvm, looked up the ships, it's called "The Black Hole".
You know, Disney movie material.
I’m thinking about making a journey to the Ishimura. My gf and I got in a fight before she left with the ship. I haven’t heard from awhile, I figure a surprise visit will cheer everyone up.
If anyone hasn’t played Dead Space: Extraction it’s a must. Not at all like the other games, it’s a rails shooter, but it tells the story of what actually happened on the Ishimura and it’s seriously sick
Honestly, I came for history content but I would absolutely love a series of sci-fi episodes, they are all interesting cases. Love your work anyway!
This is such a fun April Fools. Most people think a good joke is just: "Clickbait Title on Steroids". This is clever and well done.
not gonna lie the calm moments were more terrifying than the actual combat , the suspense was killing me
I loved that you're only ever attacked on an elevator once but for the rest of the game you never feel safe on one lol. The game is a masterpiece
This is excellent. Good on you bringing a little joy to people with your work.
My grandfather was a soldier on the USM Valor he was always so brave and when I heard that the Valor crashed into the Ishimura killing all on Board I was devastated, Grandpa always used to say back before his transfer from Head Security in Titan station "Dont open life pods without proper checking of the crew and its occupancy ive seen bad things come out of those" truly a loss😢
How old was gramps? Cause unless he was 16 when he had your father/mother then they were 16 when they had you, and you are only 8 years old is about the only plausibility of your gramps still being an active soldier, and even then he's getting long in the tooth. Or should I say WAS getting long in the tooth.
@@jamesb1988It's a fake post anyway. No Marine calls themselves a soldier, and the US Valor was a Marine ship.
All the rooms sound pleasent until you're running through them for your life, shooting off power tools
Most high effort april fools joke honestly found your channel through this and I am glad i did.
As a DeadSpace Fan, this was truly awesome dude. Loved every second of it.
Someone said their father was on this ship. My aunt was too, systems engineer. RIP aunty xoxo rest in power
One of the highlights of my YT year, I seriously enjoy these and look forward to them every year.
I've been waiting for this for a long time hoping that you will make an episode about USG Ishimura. You just made my day! Cheers!
There's always a crewman a day or week away from retirement when all hell breaks loose
The idea of the Ishimura just… floating out there in space… that’s fucking horrifying. No crew, no bodies. Just fleshy ooze, and dead silence…
Make us whole, Maritime Horrors
I adore your April Fools episodes! I think I initialy found your channel through the Pillar of Autumn video, then started slowly munching through your backlog of various Earth ship videos. I'd forgotten that you had done the April Fools videos, too, so this one was even a surprise 😅
actually the ishimura was the first ship to employ asteroid harvesting tech. unless they changed that for the remake after learning that planet cracking is the DUMBEST way to get resources.
How so?
@@XH1927 because the ammount of energy require and ship enginnering required to crack a planet would make EVERY single crack a total waste of money. one of the reasons is that you actually need to go realy deep to get a ''good'' haul due to heavier and more valuable stuff being found closer to a planets core. in a asteroid you have even distribution wich means that even a rather small asteroid would be worth more than a entire cracked planet.
@@Irobert1115HD Ah, I see. Thanks for the good answer 👍
@@Irobert1115HD
Apparently it was worth it, else they wouldn't do it...
@@Bollibompa it isnt. thats the problem. its bascialy a scifi myth hence why its in the game.
The haunting final transmission from the Ishimura: “Now… I die.”
Some still say that a transmission from Ishimura does transmit "This is the USG Ishimura, we lost our bearings, this is the USG Ishimura, I repeat we have lost our bearings. Mayday!" Then the transmission just cuts out and the radio is fried as a result upon receiving transmission.
Space is, after all, the ultimate maritime battlefield. You should do some more of these sci-if spacecraft videos from time to time. Great job!
"2508. I remember it like was yesterday, people in the Moon colonies just never stop talking about the "rumors" about what happened with the USG Ishimura. Damn, I lost two cousins there. EarthGov like usual made a investigation that lead to nowhere. What is happening out there, man? One of my cousins was a from the church of Unitology. Some look like good people, but they can be very 'pushy'. Every day I receive an invitation to join them. Without time for that, next week I travel to Io. So many job opportunities in Saturn. I will try my luck there!"
Excellent as always. I follow a couple disaster TH-camrs who do April fools videos. It's a great break from the regular stuff. Keep up the great work.
I really wish you’d make a second channel to go about things like this more frequently I really love these been waiting a year for another
I would also love for this to become a new track for his content, he's clearly quite good at it.
Huge dead space fan, thank you for this ❤
I having never played dead space came across this with no foreknowledge...now im delving into wikis and fan forums learning stuff, very fun ty!
To this day, I still have memories of the Dead Space between the Stars
This looks like it should be a halloween special with all the spooky aditions and editing, but great video anyway!
I'd honestly like if these movie and game ship videos came more than just on April Fools day. Really good stuff
HE'S BACK!!!!!!! We missed you!!!! So glad you came back for April Fools day, it wouldn't feel the same without you!
I love Dead Space, this was a fantastic surprise.
my husband was onboard the ishimura. he left behind two amazing children. we've tried to heal and hold him in our hearts as best we can, but i doubt anything will Make Us Whole again...
The video has been up for a year - late to the joke much 🫢
I think you should consider doing Space Station 13 for an April fools in the future. It would certainly be difficult due the the nature of the game, with the station's demise playing out differently in every round played. But a station destroyed by a mix of wizards, cultists, terrorism, and good old incompetency all at once just sounds fun.
I was already following this channel and loving the videos. But now that I see you're also a fellow Dead Space fan, you are an absolute GOD, sir. And not a world-destroying Eldritch god either. Certainly not a Brethren Moon. You're one of the good gods, sir.
This channel always satisfies. Great episode!
Tragic loss, the members of its valiant crew will be remembered!
May the families of those lost find peace!
Horrendous. I served on her for a while, never forget the things I saw. The CEC doesn't care about us survivors either. Thanks for shedding light on this catastrophe.
I look forward to your April 1st videos every year.
I cant believe they made a game based off this
One of my favourite TH-camrs and one of my favourite ever games! Amazing video as always!
It's an annual event now and mightily anticipated.
Thank you for entertaining us with such a well put together event.
I'm looking forward to the next video with my only hope being that it's not too far away. 😊😊😊
Thank you! Last April fools when you did the bistro o I hoped you’d do this ship and even commented! So happy to see it come true!
This was honestly so well done, who knew pranks could be so beautifully done
You've made us whole again with your video today.
We gotta be in a bad spot if even the Solar systems asteroid belt isn’t enough
I’m a big fan of Dead Space so I’m super happy to see that the Ishimura was chosen for this year’s April Fool’s video!
This was so much fun. I would suggest doing more. Especially if you enjoy them
Great video, no Dead Space in it at all, just constant narration, All your videos are great, very in depth.
Bro I am so fucking happy to see a video come out today from you, I was worried we weren’t gonna get one. Thank you for telling the story of this tragic loss, respect on their MF names for real!
I'd like to think this was a nice change of pace for you. Great video once again!
Pretty sure the message to take from the games story as well as similar ones, is that mysterious artifacts of unknown origin and purpose never cause problems and should always be brought on board, never restricted in any way.
I feel like this is the most realistic ship in any science fiction story and one that entirely plausible to build.
TBH the april fools episodes are some of the channel's best videos
This was actually a great video, well done!
@6:23 I love how it took nearly 200 engineers to keep this thing running…. or just one.
Truly awesome! I always look forward to your April Fools post! So well thought through! Looking forward to what April fools 2024 holds!
What no one tells you about the USG Ishimura is that there's a living god onboard, invulnerable to harm while rumors abound that the Marker can vanish at leisure.
At least on my go, had a dude A pose, break scripting and become untouchable, I was in tears for 10 mins. Then the Marker later bugged out of existence after the final Hunter fight, thank god reloading the save worked else it'd have been a full restart. Great vid tho, perhaps the story of the Orca next time?
Recently played Dead Space Remake and Google got sniff of it so recommended me this video, I I thought this is some serious video game lore channel. Imagine my disappointment when I found out that this was just an April fools video and the channel mainly covers real life maritime accidents
But in all seriousness, great content. I'm on a binge watch marathon
Can't wait for your April Fools 2024 video
my grandfathers daughters son was stationed on the Ishimura, he's never been the same since. because he died.
So... you died? RIP.
I love that these videos are less joke and more just deep dive lore videos into these ships.

The quick flashes of the marker and Isaac remind me of the cuts in the event Horizon well done video my guy always love seeing a new post from you
I would kill for a second channel with just syfy ship maritime horrors
The fact I watched your Edmund Fitzgerald video and then saw this in my suggested video immediately earned a subscriber. I am already enamored by your videos man. Keep doing what you’re doing!
