    SO appreciative for this video -- thanks for the useful comments, clear shots, and product recommendations. Really well done and it was like hanging out with a friend in their garage learning how to do something the right way.

    3-M makes emblem cement for putting on badging, although there's little difference between that and the weatherstrip cement. I am putting new weatherstripping on the driver's door of my 1977 Electra as the 40 year old rubber is disintegrating and there's too much wind noise. I always use masking tape as a guide when glueing on emblems, as I would never get them on as straight as you did in this video. That Chevy is looking better all the time. You do great paint jobs and probably should open up your own shop.

    You use a rough paper towel to wipe off the liquid from your freshly polished paint. Then, you wipe the same spot with your oily hands...
    afterwards, you drop all these rough items on the hood of the car.

      Cool story bro, what did you paint? Once the car paint has been baked, it's quite durable. You'd know that if you ever got your hands dirty....

    Never, ever, ever wipe your car with a rough paper towel. Use microfiber always.

    • @HagakureJunkie

      Oh really? So the car paint that can handle grease and road debris and everything else OUTSIDE can't handle a paper towel? Fuck off troll.

      @@HagakureJunkie You can use paper towels on your car. But even if he was wrong, that paper towels don't contain wood particles, other fillers and sometimes even fiberglass, why are you so aggressive and immediately go to name-calling?
      Also, what do you mean paint can "handle" road debris? Road debris isn't good for paint either. Maybe you're the one who is the troll.

      This is serious guys, I used paper towel on my car once and blew a head gasket, ended up costing me thousands. Please just be safe and always use microfiber cloths.

    • @shawonr3325
      @shawonr3325 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@HagakureJunkie lol you guys should actually look it up. it's not that the paper towel itself is too rough and will damage the car, but it will drag along fine dirt and debris that's on the paint and create minor swirl marks and scratches in the gloss. a microfiber has the fuzzy fibers which trap the dirt in more so they aren't being dragged directly on the car's paint. it's not trolling just an actual car care fact. go ask any reputable car wash/detailer and they will tell you only use microfibers to wipe.

    There is a better way. 3m press and place transfer adhesive. No double sided foam no trimming. Just reapplied my Rocky Mountain badge on my Grand Cherokee and you can't tell the difference. This stuff isn't thick like double sided tape and looks fantastic.

      mrmkc2 a better way is take fishing line cut you off a foot of it. Wrap one side around your left hand finger then wrap the other end around your right hand pointer finger. Run the line in between the car and the badge in a sawing motion till the badge comes off. Remember to go slow cos it heats up and can burn through the fishing line.
