Excelent stuff! It's very important to have good instructions like this available online made by the manufacturer themself, so people don't have to trust some random dude on youtube trying to figure out himself what to do 😅

Hello! Could you put together a list of useful tools to have for velomobile maintenance for different models? Could you maybe even offer toolkits for sale? I'm pretty sure I'd buy one :)

As much as this video is interesting, it shows a redesign of the strut , plate and assembly would be valuable. These operations shall be more easy to perform . You would save time in assembly and customer too in maintenance. Like why not having the nuts under the steering plate instead of above?
I am no expert but I really feel there is room for improvement.
Also, crazy expensive idea: make the wheelarch of the milan larger so that it is possible to unmount the wheel like on the Alpha9 (not need to make it 80 cm large 😁)

If you check the alignment, should you not take into account that the wheels tip in with the top a little bit? This suggests that you should not expect the same value, measuring from the center of one tyre to the other at the front, the rear and in the middle (in the middle, it will be a bit more). Correct?

Jan- great tutorial. I learned a lot. You stated you would put the tire-to-tire measurements in the comment section. I cannot find them.

I think my way is easier to loose the steering or trailing arm at an SL: I have bend an 8mm spanner by 90 degree and cut the arm of an 1/4inch ratchet down to about 8cm. the spanner is held from the opposite site you use. Move the wheel to the outer sidewall . Than you have enough space for your hand and ratchet in the wheelhousing to move and loose the nut. If the nut is a bit loose you can move both spanner and ratchet for losing the nut faster.

Tanks Jan, great video! When checking the tracking, if you discover the wheels are 'tie in' or 'toe out', I presume that adjustments need to be made. Am I right that the steering rods need some adjustment? How is this actually done? Perhaps this is the subject of another video? Perhaps it would be easier to show on a velomobile with exposed wheels (like an Alpha & or DF)?
Does the trail arm also need adjusting? I can imagine that the trail arm and steering arm work together to an extent. Am I right that the trail arm adjusts the 'caster' of the wheel - in other words, its front to back positioning? Is there a recommended setting for each model of velomobile?

Hi Jan, nice of you to explain and show things, but what I miss is the fine adjustment with left and right threads, in one steering rod, so that the tracking is perfect. A velomobile is expensief.
We buy them, in order to reach a high speed with relatively little power, but we do not have the possibility to adjust the tracking properly.
At the end you measure the track with a tape measure, while we know that a Quest and Strada can be adjusted without load, but an Alpha and Milan must be adjusted with load.
When are you going to perform a steering rod with left and right thread. I have been using this for years on the velomobiles that I repair.
I get a lot of velomobiles in my workshop where the tracking is not right and that costs tires and energy.

Hello Jan, your point about learning to do velomobile maintenance is well-taken. During the intro to your video, at minute 0:05, there is a view of several blue work stands occupied by various velomobiles, off to the right of the frame. Are you able to say anything about what kind of work stands those are? Were they made originally for motorcycle work and then modified? Thanks.

I cannot find anymore where we bought this motorbikelifts. we bought something similar www.matthys.net/en/motorcycle-lift-700-kg-1225069 but we have a buton where we press on to lift or lower the velomobile. After we bought it we modified it heavily

@@VelomobileWorld Thanks, Jan. I've been looking at similar devices that are available here, in the U.S., but none that I've seen are quite what I'm looking for. Nobody makes a lift that is made expressly for velomobiles... yet. Maybe, someday. I think the world will need to change a great deal, before one can purchase such a thing and use it right out of the box. In the meantime, I will probably end up building one from scratch.
