    can we have tri spoke carbon rims 406 in front and rear 700c tri spoke ? bescardi, dahon, light bycle, nextie got those. Trispoke wheels have a lower drag coefficient, and are therefore faster in a straight line. they are superstiff and can carry loads of 150kg in rear. wonder what kind of hub would fit into ?

      @@VelomobileWorld i posted the link, i believe youtube does not like links. just google "Falcon Pro WHEEL Trilight-C21 light bycicle" you can ask them to make sturmey archer hub for front or the df rear 32 hub. tri spoke is low maintance. you dont need to check spoke tension. and the aerodynamic gains are huge.

    Hello Jan, why not a Gates belt? It's much lighter. Such a long chain also has weight. My idea is a belt drive

      @@oliverhofmann2908 gates belt length can’t be adjusted once installed I believe. The bottom bracket needs to move to adjust the reach for different sized riders. You also can’t use belts with derailleurs. The majority of Velomobiles use single sided rear swingarms. That allows changing rear tire/tube without removing the wheel and allows a fully enclosed drivetrain. That would all have to be completely redesigned for a belt drive and you’d lose the easy tire changes, fully enclosed drivetrain, and a bunch of cargo space for a double sided swingarm. With the enclosed drivetrain a properly maintained chain can easily last 5-10,000 miles. A belt drive would increase complexity and mean you’d have to fully redesign all the current Velomobiles. The weight savings wouldn’t be that big when you take into account having to add a rohloff, which also can’t be used with single sided rear swingarms.

    The problem I see with tank steering is that you are obliged to have two hands to control the velomobile, with a tiler one hand can do it !?

      @@laurentrouchairoles8271 it is possible to operate tank steering with one hand. The action is not so heavy as you think. However, it is a good idea to have 2 hands for braking. You still have the option for tiller steering. Tiller is my personal preference.

      Any modifications to the DFXL would come from InterCity Bike. Ymte is in charge of the design for DFXL/DF and Tuna.

    Do we have any idea, how hard it will be for a dealer to retrofitt this to the 4 More? I am thinking about getting a Bülk Original (or Bülk Rekord) for speed and a 4 More for utility and I do prefere dual stick steering (still need to try the Bülk version, but I think I would want both rides with the same kind. I begrudgingly understand that you don't offer it from the factory, but I hope to get it anyways, if I should go for it.

    Ik begrijp dat jullie vooral de QV niet meer willen maken, omdat die minder eenvoudig is. Dit is echter één van best verkopende velomobielen en dan ga je juist die uit het programma gooien??? Vreemd, het heeft dus niets met aantallen te maken. Maar waarom dan ook stoppen met de Snoek?? Ook dit is één van de best verkopende velomobielen. Je zou bijna vermoeden dat het hier gaat om €€€€ Van de Bülk en de Milan hebben jullie volgens mij de licentie en dan wordt daar waarschijnlijk meer aan verdiend. Is dit nou gewoon een (on)handige manier om van je concurrent af te komen??? Dat verhaal over focussen op een paar modellen is sowieso vreemd met al die 9-modellen.

    As a QV owner I am sorry that you will no longer be making them, but I do understand. When you have to much work to do, either standards slip, you expand (if you are able to), but that carries the risk of work reducing and having too bigger workforce, or you 'Manage' your workload to a manageable level. Something has to go . . . . . . My own line of work has the same core issue: To much to do, not enough bodies to do it. Wages have gone up, income has not gone up at the same pace, so we have fewer people doing more work. As a result, standards have really slipped. No right answers here, just "Least Worst Answers."

      I get where you're coming from as a QV owner. But expanding to have a bigger workforce, which costs more and is a hassle to manage, isn't always great. During COVID, we had two shifts and almost 50 employees. It was a huge challenge, and I couldn't maintain the standards I wanted over the long term. We aim for a company culture that mixes quality and fun. To deliver the quality we want and enjoy our work, we had to make some changes.

    That is really too bad because I got an Alpha 7, which was unrideable when I got it and took 6 months to regear it (in addition I received it with a gearset that was different than what I specifically requested) and make it able to be ridden without the chain falling off and jamming constantly and had to purchase two new wheels because I didn't know how to properly remove them, which caused the nuts to be stripped. Then I bought a Snoek, and it was perfect, about 10x better than the Alpha 7 in every aspect, fit my body perfectly, removable bottom so I can use feet to reverse instead of wheelchair mode which doesn't work with a hood, adjustable seat for different rider heights, way faster, reliable (the only thing I have had to do in 18 months is shorten the chain).

    Associer la fiabilité et la légèreté est d’accord ! la simplicité . Mais encore ?!. Pas évident. Surtout comme le QV quatre vélo qui as ses 10 ans . Peu de défauts. Très bonne tenue de route et confortable. Les Quest de formidables Vm . Bon rebond et maturité dans vos conceptions qui déjà étaient correctes. Plus de résistance dans des axes de roues, roulements plus fiable… Et puis Sauf les premiers Snoek où la fougue était à fond 😉.

    That is really sad. The Snoeks were very exciting velomobiles. But maybe another company starting to also make the best velomobiles in the world will help you. (Competition is supposed to be good for the market.) So far it is been very easy. Any really fast reliable and light velomobile has been built by you.

      Thanks for the compliments. I agree the Snoek is a good velomobile. We need to focus only on some things in order the things we do become better and better. I and the team had the focus spread to thin and it is not funny to keep to much balls up for to long. The pleasure of building velomobiles are dissapearing if you do that to long. That's why we took this decision

      Inderdaad. Vreemd verhaal. Fenn en intercitybikes komen ook regelmatig met nieuwe modellen. Ik wens jullie veel succes en geluk. Ik hoop echt dat het jullie lukt om efficiënter (en goedkoper?) uitstekende velomobielen te (blijven) maken. Ik hoop dat jullie meer rust en ruimte voor andere dingen dan werk vinden. Toch bekruipt velen in de velombielwereld het gevoel dat er meer aan de hand is dan uit de video blijkt. Waarom juist gekozen voor het opzeggen van de samenwerking met velomobiel . nl?

Toch hebben velen in de velomobielwereld de indruk dat er meer achter het stoppen met juist velomobiel.nl zit dan wat in deze video naar voren komt.

    I am very proud to have the last (at least I think) Strada built by velomobileworld. Number 322. Bought this year and I Iike the manoeuvrability and stability (and I don't especially go for speed). The Urban looks a bit like the Strada, but number 300 isn't built yet. I think it's sad that all those models disappear, but I understand that it is inevitable. If it was not necessary, there will come a competitor who will sell those models 😂.....

    hello Jan urban/4more is defintly much better then SL or regular bulk cuz wider track(70cm), more cornering speed, easy maintance and better performance in snow or gravel roads with open wheels also smaller turning radius in city. what we need RIGHT NOW is the ability to put the wide pants(hosen) on bulk urban with ease can you make it with big magnets inside the wheel arch or small screws, in case if we wanna go faster in summer we can put those pants on and off in winter season where its more mudy on the road. also make the front access much larger so we can place our luggage in front.

      The bulk with adapters will work and the Snoek. But in general the velomobiles are made for taller persons

    Sad to hear that one of the fastest vehicles goes out of production. I probably wouldn't fit in anyway (even the Bülk seems a little too tight for me). Seems like the Snoek killed it.

      I think it’s the Mk1 that killed the SL. The standard tiller version is so similar that I wondered where the SL should go. I am curious what will happen to the GT. That’s still an option for large people but the Mk1 with tank steering is nearly as roomy.

      Yes. It was the Bülk that replaced the SL. The Bülk can fit a much larger number of people and it is as fast as the SL unless you can ride 50kmh or more for a long time. I think also people are more interested in really practical Velomobiles now that are very efficient instead of just Velomobiles for racing.

      @@mnveloguy thats complete bullshit! in racing you got lots of corners wider wheel distance on urban/4more wil increase your overall speed, in milan i always had to slow down to 17 mph not to tip over now i go 21 mph in the df which i placed lower to the ground. it will increase your overall speed.

    I think it would be interesting to include a really short interview with the future owner of the bike of the week to see why they chose this model and how they plan to us wit.

      The owner is way too shy for that. That‘s why he has chosen a bülk: drive with closed lid the whole time even in summer sweating like crazy and especially when crossing the path of billions of tourists in interlaken, where he lives nearby. The owner wants to commute a nice flat 50 km route (such exist even in switzerland) and travel in the little spare time. He’s is a quite lazy one: so a large opening to get in and out and an ultra comfortable seat with a relaxed medium reclined position were mandatory. Colour and design have the intention to de-escalate (auto)mobile situations and brighten up the mood. 😊

    I think Germany is the only country in the world that has those stupid restrictions on bicycle lights. No blinking allowed since it could disturb our precious car drivers. For that reason I order all my bike lights from Dutch dealerships. But please do not tell anyone or I might get arrested.
