    I'm using the Zee brakes and they are absolutely amazing. I am a big guy who just got back into riding and the mechanical disc that came on my bike we're not stopping me fast enough. I did my research and found Zee to be the best upgrade. Saint was just too expensive for the very minimal increase in extras be hi

    Another awesome product review. wanted to let you know that Marck From Colombia reminded me that I too considered your research when buying my groupset.

    I race downhill for 3-4 years and I use the Shimano xtr 10 speeds cassette 11-36t very strong. Never had problem with that so I recomand: xtr 10 speeds cassette, zee dh rear derailleur, saint shifter, saint brakes and zee crankset.

    ZEE DH and FR derailleurs have exactly the same cage. The difference is mounting part, where derailleur mounts to hanger.

    With Zee just buy the rear derailleur and shifter, you can get better cranks and brakes, tough I'm using the FR.

    Difference between DH and FR derailleurs are that the FR will have a spacer in b-nuckle to add more b-tension.

    • @3g0r3
      @3g0r3 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      The "spacer" isn't to set tension neither is the associated B-Screw that people think that what it's for. The spacer and B-Screw are to adjust the top pulley gap to the largest cog on the cassette to allow different cassette sizes to be used. i.e 23, 25, 28T.

    zee and Saint are actually slx and xt slightly modified, just the brakes are unique for these groupsets.

    • @thelawnet
      @thelawnet 6 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      not exactly.
      Shifters: When the current Saint groupset for MY 2012/13, the current shifters were M780 for XT and M980 for XTR.
      The Saint M820 shifters were actually based off the XTR M980 shifters, including features such as dimpled levers and 4-bearing construction (the XT level has only 2-bearings). However they are a little heavier because no carbon fibre.
      So for 10-speed shifters, Saint & XTR are the best on the market, and better for sure than XT (they are also longer levers so more leverage).
      The Zee meanwhile is the same as the Deore & SLX 10-speed shifters. There's no difference between the three of them, it's just that Zee lacks the optical display.
      RD: The Saint RD is based off the refreshed XT M786 R/D, it's just that this is the short cage version (XT is only available in medium/long-cage).
      The Zee RD is a short cage version of the SLX M785 R/D but it uses some more aluminium and less steel, so it's a bit upgraded.
      Brakes:
      The callipers are identical between Saint, Zee, and XT M8020 (NOT the standard M8000)
      Brake levers
      The Zee levers are Deore level, the Saint levers are XT level.
      Cranks:
      these are single-ring and heavier and different between the Zee/Saint & normal MTB groups.

    I have zee brakes on my enduro bike and slx brakes on my hardtail. The slx brakes feel really weak after switching bikes because the zee's allow me to stop so much faster. I have never felt the brakes fade like my old deores or guides, even when doing long downhill runs on hot 90°F days. Solid stuff!

      EatSleepMoguls Lower groupset = weaker components. Simple.

    This is more of a overview( a general review or summary of a subject.) than a review.( a formal assessment or examination of something with the possibility or intention of instituting change if necessary.)
    1:50 I prefer Absolute black Oval bashguide
    one thing to notice is that the new xt m9000 four piston brake basically replaces the Saint brakes, as do the new XTR.

    Since I'm quite new to the component thing, could someone answer me if the Zee shifter works with a deore dereillieur? Reason for asking is that I plan on building myself a 26" hardtail with a 1x10 drivetrain and the Zee shifter is far cheaper than a deore or xt shifter where I am from and the reason for the deore dereillieur is that I plan on using a 11-42T casette. Thanks in advance.

      @raupenimmersatt6906 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Rodzee Mateo Dependse on your inseam lenght and your bike.
      I hardtail is good for longer cranks a full sus. Not so because the BB drops more when u get on the bike.
      And also depends where and what you ride: For tech stuff( up and down) smaller cranks... More XC oriented longer cranks

    Shimano brake housing is too fragile in my opinion, ok for moat of us, but for those hard riding people who crash a lot they might ruin brake houses fast. they scratch very easily, I can see marks after just few rides, so too many hits from rocks and they might be ruined.

  • @peaohvee1784

    @2:56 don't blow off reeride like that. Freeride is freeride. Zee and saint are not for enduro. An enduro groupset is XT or SLX, not even XTR. From what i've seen XTR is typically seen on trail or xc bikes. Zee and Saint are for dh or freeride. nothing else
