As someone who works behind a desk...I am fairly handy though this took me 50 minutes from start to finish. The video helps tremendously and Firestone charged me 350 bucks 2 years ago. And I was waiting for 2 and a half hours. I would recommend buying the hose clamp remover tool for 25 bucks if you don't have one. Love you mechanics posting these videos
Great video! Best tutorial for replacing the coolant system housing on the Internet. Two things to point out. One is the torque wrench specifications, for those who are not familiar with this tool. The video creator specified 71 inches pounds. There is a difference between foot pounds and inch pounds. Make sure to have the correct torque wrench or you could unknowingly overtighten the bolt and break the fastener or housing. If you don't have a torque wrench, two turns past snug will do. Second is the drain plug to drain the coolant is on passenger side of the car.
I wanna be serious one time man I really appreciate you for making this video I feel even more of a man today I literally just did this water outlet replacement by myself your the truth man you helped me in life this is something we need to know as men and I appreciate you…. You’ve taught someone today and I succeeded

Great video. I bought an upgraded aluminum version of this part. Would you still torque to 71 inch pounds even though it’s aluminum? I can’t decide whether that would make a difference.
Used your video yesterday as a step by step and it took all of 30 minutes time to replace this and had time to replace a headlight bulb as well before dark. Thanks a ton.
Tip. Either don't remove the tip off of the overflow hose and use it again or just go ahead and buy a new hose. The tip has a plastic insert and it breaks easily. Found out the hard way.
I have a 2016 Chevy Cruze. This piece was broken and replaced it on my own watching this Vid. Before replacing it though, I was driving and had to pull over cause the check engine light came on that it was overheated. I discovered that the plastic piece itself was cracked, so I replaced it. After replacing it though, the car will not start :/ Any ideas on what the cause of this may be? The engine turns over, but won't start. Battery is good, car has gas. No idea on what it could be 😒
#TRQ please read to the end! Need advice. I've replaced the same part once, maybe twice. I just ordered one today but canceling it because I ordered the gasket instead because the gasket is broke. My only thing is, the surface of the motor that you cleaned off, it doesn't look even on my mom's car. Thinking I may need to put a straight edge on it and see if it's warped or not. Also, I didn't have a torque wrench so I may have either overtightened it or maybe didn't get it tight enough. I'll find out Thursday how it goes once the gasket comes in. It's always something with the car. I'll probably take a video of it running Thursday bc it's making a sound that I can't figure out. Could be due to me jacking the motor up once to work on the belt. Need some advice on it. 2015 cruze 1.4
Hey TRQ! Thanks for the video, made repairing my wife's 2011 cruze 110% easier watching your video. Only thing I'm seeing is there was a tiny bit of leaking around that last connection for the overflow that stopped once the system had pressure again, is that a cause for concern?
Hey I replaced the coolant housing and I discovered the hose in the back that leads to the car like it's going into the dash is blown it need to be replaced. What's it called and how do you do it. Please help
Hello my top small diameter hose that goes to reservoir is leaking at the outlet does the whole water outlet need to be replaced will it included everything that is needed or do I still need to buy hose assembly that goes to reservoir
Alright. SOS HELP!! I did just this, and for some reason, the car just died after 10 seconds after I replaced the oil cooler inlet hose and what could my issue be?? A connector not working? Connector not connected correctly? Please let me know cuz I am at a loss
Did you notice the engine oil sitting in the air intake, looks like turbo is failed. Just did coolant outlet on wifes car and found good amount of oil.

Seems like an easier job. Just saved me $400 that was quoted by a local shop

I had to do one of these today. The space is so tight when replacing the hose or tightening them up.
Very good demonstration. If you don't mind, what brand are your standard and remote hose clamp pliers? They are better than what I have.

Does anyone know the name of the hose that he used the clamps on to remove the clamps and slide off the hose?
do you have to drain the coolent before hand or no, just keep how it is?
6:10 shows a metal hair pin connector, but then 7:10 it's no longer there...?
You don't have to purge the cooling system after? I've always done it, is it just a waste of time?
Does this housing regulate the water flow as if there was a thermostat or is thermostat somewhere else
Thanks so much
This video helped me with my 2011 Chevy Cruze
Thanks just for mine because you made it look so easy
Get the hose clamp pliers! Worth it for just this job, then you have them for every hose you pull.

Can you tell me the tools you use in this video
+@elpollotote6102 The tools used can be found linked in the description!
Don't forget to release the air with the bleed screw when filling...
Does this line have to be flushed with water?
Broke mine today on the way home. Finally have the ZZP housing on the way. I loathe this car!
Did you notice the engine oil sitting in the air intake, looks like turbo is failed. Just did coolant outlet on wifes car and found good amount of oil.
Got some oil coming into the intake aye bud?
Perfect! That was amazing 😮
Where’s the thermostat in all this?
I just replaced mine and it keeps entering limp mode
Just found this problem
Can this dex cool not just get swapped out for yellow coolant?
no make sure its dex cool or youll have a huge issue
Why not show everybody exactly where your working at what a waste of time.
Soooo many clamps, hoses and connectors to take off.. 🫤 Not sure if I can remember where each of them go back on to. Seems daunting
