    I love seeing SD40s working hard up a grade or even hearing the whine of the dynamic brakes going down a grade. Two thumbs up Jack!

    Enjoyed this video. The UTAH Railway
    SD 40’s have always attracted me. The
    only thing I like better than the sound of turbocharged EMD’s is the sound of
    them in Run 8!

    What is so fantastic about this video is there no downtime those EMD SD40-2s are wailing all through the video you have to turn it up loud and you'll remember how emd's sounded. Thanks for sharing this Utah Railroad video

    Maybe it is because I'm old but nothing beats old school rail Vids. Is this line still in use today?

    • @1jackdk
      @1jackdk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      AMEN, ASRP. I'm right with yah on the old school stuff. Tired of seeing the same stuff running the rails for years now. This rail line is still used, but no where near like it was 20 years ago. It is now Union Pacific. Utah railway was taken over by the GW Group, and from what I understand, the coal is done down that way. So its a shell of its old self. Thanks for watching.

    I'm like number 200! Great channel you have. And thanks for preaching Christ and Him crucified for our sins. Buried and rose again on the third day, according to Scripture.

      Thank you #200, and glad you enjoy the channel. Roger that my brother. There is no doubt in my mind the Bible is true. There are over 300 prophecies in the Old Testament 1000 years before the fact, of the birth, death, and resurrections of Christ Jesus with pinpoint accuracies on locations and dates. Thanks for watching...

    Those are SD40s, or SD40-2s?
    Or both?
    Couldn't get a good look at the locomotive platforms to tell the difference. Great paint scheme Utah Railway had.

      Hi Tommy, ALL those units are straight SD40's. All from CSXT. 9001-9008 are ex-C&O, 9009 is ex-CRR, 9010 is ex-L&N, and 9011 is ex-WM. Yes, you are correct. That is a great paint scheme. Thanks for watching TT.

    What’s soldier summit

    • @1jackdk
      @1jackdk  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Soldier Summit is the fifth highest mountain crossing on a U. S. western transcontinental railroad route. ... Helper, so named for its role as the place where Rio Grande added helper locomotives, marks the start of the hard westbound climb over Soldier Summit's east slope.
