Not really the "only" Batman is a serious hero it requires a more serious aproach to it, same with the punisher and many others, watchmen was serious, spiderman is not that of course you have to embrace the fun part.
Not denying the “joyless person” part, but I did say Marvel’s genius move was embracing the ridiculousness of it all, so I definitely don’t think superheroes need to be serious. On the contrary, they’re inherently cheesy and cartoonish and there’s nothing wrong with that. But if you want to make a serious film and not just a superhero film, Batman is the way to go.

You might be taking this video a bit too seriously yourself. I said you can't make a serious Spider-Man film. I never said I expected otherwise or that I hated that about the character or that "all superhero films should be serious." The fact that later I gave Marvel props for understanding that about their characters should prove that I am not against it at all.
