  • If you hate that blur, ghosting or jitter effects in the DJI Osmo Action 4 as much as we do, this might be a good workaround settings for you. After a lot of fiddling with custom Sharpness settings, and frame by frame footage analysis, we found out that the RockSteady EIS may not be so bad after all! Instead, we thought that the culprit to the blurring and jitter effect could be due to the Sharpness, noise reduction and whatever digital signal processing (DSP) is happening to the footage. How we realised it is when after viewing frame by frame, we noticed that during bumps, the image actually went soft, EIS compensated, then within a frame or two, the image enhancements like sharpness and edge contrast toggled back on. This effect created that jitter and blurring effects during bumps which we hated very much. In this review & test, we mounted the DJI Action 4 on a bicycle, and tested low light, night shoot, with Sharpness settings dialled all the way down to -2 custom settings. We thought we liked the look, and that it reduced the jitter-blur effects during stabilisation. Have a look and tell us if you agree or disagree with our findings.
