The depiction of him in the game Hades is spot on for me in that regard. Like... He was never supposed to be the literal "devil" pop culture made him into. He is just a dude chilling in the Underworld. The worst he has done is binding Persephone to the Underworld by giving her a pomegranate or whatever, I think. Everything else happened because other gods messed up.

@@Zephirite. i think most retelling say that she didn't do it willingly. But Hades usually twisted her words on that afterwards, because she did take the seeds on her own. Some retellings say, Persephone knew what those seeds would do and took them purposefully. But that might be a translation error of sorts, because it might have gotten mixed up with Persephone willingly following Hades to the Underworld. Whatever the case actually would have been, Hades treated Persephone with true respect and love, which makes him stand out from most gods.

Honestly I think it'd be funny if, with Hades having this sorta theme, Persephone still had ominous harbinger vibes. She was called Dread Persephone and was associated with the Cthonic stuff long before Hades was around historically, after all, her being brought down there by Hades is more of a retcon.

To me, Hades always seemed like a kind person, at least compared to most gods. Ofc he is not perfect, made his own mistakes and such (I don't really remember many stories about him, but I do sort of remember that he took Persephone to the Underworld and most of the time does not want her to leave his side), but he is not a bad guy. He is probably just usually viewed as a bad and dark person, because he rules over a part of the Underworld which can seem menacing and creepy, even though death is part of life for mortal beings.

@@SatomiAnzuko_chan haha, thank you 🥰 i looked into Hades a bit more. Turns out the only real "bad thing" he has ever done was binding Persephone to the Underworld by giving her pomegranate seeds or something like that. He did "just take her" to the Underworld, but that wasn't his own decision but much rather was it Zeus who told him to do so. I forgot why though. Apart from that, he didn't do much. Hades is also apparently somewhat of a young deity, way younger than Persephone and Demeter. The Underworld was originally Poseidon's domain. No idea why and how Hades came into the picture. Oh and fun fact: Persephone's "nicknames", Kore e.g., apparently all more or less meant something like "girl", "maiden" or "mistress". She was hardly ever called Persephone, which might be caused by some type of great respect and even fear she evoked in people.

Wow, you'd usually expect something dark and menacing for the God of the Underworld, but this is such a refreshing change of pace! It's a reminder that for most mortals, death and the afterlife are peaceful... and it also calls to mind the image of freshly uncovered gemstones glinting in torchlight, fitting given that Hades is also God of the Earth's Hidden Wealth!

You know, if you ever wanted to write a musical about Hades and Persephone, you’d already have a great head start. That was really beautiful!

Hearing Hades's melody like that made me wish to hear a love song between him and Persephone where her melody (while distinct from his) compliments each other.

Hades' music sounds like it could have a musical of its own! Honestly I wish he made it in the God Games (Or maybe hes in some part of EPIC, idk), but I'll trust your judgement on this one lol.

Hades’ is one of the most beautiful things I have ever heard. It’s gorgeous and encompasses the gentleness and finality of death rather than the evil and dark Hades that is usually placed in pop culture.
I hope that if an instrumental album ever happens, after all is said and done with Epic, that his cut part of God Games makes it in as a cut bonus track.

I really like how Hades flow of the beat has both the vibe of hopeful, peaceful, restful afterlife, while also have that feeling of pulling you forward, as death comes to everyone. It also sounds more like the underworld than death itself, which shows Hades is the god of the *dead*, not of *death*

      Who also loves their wife?

I can imagine Hades dancing with Persephone to this music. Also, makes sense that he's not in the games. I don't think he'll need to be convinced. Odysseus desperately wants to go back to his wife. Hades' wife is gone for 3-6 months every year.

The Hades song reminds me of soft lullabies and similar things. It feels SO familiar, like I’ve experienced it many times before; reaching the end of a grand and satisfying adventure, quietly comforting and mesmerising, that point before you start to fall asleep and dream, reuniting with a lost one, it’s just so solacing and sombrely triumphant. It’s indescribable really. Magnificent.
I adore it. Covet it like humanity yearns for the stars.
I want to carve it into my heart and tattoo it onto my bones, want to pluck the sound waves from the air and tuck them away in my chest, want to feel it as I blow on dandelions and sea foam, want it to be my baby’s first experience of music and sound.
    How breathtakingly gorgeous and tranquil.
