In blender 3.4 for the Mix RBG you'll see that it's no longer available.
Just select mix and in the node that opens, click on the dropdown menu and select "color"

once i use the Mix node, the "static" goes away and its just a white screen again :/

@@Antonwalnuts It is a very nostalgic thing in many ways. Waking up in the middle of the night and hearing/seeing it and realising TV shows had ended for the night - another thing that has changed. Also, the Poltergeist movie - would that even work without the static?!
