  • 2007-2014 Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon, Yukon XL, Silverado, Sierra (2007-2013 on pickups). I had a hard time finding accurate descriptions/locations for the various HVAC actuators. This is for the auto climate control setup. Just a quick recap: on the driver's side above the gas pedal is the mode selector actuator, on the passenger side under the cover just to the right of the console is the driver's side temperature actuator, and behind the dash center panel is the passenger side temperature actuator.
    Thank's for the follow's. I'm not a proffesional "TH-cam" poster, so sorry if video's are not professional looking. Just a guy sharing info.

    All of my front vents/defrost work when commanded.

    Rear zone is fully functional

    • @normli8606
      @normli8606  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, the mode door changes positions. If you don't have heat on either side, I'd open the hood and check the heater hoses on the firewall to see how how the hoses are. It's possible that heater core is plugged, or thermostat is stuck open. With the heater core hoses, one should be hot (inlet) and the other one would likely be little cooler (outlet). I would find it hard to believe that both temperature actuators went out at the same time.

  • @jaredvera7079

    I have a 2014 gmc Yukon same as this body style. I’m having trouble with my car not blowing the correct temp. If it’s hot outside and I want the a/c on and I set it to 60 which is the lowest setting it will blow heat and if it’s cold outside you have to turn the temp all the way to 90 to get hot air. Would this be the actuator on the driver side that needs to be replaced since you said it controls the temperature?

    • @normli8606
      @normli8606  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is what I'd look to replace (left temperature actuator). Sounds like it's getting bound up and not moving to the cold side, hence why you're still getting hot air when you set it to 60 degrees.

    I have a 2011 Suburban LTZ, cold air is blowing but I can not get any warm air. I can direct it to the proper places with the controls but cannot get any heat. Both heater hoses are warm so I know it iis not a circulation problem. Which actuator would control if the air is pulled past the heater core or not?

    • @normli8606
      @normli8606  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'm guessing that it has dual zone (driver/passenger selectable temperature's). Can you change temp on either side? If you can change temp one side but not the other, then it would be one of the temperature actuators for whichever side is not changing. I see that you say heater hoses are warm. At operating temperature they usually are pretty toasty. What does your temperature gauge on the dash show for temperature? Possibly bad thermostat maybe if the temperature isn't too high.

    • @suffolkamusements9527
      @suffolkamusements9527 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@normli8606 I get no heat from either zone no matter what I set the settings at. I only get cold air, and by me saying cold, I mean outside tempature air, not a/c. My temp says 210 and that is what it always says. I should have worded that differently but my heater hoses are 'pretty toasty'. I don't think it is a faulty thermostat as the temp guage does not indicate that.
