Headlight polish kit
These 3M headlight restore kit part #39173 - work well. Pretty inexpensive, about $8 at the store, and $5-6 on Amazon. Just tape off paint around the headlight. Clean the headlight with isopropyl and water. Then using water and the grey sanding pad provided sand the headlight. when you are all done, the the whole headlight will be hazy looking. Then dry it off. And then afterwards use the towelette provided, wipe it on the headlight. it's a real light clearcoat for the headlight. I applied it, and put the towelette back in the pouch so it wouldn't dry out, and let it the headlight dry for about 20 minutes then reapplied the clearcoat again.
I felt it worked well for the little time and cost associated with it.

Hand rivet gun tip
มุมมอง 214 หลายเดือนก่อน
Just a little tip to help squeeze a hand rivet gun. Saves on the knuckles when the center of the rivet pops off and locks the rivet in. I feel that it gives better control. The distance your hand has to spread and grip is the same throughout the process. as you can see, the first rivet I was having a hard time getting the river to lock in. But with the grip clamp I had no problem locking in place.
Brake hose leak stopper.
มุมมอง 1149 หลายเดือนก่อน
Just a cheap and inexpensive way to stop brake fluid from leaking from the hose when you take off a caliper. some people will clamp the rubber hose with vise grips, but that could lead to a collapsed hose issue down the line. Instead, what I do is take about 1½" of 3/8 fuel line and cut it length wise and use it on either side of the steel block where the banjo bolt goes thru. I use two washers...

Doing wheel bearing on friends 2007 suburban and the bearing was stuck and rusted in there. After removine everything, I tried pounding on the flange to get the bearing to release from the knuckle and it wouldn't move. Just a small modification I do when installing these 3800 water pumps. The last bolt is right inline with the power steering pulley, kinda a pain to get at. 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe fuel vapor canister.
มุมมอง 253ปีที่แล้ว
Friend was complaining about gas pump shutting off after about 10-15 seconds. The vapor canister was bad. Caused likely by prolonged over filling. Gas can get the vapor line, causing the charcoal pellets to swell and turn to mush, thus not allowing proper fume venting, causing the gas pump to turn off thinking its full. I've never seen none this bad, to the point that gas was still able to be p...

2005 Grand Prix. Just a little trunk release function I thought about trying to see if it would work. you can release the trunk from the passenger side by holding the unlock button for about 3-4 seconds, just like on the driver side. Friend was saying that his car had little to no heat. His heater core had some blockage and was running thru the bypass tube instead of going thru the heater core. Without the actuator on their, the door would probably just flop around and heading on how much air pressure is on it.

    What is the point to leaving the large pin in and rotating it up? In having the same issue and trying to find the correct way to remove the c clips.

    • @normli8606
      @normli8606 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think it was the only way that I could get the right clearance to pull out the block in the center. I think gravity helped shift the other parts in the carrier as well. I know I spent probably 45 minutes or so trying to remove the center square block. I wish I TH-cam would let me post a screen shot. I'd screen shot the Alldata page with the directions. I over looked it originally and tried in multiple other spots and couldn't get the block to come out. After 45 minutes I reread the procedure on Alldata word for word and realized I didn't have the pin in the right spot.

    • @normli8606
      @normli8606 ปีที่แล้ว

      We were suprised that the passenger side went bad as well. Especially since for us, it only gets 10% the use of the driver's side gets. Very easy to do. One thing I'd say is make sure the rubber gasket under the handle is backing place correctly. Mine wasn't totally seated correctly from removing the old handle, and when tightening the screw back, the cover would tighten down and sit just a little off from the handle. I just pulled it off and made sure the gasket was clipped back into the door correctly and reattached the cover and all was well.
