For the blend door actuators: You are the first person to 1) actually describe what year/make/model you are working on. 2) define driver or passenger side actuator. 3) show the removal steps and location without 10 minutes of video turning 1/4" drive sockets. Solid work.
the rear hot/cold actuator is behind the passenger side rear quarter panel cover, the actuator closest to the fan motor is the hot/cold blend. a oem one is about $120 the dorman is about half that cost.
both the left and right side actuators are the same part number oem # 1572971 (15-72971), you can also use dorman # 604-106 and save some money, the bottom one under the kick panel is for the left/drivers side, the one on top in the video is for the passenger/right side.
Hi, didn't see your message till now the recirculating actuator is up under the dash on the left side of the airbox, if you get down by the gas pedal and look up and slightly to the right you will see it, it has a big plastic gear attached the gear should be white color or maybe black
My issue is the driver side . I have changed the bottom one for the driver . Still nothing . My driver side vents blow hot as hell . When installing , I Made sure it was correctly lined up .bolted it down then plugged in the wiring . Turned on ac and still nothing. I’ve Done all the fuse pulling steps still with no fix . I’ve noticed if I recalibrate it by pulling the fuses under the hood it resets to 74 on both sides of the hvac display . Also I’ve checked the temp with a temp gun and the air is evenly cool. I’ve let it calibrate several time . Let the truck run from 1 min to 44 mins . as soon as I turn the truck off or press any button on the ac display . It gets hot again .
Have you changed the HVAC control? If so it may need to be flashed to your vin. You can also visually watch the actuator and see what it is doing when you adjust the controls
Hey sir, so my suburban is cold on the passenger side only down by the legs, driver side heats fine, but passenger side is like ice cubes. would the actuator be causing this,? thanks for your help.
@@doubeleive 2012 and its like its outside air only, i believe the vents are working as they should but its definately cold air coming in..either from vents not working or something else. cold air in the floor is comin in. and its freezin. lol
I drive a 2013 GMC Yukon SLT. Had hot from the drivers side and cold on the passenger side. The following recalibration worked for me: 1) Turn the key to ON but do not start. 2) Pull fuse 55 HVAC-IGN and leave out for at least one minute (panel under the hood) 3) Reinstall fuse 55 4) Start engine and run one minute. 5) shut off engine and now try again as normal. If this worked then good! If not, maybe time for replacement.
sometimes a re-calibration will work, in my case there was a bcm code for the actuator feedback and it only worked partially, replacement was required for it to work properly again.
Thank you seth for the calibration info. I plan to try it on our 2009 yukon xl. Do the temperature controls, or any other controls, need to be set at a specific setting before starting this procedure?
Great video brother thanks. I have an 07 Silverado and it blows hot air through the passenger vents only I know these trucks have about 5 actuators is this what your truck was doing? Just asking because I dont want to mess with the wrong one. Thanks
yes the passenger side would not work properly it would stay stuck on hot or only go part way and blow just warm air instead of cold, should be the same procedure not sure how the dash trim is on the silverados versus the suv's or the glove box but under that it will be the same.

What is the driver side for? I have a 07 avalanche and all in a sudden my heater is blowing cold in all vents
Hi Wesley, quick question, on mine the recirculating actuator does not work, which on of the actuators do I need to replace? Thanks!

what year? and does the air only blow cold at the floor vent? or does it blow cold from the forward dash vent also?
