Really appreciated that you went through to isolate the issue rather than a standard "how to fire a parts cannon" videos. Would love to see more tips & tricks with the multimeter :)
The blower motor you got from rockauto is a an OEM part. It is absolutely the same as the one I pulled out of my truck. 2013 sierra 1500 assembled in Fort wayne.
@@brianmurphy4504 Hi Brian, can’t remember I think the original one was a Bosch and the one I replaced it with was either made in China. I think it was made in China the box said made in USA.
Thanks for the video. My 2010 Suburban had two 7/32 bolts holding the motor up with some air intake part in addition to the blower housing. It also had a tab that had to be bent up and then it rotated like yours. I got 12v or so coming to the motor and I plugged the motor into an m12 battery and it spun so I put it all back together and it works now. No burned wires or bad looking terminals. Must be loose connections or something. Next time I'll just thump it a little... Thanks again!
Great video on my quest to fix the blower. We’re having trouble getting the blower off but I have an Avalanche so maybe there’s a screw. The back seat is out too. A different video mentioned that if the coolant for the AC gets extremely low it will lock out the system to protect itself. I’m gonna look into that too. Thanks.

This a fantastic video! Great job. Great walk through. You were so funny too! Rock Auto got me. Lol. So funny. Thanks so much. I have the same issue no fan. I will check the cable first
Did you ever figure out what the 3 pins in the resistor is? Every aftermarket one I can find has only 1 pin. I was told the other pins work rear controls on like suburbans. No clue if that’s true? I’m trying to get my 2008 3500HD working.
@@garrycoleman2494 hi Garry, that is the same thing that happened to my fan. I would bet if you replace that wire that would fix it. Thanks for watching.

@fixitjohn sorry to ask but what wire/problem did you fix in this video my suburban is making thr exact same noise that your car made when you turn the ac on, I'm assuming it's the same problem with mine. I just didn't catch the part that your replaced!
@@Etherealiest Sure the part number for the fix on my truck is 1575221. If you punch that into Amazon it will show you. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
@fixitjohn thanks. Ya my blower motor is shorting out I may just need to reconnect a lose wire or just dirty crap connection. Will see I'll keep you posted brother.
IF BLOWER MOTOR GOES, THEY SAY SAY RESISTOR WILL FOLLOW CLOSE BEHIND. I HAVE BOTH PARTS ALREADY, WAS GOING TO RETURN the RESISTOR. REPLACED ONLY BLOWER MOTOR FOR NOW, NOT A BIG JOB. YOUR THOUGHTS ON KEEPING or RETURNING RESISTOR , ANYONE. THANKS
I came here because my battery died, I recharged it, then found out my blower wasn't working. Any idea why that would happen? it worked fine before battery died. I've only checked the fuses so far, and they are fine. 09 Silverado with 65,000 miles on it.
@@fixitjohn Finally had time to get to looking at it. I let my truck warm up a little, and while I was standing there, the blower motor kicked on. Its scary when things fix themselves. I'm probably not in the clear, but I'm guessing I will have to replace the wiring from the blower to the resistor. Thanks for replying.
