The BMW had a good reaction but poor anticipation and judgement. He should have seen that potentially coming and held back.
@@Itsallfun3000 In hindsight yes but to me, that looked like a case of 50:50 chance where that Mercedes driver decides to go but since he should've been well aware of the drivers behind him, I'd more expect him to let the BMW pass, as he should have.
I wonder if Micha would have seen it coming, if he was in that BMW.
@felixfox8810 if its 5050 you would go on the cautious side really, but there was no indicator so it was always a gamble and it's the passing cars responsibility. I'd imagine misha would have held back as well. Having done so many laps and also racing where you do learn to think for other people! Same as anyone who rides a bike wouldn't have made that mistake
The merc driver needs a permanent ban . That seemed legit on purpose
Actually, the Merc was following the racing line. The way his car swung out to the right after the E46 ended up in the grass shows he genuinely didn't see the BMW (I mean, the E46 was in the Merc's blind spot). This isn't so much a crash, as it is a racing incident. In a real race, the driver would just be cautioned, but no penalty.

@@robknight1473 No, the line the Merc followed is a valid line for that corner. Some professional drivers go wide and come in before hitting the apex, so the Merc seems to have been following the line. The BMW could have braked, gone in to the slip stream, and tried on the next corner
@@THAT1ZELDAFAN the line he took was valid if he stuck to the line . He didn't. He clearly saw the BWM and cut him off . If he didn't see the BMW, then he has no right to be on a track . I've never seen anyone on that track take it wide and cut in to the curb . It makes no sense on that bend . To come wide and cut in .

going across the whole road ESPECIALLY trying to get into karousel without being in it to start is INSANE
It seemed like he tried to take a 'normal' out-in-out apex approach, but that doesn't work in the carousel and will catch other people totally off guard just like in the clip.
As a retired racing driver, it astonishes me that you guys drive like this with no helmets. One mistake or component failure away from a life changing accident

Not a racing driver retired or otherwise and that was my first thought! My second was around not wearing nomex.....
It's a legal road for legal street cars that have airbags and all kinds of other safety systems. Throwing in a helmet, especially without a hans device, is far more dangerous when mixed with those safety systems.

It’s not a switch on or off you can do little things a lot of the time for kids it starts with skating or bmx carting if they have the money. even taking small risks everyday calculated but pushing your comfort level doing something scary is great. You don’t have to be born with any specific mindset just think about starting a hobby that might push your comfort zone and you’re already well on your way

Only a 13 gallon tank. So each tick is like 2 gallons. It only burned 1 gallon after a few mins. That's great. The gauge is just large, so it's visually deceiving.

I love that after 20+ years of playing Gran Turismo I know this track inside and out. It would be hilarious to drive my daily on it seeing how im familiar with all the twists and turns. I bet this is more true today as more and more people play video games and namely the Gran Turismo series.

@@vetlerradiohe meant the cars wishbone. The inside curb at this corner is very steep angled and high. So his left front wheel got a huge blast to it resulting in a broken wishbone.

Should expect drivers to take that racing line even if they switch it up mid turn. You always got the exit to overtake and get ready for the next entry.
He didn't even switch it up. That line the Merc took is the actual racing line there.
Ypu see that leftvand right swing during exhilaration you need to change your hubs and bushes and tighten the suspension snd add a strutt brace and also add rigidty torsion bar between both front axels

There are a few places I wouldn’t attempt an overtake on the ring and both karussells are definitely up there! It isn’t 2 lanes, they are a half banked corner which can catch even the most well trained drivers out on a good day. Never mind a track day where mainly novices pay to enjoy.

13:00 They DO make you pay for additional airbags that are not mandated by law, e.g. knee / side airbags for rear seats.
The Merc had no obligation to leave the racing line there. It is obligatory to stay on the right on long straights and courteous to let faster vehicles past, but the BMW driver cannot simply divebomb an average road user and expect the other driver to look behind while navigating a difficult corner and/or anticipate it like he's freaking Max Verstappen.
You can try that in an amateur racing or in karting, but not with these vehicles and these drivers at these speeds.

The mercedes literally drove how every pro driver would. Bmw's fault because the one who comes from behind is responsible. Thats how that corner should be driven so people cannot blame the merc.
Thats not true. Either you take the Karussell or you don't. You never enter the Karussell mid corner. Also no pro driver ever does that.
@steffensehl6938 How are people so entirely wrong all the time, so confidently, on these videos. Watch the Kevin Estre, probably one of the best Nordschleife drivers out here, onboards. There's a ton of them on YT. The line the Merc took is literally the pro driver line.
