- MOIN LEUTE,
Finally its time for one of the craziest videos of the year: the best fails / wins I have filmed on the Nurburgring Nordschleife during the 2023 Touristenfahrten (Public driving) season! This year was definitely the busiest year since 2019, which meant a huge amount of fails and near crashes, however I tried to only keep the craziest ones in the video. Let me know in the comments below which fail you liked most!
Corners of the track filmed at:

I agree. But such massive cojones could be a very useful counter-weight for the sidecar in these situations. 👍

Finally, someone showing some legit crashes and not just weak racing ones. You’re the real MVP.
problem is, NÜRBURGRING had silly policy about crash, if video show full crash and they will ask video owner to delete it.
But are we ok that all TH-camrs have a lot of videos of crashes and maybe one day, they will upload it ?
I’ m too sad to don’t have crashes on Ring anymore 😢
@@TomRxtroWav397 The funny thing is that this rule is silly not only because of what it is, but also because unless you show what can happen if just a driver (not a pro racer) drives a car to its limits, some people will not know the possible results.
Who cares if they ask? Just don’t delete it
@@bc5515 that would mean no more license to film and thus no more videos for us
BMW Drivers: “I must prove I’m a real BMW driver by wrecking into this wall”
In fact the causality between BMWs and frequency of crashes lies in the fact BMWs are the most driven cars on the Nürburgring. BMW has way more racing sport legacy than e.g. Mercedes or Audi and are better build for track race, hence more BMW drivers consider to got to the track. Of course it would need some basic intellegence to comprehend this connection ;)
@@FelixS. I've seen tracks where you have more US or Japanes cars than BMWs, and still the BMWs spend most of their time sideways or trying to smash into the walls.
@@fridaycaliforniaa236 Ah ok so based on your subjective observation that’s the rule? My point still stands in terms of the causality, especially on the Nordschleife.

is it rwd swaped tho? look at the rear tires spin
It's the 1.8T 20v model, it has AWD with Haldex, just like the Audi S3.
awd
Best drift. Has to be AWD
Did this a few years back and was the most scary driving experience of my life. A group of blokes in matching black Audi's were about 10 cars behind me. I took the lap easy giving plenty of room for better drivers and faster cars to pass. On the final straight I opened up my SLK. One of the black Audi's came steaming past me then cut directly in front of me about a car length distance. He slammed his brakes on extremely early. Not only did he out power he could out brake me. I had to resort to the grass to avoid a rear end collision. Once off track the guy came screaming at me saying he was going to have band etc. No idea how he saw it as my fault to this day.
😂
Tried to gaslight you fr pathetic 😂

2:00 That's got to be one of the best crashes I've seen
Mercedes E-wagon loosing it's wheel was the top SSC filmed this year and E36 almost flipping over at Carousel was the craziest AA filmed in 2023.
Scary was that is broke during driving, would be thrilled to know if these were cheap aftermarket budget alloys.
@@I_love_our_planet Probably made in Jinah..lol..😂😂😂
@@I_love_our_planetit looks like the rims were still completly fine. Looks more like the bolts became loose and went lost while driving without the driver noticing.
@@I_love_our_planet Aftermarket alloys in Germany have to be TÜV-approved, they go through impact testing and other tests to make sure they don't break. I would also think that the bolts/screws came loose.
That new 3 series BMW wagon almost hit the Armco, and to be honest if he had the car would probably actually look better! The fronts are those cars are criminally ugly.
The number of insurance claims that don’t occur ON the ‘Ring but NEAR the ‘Ring must be incredible!

17:26 got to appreciate how good the suspension is on that S13. The way it soaks up the bump as he crosses back onto the track is great.
And looks damned fine while doing it, too
@@CaptainHoratioPugwash You actually need softer suspension for this track. You're gonna have a bad time with normal racecar stiffness, that's good on normal tracks.
@@tmdosumaybe but that was running pathetically soft
@@CaptainHoratioPugwash I think he just got lucky with the weight transfer, that could've gone very differently
Yeah his bodywork really... uh, absorbed the bump
Finally, a video showing some of the bad bits of the Ring. I don’t know why they try and ban these, it’s good education. Knowing what could happen watching this stuff prior to going, made me safer when I was there.
My suspicion is they try to ban them because people's plates are visible and I can't speak for the rest of Europe but certainly when I lived in the UK the insurance specifically called out the Nordschleife as not being covered under their policies.
Personally I was fine with that, and drove essentially as if I was uninsured. Live in the US now but would love to go back to Green Hell
because there ring try to portray the track as a road and with road rules but in reality its a race track with lots of twats crashing on it lol
More a case of the fact people get hurt and killed every year on the ring, and as they can't know what crash is what they don't want every accident on the ring being uploaded by onboards for the type of people that enjoy going to watch race fatality videos. Plus to the OP if you think seeing crashes is educational and will teach you what can happen then you shouldn't go period. You can crash on any road at any time if you make a mistake. If you don't know those odds go upon a race track if you don't respect it there is no hope for you. Random crashes for random reasons at random corners in random cars won't teach you shit.
@@blackknight1013 Majority is not random, it's dumb shits exceeding their skill level. Why is that stupid fqwit in the R34 trying to drift with a load of traffic behind? Should be banned and have that car taken off him, he doesn't deserve it.
@@blackknight1013 will happily be corrected on this, but these aren't all random crashes for random reasons. Most of them in hindsight could be avoided. Plenty to learn, like how not to lift off over a crest etc, and things like over-correcting and of course how not to learn drifting in a public session and losing control. No substitute for actually being in the car, but useful to encourage being humble when you can see the consequences of someone showing off.
Spin/crash...
Passenger: What the?!?!

Great compilation!!
the number o folks who actually have decent saves on this is frankly encouraging.
The problem is never the track, the problem is there’s too much ego driving

6:30 was that a suspension failure , and if so what can one do to prevent that? (i'm just getting into cars and i'm trying to understand how they work)
8:11 that toe angle 👌🏻
Thanks for the video. I have an F82 M4 and have been considering going to the Nurburgring since I bought it. Vids like these are a reminder to me, that everyone 'thinks' they are a racing driver until they are on an unforgiving track.
I have an M5 and I'm in the same position. I have driven round the Ring playing Gran Turismo hundreds of times. I know that real life is not as forgiving and that my car has a lot of power. I'd love to go but I'm not sure I could control myself. I don't want to have to walk back to Yorkshire from Germany.
@@joshuarosen6242 I hear you. I've been told, you can hire a car (small engined, not nearly as much fun) from them. The thing is, I like driving my car and would want to see how it is around the Nurburgring. Next year, I plan to do a few racing circuits in "club cars", then do a circuit or two in mine, then hopefully plan a road trip to Germany.
@@samr2332 My advice to both of you would be to look up the recovery fees for crashing on the Nordschleife, that should sober you up! Maybe print it out and read it before you get on the track lol
Watch other BMW drivers get into accidents or dangerous situations in this video before you hit the Nurburgring. As you noticed, the drivers in the video are mostly BMWs, not Mercedes or Audi, Porsche, or Volkswagen, but 90% of the accidents are BMWs. This means that they are not such good drivers and clearly overestimate their strength.
@@IvanMPT If you say so Ivan.

Look how that Kia Rio got around that corner faster than a Porsche. Didn't spin or damage itself either.

Loving the “up close and personal” shots you have going on, SSC. Right in front of the action!!
Just please be careful 😅
i have to admit, 6:27 pisses me off a bit. that should NOT happen as long as you take care of your car and follow standard safety precautions. really dangerous, we're lucky no one else was involved in that crash.
yea and don't they inspect the vehicle before letting it on track?
@@jcsse03why should they? It's the driver that has to do that!
@@MyCaddy2010 for the safety, i guess it gets expensive and time consuming to check every car 😅
Of course it shouldn't happen, but mechanical failures can happen even with checks.

I'd love to hear from the owner what actually caused it.
it happened to my friend with im pretty sure the exact same car. maybe its an issue with them? lmao

21:58 Excellent situational awareness from the Miata driver, front end could have easily swung around and hit the SEAT based on wheel orientation. I think keeping the brakes locked was the best option for the Miata, exceptional execution and great outcome!
You should always full lock brakes and potentially let go of steering wheel, and then maintain brake pressure. Lots of beginners get into trouble for rolling after crashing.

The blue seat must watch out for a drift ban... sliding like that... damn ✅️
As someone’s who’s done 28 hours on track and over 30 days in multiple Sims I can say one thing. Use the god damn break when you are having a moment. 1/2 of these a holes think they are Tokyo drifting too the next corner and end up making it so much worse. Rally driving is the easiest way to learn this there’s a fine line between control and in the fuckin wall here or a tree in my case
what happens if someone crashes and tries to get away? will they be stopped when exiting the track, or will they just get some letters in the mailbox? and do the nurburgring have track cameras?
which camera is used for this filmming ?
@11:37 is a good reminder to carry an extinguisher with you on the track (and if your car is modified on you at all times) this one appears to be a stock Renault but either side stay safe folks.
you are more likely to use an extinguisher on a stock renault than a modified one lol

Heckantrieb und Untersteuern ... immer wieder unterhaltsam.
I think a place, not a racing track, would be fantastic to have where you could practice all different stuff, like cornering, with lots of grass to bail out without damaging your car, or practicing slippery road slides, stuff like that... that would be amazing for most of the ppl.
lots of people whose ability doesn't match their ambitions... the Ring , takes no prisoners , and doesn't care if you crash. and the crashers , never get out to check for damage.
Pretty much every E36 then. 😂
4:50 Why was that plate blurred out when others aren’t?
Because he wecked and/or sustained visible damage
The guy that dumped his bike had his plate blured too.
The merc that lost its wheel, the renault that blew its engine, and many others.
Seems like SSC does them a solid and blurs the plate, lest some insurance adjuster watches these (and they do, supposedly)
Most insurance companies won't cover track damage, nor will most manufacturers cover warranty issues if you track your car (that Renaults flaming engine failure...unless he was modded that likely is a warranty engine defect)
I wonder how many of these cars were daily drivers
Reoccuring theme : Fwd w the late turn in , then pushing all the way thorough , going off , throwing gravel and kissing the barrier and continuing on their merry way 😂

With few exceptions most of these drivers were extremely fortunate, this is not normally a very forgiving track. Most often once a driver loses control the damages easily get into the thousands.
One thing is constant over the years: The number of BMW drivers without skills thinking they own a track car
I was going to say that those guys overcook it... till I saw that grey Megane RS. That's properly roasted!
Holy smokes! Full send on production street tires! Wonder how many drivers exit the track immediately after these close calls.
To be fair, they all exit the track at the end of the lap.
