My gen1 in 762x39 has been great. I’ve been wanting a 223 bolt gun, can’t decide between this and a savage.
I’ve had a cheap savage axis before that was very accurate.

ive got two little boys and im wanting to stay in the same ammo as my ars, i was thinking about getting one of these. i live up in the mountains and we dont take shots on game over 100 yrd so i think itd be perfect with the right ammo as a back up hunting rifle. Greetings from WNC I think some of these other hunting rds will probably disapear really quick when shtf so itd be nice to be able to have 223 stocked up.

I have been BEGGING Ruger to make this exact rifle in .308 since the original line. Poor man’s Gunsite Scout rifle 😂

My last reply seems to have vanished, I did not shoot the 308, but did shoot the 6.5. It shoots pretty good, but the Taurus shoots a better group, its all about the price difference I suppose. Thank you.

thanks. waiting on 1 of these. have the gen 1. really thinking of the 450 bushmaster. would be a cool ranch gun. especially w/ the can and hornady 395g subs!

Ranch version is 5.56 NATO, standard and predator version is 223

@@hopatrol9475 the Ranch with 16 inch barrel in 5.56 is more of a hard use rifle for Ranchers.Farmers....shorter easier to handle....with 5.56 chamber you can shoot 223 also.

Why wouldn't a manufacturer chamber it for 5.56? Might as well. Now you can shoot both that and 223

Define updated? I didnt look very close, but it felt the same as the Gen 1 to me.
