    Thanks for the upload. All I can do presently is watch vicariously but it's a great break from the sitting-in-the-office-late-at-night-with-PC-doing-work thing. Cheers!

    Many thank for yet another superb upload. I am pleased to say that trip hurt you a lot more than it did me 😉. You said it was self supporting and then reviewed every burger van en route, even complained the petrol stations were shut! John, you are in a velo mobile! It don’t need petrol!

    I'm an American, I do not eat at McDonalds.
    The food is horrible.
    Great ride.

    Great vid, John, although it makes my legs scream just watching it! About 25 miles is my limit at the mo'.

    Nice ride, although I don't have one of those mad machines I've spent the past few hours watching every video on youtube about them.... I've the wahoo bolt and the varia same as yours and find them incredibly useful on country roads. I do have a garmin (explorer 2) but I find the way the wahoo shows the traffic to be more useful.
    Now back to dreaming how I can buy one of those velomobile machines and not get killed by the missus.

    I am currently in the R&D phase of my Velomobile project, I have set on a shell design and I am working out the measurements for a rider of 6’6” max height to 5’2” short at smallest accommodations.

    I'm thinking it's time for me to do the DunRun again. I've tried every upright combo, but now I have a velomobile...

    I swear the DD starts earlier and earlier each year, back in the day we used only leave after dark!

      I tell ya back in my day we used to go there with pipes and tyres and build our bikes right there before we got to riding! These softies nowadays with their finisched bikes!

    Always wanted to do the DD but it's enough of a logistical nightmare if you're in the SE, from Manchester it's a nightmare.

    When was this John? The added bonus of a velomobile- you can kip in them . I'm saving up.

    Would a velomibile be usable in Scotland? Hills where I stay are upto 15% gradient, lowest chainrings I see on velos are 42 or 46. On my recumbent trike with 26 rear wheel I tend to use a 32 chainring for most hills, a 22 for 15% (speed droping to 2mph). Won't it be murder getting up hills on a heavier velo?

  • @4GregF

    That would be an issue to a nice long one-way ride, you need to ride back, no matter how tired you are.

    Are you still riding with Quatrovelo or is Alpha 7 your main velomobile now??

    • @velo-ads4206
      @velo-ads4206  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I still use the quattrovelo for school runs and when the weather is atrocious.

    Is the average speed slower than average or is that normal?

    • @velo-ads4206
      @velo-ads4206  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A lot slower as I was trying to pace myself, I knew that I had to ride back also.

    You should have told me you were coming, I would have had some half way treats ready in Sudbury had I known.
    As it was instead of being involved in half way stops (there werent any) I just turned up for an hour and took some photos.
    Shame to miss you.

    You should wear sunscreen, especially in your forehead, nose, cheekbones, ears and some SPF lip balm as well for your bottom lip. I learned that a bit late myself, but you're still in time young men.
