    Had a ride in a Porsche that colour as a kid; very special, but your new ride looks better to me! Hope the change in cleat position works for you. I'd imagine ideal cleat position is very different on a recumbent?

    Fantastic stuff as always John! can't wait to see her in person someday at a BHPC Event.
    What rider size do these run up to? i find myself more and more curious over the idea of a Velomobile but height seems to be a restricting factor for most. (195cm)
    Keep safe and stay awesome!

      For the Alpha around 185 max, a quattro velo or Milan gt should be ok for you.

    an elevation system for the chasis, so as to become off-road on demand, would be awesome!!!

    good to see you again. I thought velomobiles were similar to recumbents with cleat positioning. And the accepted best position was as far back as possible. But now you are going to tell me something else for sure? Guess it depends too on what size cranks you have?

    This may be a very odd question:
    But, here's the question.
    How much would it cost to live in London for 6 months?
    I ask this because I was just hit by a car in my QV.
    When I get my QV repaired, I want to bring my QV over there and have a different velo experience.

    Nice video John! Can the new stronger steering plates easily retrofitted to the older Alpha 7 ?

  • @lostjr
    @lostjr 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    There is some thinking in some recumbent circles that cleats should be mid-foot.

    John... Great intro to your new Alpha 7. If it is not too much bother, would you consider showing your Alpha 7 configurator?
    Thanks again... and best of luck with the new ride.

    true, looks a bit tight on in there, especially for someone as tall as John.
    And there's hardly any place to keep snacks and drinks handy. Guess older velos still have some benefits, they're not to be ignored.
    John, what's the feedback on using such a tall chainring? can you climb at all? I couldn't see any mountain drive in there, and even with that it would be still very long

    Is there any camber to the wheels on an alpha? The sides look pretty flat, especially compared to the DF.

    How do you lock up a velomobile? Love you channel! Gcn can suck it :P :)

  • @claudeanderson4795

    You bolted in your seat! According to the seat install video it showed the holes in the seat sliding over the bolt heads so you can take the seat out easily (no washers). Was this too much trouble to do? It did seem tricky to get just right. Do you have to remove the seat often? Is the seat installed in the Milan mk7 similar to this or different?

    • @velo-ads4206

      It is bolted behind my shoulders and slides over bolt heads at my hips for lifting out.

    How bad is it walking in the new shoes? Those sound slippery af. I used to run Look pedals and road shoes and when I had to walk away from the bike it was like being a penguin on ice. Much prefer ordinary slip on work boots with mountain bike flat pedals with studs keeping my feet in place. Can't spin quite as much but worth the tradeoff as I'm definitely not racing. Do you carry normal shoes with you in the velo?

    • @velo-ads4206
      @velo-ads4206  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Definitely have to have your wits about you decending stairs, if have a long walk once I reach my destination I'll chuck a pair off shoes in the back.

      Lock through back wheel attached to a bike rack, with foam cover on.

    John... how long did you have to wait for the Alpha 7Mk2?
    I was informed that the wait list here in the states is 7 months. Alpha 7... 7 months... coincidence, or conspiracy??? HaHa

    I find it a bit frustrating that such an expensive tool has a super cheap ugly headrest made of cheap acoustic foam. not mention that material does absorb so you can imagine all the sweat..bleah..other thna that it's great!

    This video came up in my suggestions like it was going to be SUPER interesting, but it was SO... boring.
    Better editing plz, less focusing on boring technical details, there's thousands of people watching cool bicycle stuff on TH-cam not just your mates who know the details mix up the familiar with the unfamiliar matey!
    Good luck with your channel ✌🏾

      Do you ever pass any of the devices called bicycles? why are they always passing you. for $15000 you could at least pass a running dog.
