Read the other comments : weight loss, anti-Alzheimer... I guess you only have not to take it in excess, and pause from time to time.

I am 64 years old and on March 1st of 2021 I went to my doctor for my yearly physical. I was 321 pounds.
I found out my AC1 was 6.4 and was told by my doctor to come back in three months and if my AC1 hadn’t improved I would have to be put on some kind of medication.
I immediately began Dr. Bergs plan and went on low carb keto lifestyle change. It took over two months to work into the OMED plan. I started having a protein shake between 3:00-4:00pm and then eating my meal around 6:30pm .
On June 2nd I had my follow up with my doctor. I have lost 27pounds and my AC1 is now 5.8 !!!
I plan to stay on Dr. Bergs plan until I reach my ideal body weight.
I am 5’11 so that will probably take me a year to reach my correct weight.
    Thank you Dr. Berg!

Please stop thinking of this as a "being on a diet" -- it's a LIFESTYLE! And if you go back to your old lifestyle, you'll go back to your old body!!!

Ive been looking into this for sometime for a family member, but when my doc told me I'm pre-diabetic, I decided to try it first, cause I have been having numbing sensation in my hands throughout the day . I could tell something was happening when I first took it cause I felt the numbing intesfy and then go away gradually and this happened a couple times taking it. Also if I take before sleep because I snack sometimes at night I don't have that numbing feeling that feels like the blood isn't flowing right whenni wake up. Well 2 weeks in and better already. The numbing has almost completely gone. I need to stop with the sweets. But its a life saver. Will continue with it and do better with my health. A must try. Get a good brand thats organic

Don't get me wrong....I really do like Dr Berg , I have subscribed to the channel and over the years I've learnt so much and his advice and recommendations have been very useful to myself and those who I have recommended him to...
I would just like to say as a reminder to everyone, please bear in mind that with every recommendation, it is always advisable that you do your own research in order to find out if what is being recommended is right for you and your own personal circumstances... For example, some precautions are advisable for those who are pregnant and/or some herbs/medications may cause adverse effects and can make your condition worse, ( and in some cases be fatal)...
With Berberine it has been known to cause malabsorption of other vitamins and minerals along with causing gastrointestinal side effects, including diarrhea, constipation, flatulence, and stomach pain.
So again, as I said, please always do further/ more in depth research as to what is right for you and maybe seek further advice.

I'm doing the same thing. Refused to take metformin and found the berberine online. It immediately normalized my blood sugars because I test my blood regularly at home and lab work show improvement and I immediately started to lose weight without try , I've lost 60lbs . My medical doctor was furious with me , she kept telling me I should be on metformin and I told her I won't take it because I found online that it was recalled 2 that year for having to high of an amount of a cancer causing ingredient, so that means there's an allowable amount and I won't take it and my doctor still tried to convince me to take metformin. I said the berberine is working, lab work shows it's working , so I don't need to take it. Then she said you need to take a medicine to protect your kidneys and a med for cholesterol. I told her my cholesterol is good , so I'm not taking it and I'm not taking any medicine until my lab work shows there's a problem or I'm having physical symptoms. My doctor didn't like that , she was unprofessional and I'm still thinking of complaining to the administration. I will changing doctors. I've lost a lot of faith in the medical system.

I have PCOS, I quit the pill this year. I take the German Ovasitol they sell here in Europe & Berberine (400mg) twice a day, after meals. This is my second month. Acne has decreased considerably, less hair in the drain & I notice my hair isn't oily at all anymore. Not sure yet if it will help me have regular cycles, but definitely helps me block excess testosterone and my body uses glucose better.

@@aaliyahsswoop6706 I tried a bunch of stuff and berberine worked the best. I lost a little weight but then I got Covid right after I started and quit all dieting.
Honestly, I don’t think berberine (or any supp) does much. But I do feel like it does something barely, and it was the only supp that I felt that way about.
If it wasn’t so cheap I might not take it, but since it is cheap I think it’s worth it for placebo affect if nothing else..
To this day, nothing has or will ever work as well as adderall as an appetite suppressant for me. When I take adderall, I can go literally all day and never get hungry once. But adderall is a hardcore drug, and doing it every day is unrealistic for me bc my sleep would suffer badly. Some ppl can do it every day, not me. I imagine it is not healthy to take daily anyway. But I still have my adderall prescription and I will always bust it out every once in a while. Berberine is a good substitute to take in the days I don’t take adderall. Much healthier and more gentle.
With adderall though, I lost like 20 lbs in 3 weeks. Radical weight loss, and I’m not a heavy guy with tons to lose (went from 185 to 165 in 3 weeks. My ideal weight is like 145 and I’m 5’8” male). This is with very little exercise, and absolutely exploding with infinite energy every day. But yea, not sustainable. Great as an occasional recreational drug tho, and great to kick-start a diet or maintain it when I start getting cravings.

You don't know how freakin' long I've been waiting for you to make this video lol 😁😎🙏👍. Many thanks Doc :-) What brought me here was: I was just listening to Dr. Saladino on his hypothesis (based on studies showing a trend that supports it) of linoleic acid in relation to complex-1, most specifically, and how overconsumption of PUFA's (polyunsatured fats-- mainly in non-ruminants fed corn and soy, as you have thankfully always warned against consuming) apparently cause our fat cells to grow rather than to shrink, and he used a study showing Metformin's effects of modulating those negative effects of complex-1, of course as a means of allusion/example as to the biochemical action, recommending to avoid the drug and to increase stearic acid consumption from ruminants (specifically beef kidney fat).
So, as someone having tried Berberine (with positive results--i.e. it doesn't seem to be a plant-based toxin for me personally), knowing it is similar in function and benefits to Metformin (including in relation to complex-1 function based on a quick google search of a study done lol), I find this very interesting.
As a layperson, I hope I didn't butcher some of the science on that, but needless to say, this video by you helps to fill in some of the blanks in my still fitting the understanding together and in overall learning more. 🙏👍🔬

I asked him what the red things were and turned out they were berberines. These ancient civilization s, like Chinese and Indians as well have known about these benefits for 1000s years and only now are we finding out. Lol.

@@keylimepie210 The spice in your food was either berbere or barberry/berberis. It is not exactly correct to refer to one type of chemical composition, berberine, to describe a spice. The correct way of saying would have been, “There was berbere or barberry/berberis in the food.”
Berberine is a type of salt in plants like barberries, Chinese goldthread, and Californian poppy.
Berbere spice for food is made up of chiles, garlic, fenugreek and a handful of warm spices, such as allspice and cinnamon.
Barberry or berberis which is a type of fruit is also a spice. Barberry is used for medicines and food and contains berberine.

Depends on what you are taking it for. I have been suffering with migraines with severe nausea for 10 months caused by an infection in my blood. My prescriber said Berberine formula (Genestra) 2 with all three meals. Also a good probiotic to replace the good bacteria after the bad is killed off and a detox to get rid of 'die off'. But I'm not a doctor and this is not medical advice.
