@@BruceLee-dp9sj and I'm a throat cancer stage 4 survivor and 90 lbs lighter and very much possiblly alive only be cause I stumbled onto Dr Berg and listened to him. He knows more about nutrition then any nutritionalist I have ever spoken too. Fully believe he had a huge part in saving my life.
I am from the United States originally, served in the military, then moved across the pond. I used to live overseas for nearly 14 years. When I lived there, I had very few health problems. My wife and I used to remark how much of a difference there was when we would board an aircraft coming and going from the United States about how unwell people looked. A number of years later we moved back to the United States and then the last few years since I have lived here, my health has deteriorated. Not only that but so has hers, and both of our kids. Quite frankly there is no other explanation for it other than what is in the food, drinks, water, in fact the entire environment of living in the United States is toxic. The stress, the politics, the social divisions, and so on. It’s unbelievable. I actually find myself on some days actually hoping that I will drop dead so at least I can be through all of this. That’s a terrible thing to say isn’t it? I worry about my kids and we stay on them about what they eat. The food and drug industry are totally in bed together on this one and the government is absolutely complicit. In my opinion, even though this is a rather dramatic thing to say, they must consider us an enemy because that’s how you treat an enemy. You try to kill them. Except they are doing it slowly. This is unspeakably evil, and these people deserve to be taken to trial and imprisoned for what they have done. They are taking away our freedom of choice by simply putting things into the food drinks water, and even the air we breathe without our knowledge. That is criminal.
The key is your kid. Let them.know, give them the power of critical thinking. Join the thousands in the US that fight everyday to have a chance to eat healthy.
You hit the nail on the head. You speak truth. Thank you. It's God job to show people how sick this country is . Please God bless the USA and World with YOUR grace.
Whatever FDA says I try to avoid it. I found myself in this rabbit hole of so many industry lies when I read "The 23 Former Doctor Truths". Its no wonder why Doctor left her career.

I had bowel trouble and fibromyalgia for years, stopped eating gluten and seed oils 3 years ago. l am 71 years old and l have no inflammation, feel great and people think I'm 60.
I have fibromyalgia and the pain/aching/tiredness that is just so awful. Have been trying an alternative mind set to keep just pushing through. But the symptoms are still there and willing to try the suggestion you put in your comment ‘gluten free and no seed oils’. Congratulations on your determination to succeed
@amandabun l don't eat sugar,l make all my food,l eat very clean, but it makes all the difference, like I said,l have no inflammation anymore. All the very best to you.l hope this helps.
In the UK in the 80’s I remember sunflower cooking oil and margarine being such a trend. We all thought it was the healthiest thing ever and ditched the butter and animal fats. Marketing is very deceptive - it’s unforgivable that the food industry is allowed to get away with this - thank goodness we have people like Dr Berg who are now giving us information we can trust.
Oh man. Margarine was called "butter" in my house in the 80s. It was quite a revelation when I moved out and bought my own groceries and realized butter is something else entirely. Boy it's tasty stuff!
How it’s rapeseed or what they call canola oil in the states, it’s in absolutely everything here in the UK. The only way to avoid it is to make everything yourself from scratch.
Thank you both. At 76 , I do all of my own cooking. Extra virgin olive oil , avocado oil , real butter, bacon fat... After 2 heart attacks I may have become aware of your information a little late but I'm going with it. Thank you again.
@@48grizzly too thankful to these holistic doctors..im 66yrs old and i am free of all maintenance pills now. For almost three yrs in correcting my food..avoid sugar and its derivatives , pasta, bread and rice.
Speaking for the older people, it is amazing how little food we actually need. I love food, but one meal a day is plenty. Probably 5 meals a week would be about perfect.
Aye, I agree except that it depends on what your work is. If it's heavy work from morning to evening it's really difficult eating once a day in terms of focus, energy and endurance.
Yes!! I think it is called intermittent fasting anyway. I recently heard that the body needs 16 hours to turn into healing mode (no food, just water/liquid). Worth learning more about this!
As someone who does a 20/4 intermittent fast for the last 5 years, and a 48hr fast every 2 weeks, I completely concur. Most of us do not need 1500kcal per day. Not unless we have a high burn or intensively active lifestyle.
I'm not elderly and am quite active and I still think that 1500kcal is too much. I can imagine that with age it should be less and less as activity is also reduced
I feel best when I eat Beef, eggs, grass-fed butter, (cauliflour, broccoli only couple days a week) redmonds salt... all my arthritis gone!! My Snoring stopped... my gums got healthy and sensitive teeth gone. Hair and nails got healthy. Lost my extra fat... it completely changed my life ❤
@txjellybean3772 I make Ghee out of grocery store butter for 6 years now and I am age 84 and very active and alert. No meds, no otcs and doctor visits. So I think not all things need be so grassy and organic all the time for all peeps.
The fact that the most amazing doctor berg is allowing another doctor to share their thoughts, and he is asking questions makes me wanna sit up and listen to this lady
He's very ignorant on some health fronts. That's because he looks at diet and nutrition in an isolated manner, not as a whole, the way the body actually functions. The only thing he will be remembered for is his sincerity in helping people, which is what he is. But not his actual knowledge.
I had a severe bout of food poisoning a couple of weeks ago. Before it happened I ate way too much junk food - chicken nuggets, fries, cheese Doritos, you name it, I ate it. And as was my pattern, I ate mindlessly and overate. I was so stuffed I could barely breathe. About 5 hours later I felt extremely unwell and I felt the familiar food poisoning symptoms and then my body violently started purging. Both ends, exorcist volumes. For 3 days. I couldn’t even keep water down. I had to take 2 days off work to recover. After that I got the message. Every day since I could eat food again, I cooked my own food. Meat veggies and a grain like rice or quinoa or pasta made from spelt or other non gluten grain. No oils of any kind just a little butter. And only water black coffee with a little cream. Let me tell you I’ve never felt better. My joints don’t hurt, my tummy isn’t bloated, I sleep better, mobility has increased something crazy, no more weird unexplained body rashes, not more weird smell when I sweat. Everything just…works. It’s incredible. I will never eat out again, no more junk food. Just food I cook myself. Oh and I’ve also shed 4kgs (8.8 lbs) doing nothing but existing. I think the food poisoning was my body’s last ditch attempt to set me on the right path. Talked about being scared straight 😂😂😂
God bless you 🙏 thank you 🙏 I'm going to try no oils and no gluten. Also I've recently tried no "night shade" veggies and I feel a little bit less stiff in my joints, I have arthritis. May you be showered with blessings 🎉
I bought canola oil to use in my daily cooking for 2 weeks a few months ago in order to cut costs. I was lethargic, perpetually dehydrated and my skin had major acne. ONLY TWO WEEKS. I switched back to avocado oil now and am back to normal.
I always love seeing Dr. Catherine Shanahan getting interviewed! I also am happy to see Dr. Berg give her the credit she deserves in being a pioneer on the topic of seed oils.
She doesn't deserve credit - She doesn't make the distinction enough between highly processed seed oils and non highly processes seed oils. Many seed oils have been used for great benefit to health and especially for detoxing. This has been known for hundreds of years and practiced as such for as long. She is only focused on one side of the coin.
I don’t have sweet tooth and I dont eat too much carb related dishes, but I felt so sleepy after I ate food, and I always had low energy (this was like a year ago). Thanks to Dr. Berg’s videos, I became aware of internal inflammation. I changed my oils to Avocado, eat a lot more vegetables and healthy meats, now my mind is always clear, no more dragging through the days.
I recently discovered that primal kitchen makes a mayonnaise without seed oils! They also make a sugar free ketchup and barbeque sauce. There are companies beginning to make things that we can safely eat. You have to search for it, but they are out there. Let's support these companies who actually care about our health!
God please protect Dr. Berg and Dr. Shanahan. I will keep them and all the other Drs and people that are out here risking their lives to open our eyes how awful a lot of these “HEALTH” ORGANIZATION.

My final visit to my previous health care doctor was when he made the comment, don't worry we have a pill for that. He was referring to my cholesterol being elevated. Im 62 widower, my wife was murdered with covid. I'm active, hunt, fish, always doing something. We moved out of the city twenty years ago and I know for certain that the life style change has improved my health many times over. Fresh eggs cooked in real butter every day. The first of 24' I had a check-up ( new doctor) and my blood panel came back perfect. All numbers were right on mark, except cholesterol.
Doctors are the same everywhere in North-America. That is disastrous. No wonder since their training is the same. All false studies paid by the Rockefeller for the past 50-60 years. All western medicine doctors do is to prescribe... or send you to another 'specialist' who is going to make an assessment or a decision. In addition, doctors are told - and they blindly believe it - that a new version of a drug is superior to the previous one ; and that is what they prescribe. Some of those new medications do the opposite of what they are supposed to solve. Furthermore, young doctors are bureaucrats who type while you talk to them. They barely look, they do not touch. The ultimate truth : if each of us had a truly healthy lifestyle, we would hardly ever need to see a doctor. And I have been telling for the past four years that medical books will have to be re-written one day ; that is how false is the information those books contains. For two months straight earlier this year, I boiled all my vegetables, cut entirely all seed oils, had no alcohol, no cheese, no peanut butter, ate better bread, etc. One of the goals was to improve the metabolism of the liver and kidneys, and I lost 7 kilos (+/- 15 pounds in the process - had to buy new pants !). One more word : massage, acupuncture and also osteopathy (Osteopathy is a 5-year course in Canada ! ) have done incredibly more for my overall health and well-being. Not the fraudulent western medicine.
Celerbrate your cholesterol. The higher the better imo. Ppl need to know the truth about how VITAL cholesterol is. You need higher hdl and higher ldl is usually a sign you have insulin resistance but NON of it is 😂BAD. Above 200 or 54 ( depending on where you live) is imo optimal. The pharma priests will attempt to put you on statins without missing a beat.
Cholesterol level norms were measured differently about 30 or more years ago. The norm was 300, now it's about 190 (if I remember the numbers correctly). You probably have good cholesterol, they've just lowered the norms to accommodate modern theories.
@@ME-vk6tv came here to say this. If all of our metrics are interconnected, and they're all looking good except one, then that one is by definition an anomaly.
Thank you Dr Berg for educating us. I had a devastating eye diagnosis 6 mos ago. I started intermittent fasting, low carbs, no sugar diet as well as omitting all seed oils. My recent eye exam shows no progression in lesions! Prayer and fasting.
Be careful with your electrolytes. I had stable AMD for years, but ended up in ER with a stiff neck. They gave Dilantin and Valium which sent by BP plunging. They pushed saline into me by IV to bring it back up. I was released on Friday night and they led to see my regular dr Monday. Went in and was in AFIB. Back to ER and they put me on metropolol and eliquis. Five months later I had an eye bleed Finally did more specific research and found out blood thinners increase the likelihood of wet AMD by from over 9x to 11.6 x. More research showed the initial stiff neck was symptomatic of low Mg. In process of getting a watchman put in. Had to have a cardio version but no further episodes of AFIB. I now supplement with mag. Glycinate and eat avocados . I am ketovore since about 8 months.
I just saw my physician assistant since Dr. are unheard of now. And she was not liking the fact that I was doing Keto even though I told her I feel better now than ever. And lost weight.

The last time I used a seed oil was back in the 80s there were a couple years living on my own that I used Wesson oil to cook with but then I met people from the middle east, and they introduced me to Olive oil, and I never went back. I remember my mother had lard, butter and tallow around for cooking. Until I was 18 my mother cooked three meals a day for any of us that wanted to eat and because of this I never got into the habit of eating out. fast forward 40 years I still do not eat out and I use lots of butter and olive oil when cooking.
To avoid seed oils is even harder, than to avoid sugar. But it´s possible. That´s what makes videos like this so valuable. The more you know, the better you can choose, what you eat. 👍
I had the start of macular degeneration and arthritis for about 10 years. I cut out nut oìls and sugar. I then ate mostly oily fish, green vegetables, and avocados . I later noticed a great improvement, in my joints, and at my next eye examination there was no sign of macular degeneration.
She graduated medical school only a couple years after I graduated High School and she looks younger or the same age. I will believe everything she says! I say that in jest but can guarantee what we're eating has a huge factor on health, longevity and aging appearances,
When you start reading ingredient labels, it's amazing how many products contain hydrogenated seed oils. I've been avoiding them for about 6 months and feel better for it.
Yup, I gave up Mexican food for this reason and create it in alternative ways at home. I basically don't eat out anymore. I like to know where my food is coming from, and cooking is a great pastime as I age.
The issue isn't with seed oils per se, but with their method of processing. It's generally tough to make sweeping generalizations, but based on the research I've examined, it's clear that any oil or food can turn toxic if not processed correctly. On the flip side, cold-pressed seed oils, like olive oil, are proven to be beneficial for health in numerous studies. This concept is also nicely captured in various educational videos.
You’re absolutely right! The processing of seed oils really matters. While they can be healthy, improper processing can make them harmful. Cold-pressed oils like olive oil are definitely beneficial, and there’s a lot of research to support that. It’s all about being aware of what we eat and how it’s produced. Great insights!
I just started reading a book called Dark Calories, how vegetable oils destroy our health.. this video is great timing ! Edit here - i wrote this comment before the video started and i see you have the author on your show 😂🙏
Seed oils don't destroy your health. Highly processed oils do. Seed oils which are not highly processed actually have huge health and healing capacities. Especially with detoxing.
What a smart woman. I've learned a few things just by listening to her and Dr. Berg for 20 minutes. I love people who give back and share their wisdom.
Thankfully I wasn’t a high consumer of seed oils other than chips. Definitely have been trying to clean up my intake of toxic foods. Love your work, thank you
If you eat out at all, you are consuming some amount of seed oils. Nothing you can do unless you cook every single meal at home. This just isn't feasible for most people.
THANK YOU :) I watched your videos on harmful effects of sugar nine months ago. I stopped eating processed sugar and gave up most bread. This simple change has led to life changing effect. I’ve lost 31 pounds. I just added another hole in my belt over Christmas. Peace and love, Kevin
Imagine the marketing dollars that went into labeling "vegetable oils" as healthy. It astounds me every day when I realize how much the bad science and gaslighting have been promoted over the last several decades. Sometimes because we didn't know better, but many times, people knew better, but were consumed by greed and status. It is amazing that our health care system hasn't crash sooner.
Yes , my husband had a heart attack at 37 in 1984. His entire recommended diet was all wrong. He was very strong of constitution and lived another 24 years. bypass at 2 years gave a real boost but had his diet always been based on current information he probably would have lived healthy and vibrant into his 90’s like his grandparents.

Outstanding guest! One of the top TH-cam health channels with one of the top health authors! Her book "Deep Nutrition: Why Your Genes Need Traditional Food" is top shelf information that I have been recommending folks read for years. It goes well beyond seed oils, covering what she calls the "four pillars" of traditional cuisine (meat on the bone, organ meats, fermented and sprouted, fresh/raw). She explains in science based but easy to understand ways how to return to a healthy relationship with food. She was advocating low carb way before most understood these issues, and there are other excellent tips too numerous to mention here. Also available in Audible. Been recommending her book to my college students for years. Respect!
No body knows enough science to refute things because science (and math) haven't been taught in school for years. Rational thought also isn't taught. Common sense apparently isn't common at all. Thank you, Dr. Shanahan and Dr. Berg for having her on your channel.
Science and math is still taught in American schools. Blue states still excel whereas Red states do not. I love that from watching this I now understand why with very fair skin, I no longer sunburn (and I dont use sunscreen). I have not had seed oils in about 9 years and have not needed sunscreen in 8 years, nor sunglasses. Thanks for having her on, Dr. Berg! Dr. Shanahan was great. I wonder if she knows if the fungus that often grows on peanuts (aflatoxin), is still in peanut oil or not? I wont eat peanuts anymore because of that cancer-causing fungus, but if it turns out no aflatoxin can exist in peanut oil, I may reconsider. I love cooking with ghee. Great flavor, high smoke point. Thanks again!
“… Doctors are actually dangerous when you’re trusting your doctor’s nutrition advice, - you’re going to end up sick” from a Dr. I am truly on my own now with this journey
We have always been on our own. Everything else is an illusion built to make us feel safe. The important thing is that we have more information and historical evidence than any other point in time. With our free will we can take control and make the best decisions we can.
I stopped eating French Fries a long time ago. I may have a few on rare occasions cooked at home and made from fresh sliced potatoes, but that’s rare. I just felt like fast food fries especially were detrimental to my health. I do believe it has helped me slow down oxidation in my body.
I've been on a ketovore diet for the last 6 years. I've lost about 50 lbs over the first year and kept it off since. After Thanksgiving and my birthday, I gained about 10 lbs, so I went on a 3-day fast and dropped over 11 lbs. I'll jump back on the wagon this week and do another 3-day fast next week before Xmas week (when I know I'm going to gain some weight). Even though we are about the same height, I've always been WAY bigger than my best friend, who I've known for about 35 years. He's got a very thin frame, whereas my frame is more like a linebacker. However, about 4 years ago, his weight surpassed mine. At one point, he got onto the "eat every 2 hours" diet. I told him that was _horrible_ for his metabolism, but he completely went up and left on me, so I threw up my hands and said, hey, whatever you want to do. He's substantially heavier now. He and I and several of our friends were just on a Zoom call a couple of night ago. He literally looks like he's 10 months pregnant. And, of course, when they ordered food, it was fast-food, which is automatically horrible for you. Everything is high-carb and saturated in seed oils. The buns, the fries, and even the meat is cooked in seed oils. I, on the other hand, am eating grass-finished meat. Granted, I still haven't reached my goal of getting down to 190 (I'm currently at 205), but I'm well on my way whereas he is going the complete opposite direction. And his mood clearly shows that. BTW, I also just had a head-on collision with a semi truck while riding my motorcycle about 4 months ago. I had a concussion (obviously) and shattered the tib/fib just above the ankle on my left leg and kneecap. I firmly believe that I am healing as well and as fast as I am because of the dietary choices I've made over the last 6 years.
Yes! I severed a nerve in my palm in 2003 and after the operation the surgeon asked me what I was doing to heal the scar so well as you can barely even see the scar which runs across my entire palm. I believe it was all the betacaratone in the 800ml fresh carrot & ginger juice I was drinking everyday. That and tonnes of salad and veggies, I just wish I knew back then to eat meat as meat provides protein and amino acids for healing. When the body is in healing stage it makes Such a difference what you eat. Wishing you a speedy recovery! ❤🎉
WOW WOW WOW!! When Dr Shanahan gave her opening remarks in this video about how doctors are taught almost nothing real about nutrition and its affects on health, my jaw dropped and i just smiled and nodded because I have been asking myself this question all my life; Why do doctors and “nutritionists” not know anything about how to actually be healthy through nutrition??? I was always so frustrated by the huge disconnect. I am so glad I saw this video! Thank you!!! I have only cooked with olive oil, avocado oil and butter for my family for years. Now, I’m going to start checking my ingredients for seed oils, because I am a huge mayo fan, but I just noticed my “olive oil mayonnaise” also contains canola oil and soybean oil! Not good. Seriously, thank you!
Read Dr. Robert Lustig's book Metabolical and you will learn a plethora of other interesting facts about how nutrition/FDA/AMA and other health related systems are dysfunctional, and how they misrepresent the truth.
Love these two!!!! At time of posting there was 119 down votes? Must be the seed oil company CEO's, because who would give this phenomenal information a thumbs down?

Thank you so much Dr.Berg for all your educational information and support. Since I learned about this topic watching your videos, I avoid seed oils. My gut improved, no more heart burns, no more inflammation.
I gave up all seed oils a year ago and replaced them with EVOO and Avocado oils. I feel I did myself a favor by doing this! Only wish I would have known about how bad seed oils are for us a long time ago! Thank you, Dr. Berg,!
Please bring Dr Shanahan back on for another interview. What great information. I can finally explain to my family why seed oils are so bad for you. Thank you Dr Berg. Because of your work my family and I cut out seed oils a year and a half ago. I make everything from scratch now… hard work but worth it!
What she didn't cover, was that these seed oils also contain Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS. AKA dimethylpolysiloxane, dimethicone), which is a silicone polymer used as an "anti-foaming agent" . This stuff is used in industrial lubrication primary, and has snuck into our cosmetics and now our food. PDMS is a _required_ ingredient in commercial frying oils for "safety" to the cooks to prevent the oil from foaming and boiling over at high temps. It can take up to two years for your liver to get rid of 1tsp of PDMS accumulated from eating fried fast food.
That cooking aid as they call it is also hidden in jams particularly strawberry jam as an anti foaming agent to stop it foaming when cooking and isn't in the list of ingredients either which is criminal in my opinion. I didn't know it was also in oils! Thank you.
I've been duped for 40 years.but thankfully the last 5 years it's butter lard olive oil read labels religiously . 3 daily eggs and any meat I want. Don't get gout anymore. 90 percent reduction of sugar and booze. My bio pic is me at 60...still much the same. Just greyer
I used to have a high uric acid in my blood. That time my doctor told me to avoid foods that are high in purine, so I avoided them, but still suffers from pain and inflammation. I have a gouty arthritis, pains and swellings specially in my fingers, knees and feet. Even though I follow my doctor’s advices, my fingers still swell and I have difficulty walking sometimes. But ever since I avoided anything with sugar and bread my gout has gone away. I don’t take any medications because I’ve learned that the side effects from taking them are more harmful. So thankful for Dr. Berg and the likes for telling us the real causes of the inflammation and for giving us true advices that most doctors don’t know and won’t tell us. Now I am pain free and inflammation free for years. I feel so much younger compared to when I was 30 years ago. I still eat rice and uses only coconut oil. I am now 61, but looks so much younger, fit, living happily and healthier.
Consume one table spoon full of extra virgin olive oil before you eat in the morning do it for 3 months and see how you feel but make sure you buy real extra virgin olive oil they are expensive and the real one should have a peppery taste after you consume.
I've been removing seed oils from my diet for well over a year and it's made a huge difference. I'll pick up a copy of her book, thank you for the reference Eric.
I’m on carnivore. Use lard, suet, tallow, butter and olive oil in my cooking. My favourite treat is fried pork fat. 😂 (Only have joint pain when I consume carbs. 😊) Am gradually putting back into my diet small quantities of veg like pumpkin, onion, garlic and capsicum. Occasionally have take away like battered fish (I peel the batter off) and chips. I am rethinking that because of this discussion. Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention doctors.
My health improves by using seed oils intelligently. Seed oils are not bad - the exact opposite, very beneficial. It's the ultra processed ones which are not good - very different.

Thank you for featuring Dr. Cate Shanahan. They do not get the credit they justly deserve for being the forerunners in this movement against seed oils.

Unfortunately, as a Hispanic I was raised on that Mazola corn oil. It’s ingrained in their heads that is healthy. I cut out processed foods and fast food a couple of years back. Switched from seed oils to coconut, olive, avocado and tallow. Make our family’s personal care items (soap, deodorant, creams, shampoo and conditioner, lotions, lip balm and even the little bit of makeup I use). Being a nurse for 17 yrs taught me a lot about the truth about the medical field. Needless to say our health is way better. I also make natural medicine with herbs like tinctures and herbal balms for anything we need. My question is, does this apply to the oils we put on our skin? As most come from the seed.
As you know, the skin is highly absorbent, especially children's skin. My policy is, if you wouldn't eat it, then don't put it on your skin. I also make my own general moisturizer with avocado oil, cocoa butter, distilled water and some aloe vera. I have encouraged my extended family to avoid the industrial seed oils, with some success. Is your family on board with going back to the traditional fats?
I used to use sunflower and vegetable oils in cooking years ago and I frequently got migraines that knocked me out for 2 days and then I started to use organic extra virgin olive oil instead and I have not had a migraine since.

What can I say Dr. Berg that has not been said. Thank you for bringing Dr. Shanahan on your program. I will be purchasing her book today. I remember helping my mom 65 years ago cook. She strictly used Crisco. Then I used Wesson oil for years. I decided about five years ago to use real olive oil and butter while cooking. I am a heart patient in my mid seventies. Work out and try to stay healthy. I have been looking to eat more nutritionally. This is totally a awake up call I needed. I enjoy golf and would like to play golf into my 80’s. With exercise and healthy eating recommendations provided by your You Tube informational videos I might be able to achieve that. Again thank you for having Dr. Shanahan. God bless.
Thanks for introducing us to Dr Catharine Shanahan, Dr Berg. That said, Dr Shanahan should consider researching and writing a book about sugars and artificial sweeteners, which could be aptly titled, “Dark Sugars”!!

Awsome interview I think I’m going to start a restaurant that sells only foods cooked in the right kind of oil she mentioned at the end of this video. Also I’m buying this book today
You can't avoid produce/fruits --- such as avocados, lemons/limes, mangoes, asparagus, grapes, potatoes, watermelons, broccoli, endives, apples, pears, plums, nectarines, and even salad --- that are coated with Apeel's Organipeel or edipeel, unless you grow them yourself. Seed oils and Apeel's product are the most damaging to our bodies.
I use mostly bacon grease, beef tallow, avocado oil and butter for cooking. Coconut oil for lining a baking dish and olive oil. Occasionally sesame oil in asian dishes.
I love it when I meet a medical doctor who also has studied knowledge of the European based medical system. I have met, and consulted with two such doctors in Costa Rica. I fell in love in the 70s, with the theme: While Doctors can be Helpers, The Healer is within Each One of Us.
The concern doesn't stem from seed oils themselves, but rather from how they are processed. While it's often difficult to make absolute claims, the studies I've looked into suggest that all oils and foods can become harmful if they undergo improper processing. In contrast, cold-pressed seed oils, such as olive oil, have been demonstrated to be healthy according to several research findings.
Absolutely, you hit the nail on the head! It’s so true that the way seed oils are processed makes all the difference. While the oils themselves can be quite healthy, if they’re not handled properly, they can turn into something not so great for us. And you’re spot on about cold-pressed oils like olive oil-they really do have a lot of health benefits, and there’s plenty of research to back that up. It’s all about being mindful of what we’re consuming and how it’s made. Great points!
There is still a question of metabolising unsaturated fats. They are not broken down for energy as efficiently as saturated fats, so excessive amounts could be detrimental.
Your comment is quite misleading. Almost all of the seeds processed into oils are not capable of being pressed into oils the traditional way. I think there is only 1 seed that can be turned into oil on a traditional way, but it requires truck loads in order to get a small bottle. It's totally unusable for the market. In order to process these seeds to create oil, they have to treat them in a factory like you would create any other chemical, because they are factory chemicals. Simply put, they're not food, there lubricant from cheap materials.
OMG one of the best interviews you've done. She is amazing and so correct. I had to clean my diet up 5 years ago due to an eye condition. I eat so cleanly that when I go into a restaurant just to have a salad with dressing on the side I can taste and feel the seed oil in my system the next day. The human is actually killing itself and I wonder so many people are walking around toxic
Thank you Dr Berg for having Dr Shanahan on. Why on earth on earth, in this day and age, are doctors not getting into gaining the knowledge that you have? Surely, for years now, there have been alarm bells sounding at decibels that break the sound barrier? Do they get drugged in medical school or something? Am I wrong to think that 'they couldn't be that asleep and ignorant, surely'?
It it’s important to make our own salad dressing. It is much better made with extra virgin olive oil. I use kefir for creamy salad dressings, and can make 100 island, ranch, caesar, Swap out mayonnaise and use kefir, add creaminess with organic sour cream.,

It’s what you make of it.

It depends on how active you are too, if on our butts all day, yeah OMAD is perfect

I read Dr. Atkins book in 1999 and have called french fries "cancer sticks" ever since.
I started following Dr. Atkins in the '70s, off and on but until I found Eric Berg I wasn't consistent. I have been with Eric Berg for 2 years now. Smart man, he researches so I don't have to
I followed Dr Atkins since 2003, Im 66+ and in great shape. I always used butter, even tho both my parents followed low fat & margarine diets. They died at 56 & 64, dad had heart probs. I have large acreage in Northern NC with forest & hike 2-3 times a week for exercise. Diet really does make a difference.
I'm 7, 3. Female and used to exercise a lot and go hiking etc. Seem to have slowed down the last few months with stuff going on here. You are so lucky to close to areas you can hike and enjoy the scenery. Hello from Fort Worth @@ShalomShalom-d5c

Are they still bad if baked or cooked in bacon fat?

When I was 10 years old our family used coconut oil and pork oil to cook. I used to envy those families that could afford seed oil ( vegetable oil, peanut oil,.sesame etc.) .
After 5 decades it finally dawn on me we were eating healthier meal cooked with coconut oil.😅

Respect!
Thanks for mentioning her books title. I'm going to check it out 👍
No body knows enough science to refute things because science (and math) haven't been taught in school for years. Rational thought also isn't taught. Common sense apparently isn't common at all. Thank you, Dr. Shanahan and Dr. Berg for having her on your channel.
Really it seems most the current education system is to brainwash common sense out of people.
Science and math is still taught in American schools. Blue states still excel whereas Red states do not. Oh what a great country we would have if we focused on identifying facts, analyzed information objectively, and considering different perspectives to make logical decisions, rather than solely relying on emotions or biases. Racism, Misogyny and cultural resentment are reasons why [she] lost.
Since I quit eating French Fries back in July of this year my body aches and pains have DISAPPEARED!

Dr.Shanahan Is Spot On ! First learned about this 25 yrs ago from Dr. Weil in Tucson , he stressed keep cooking temps down even with good oils !
I wish you a speedy recovery!

Avocado mayonnaise from Primal Kitchen. No sugar in it either.
The Chosen brand of mayo at Sprouts is great! I like it better than Primal Kitchen. I have all the dressings from Primal Kitchen...they are amazing!

I gave up all seed oils a year ago and replaced them with EVOO and Avocado oils. I feel I did myself a favor by doing this! Only wish I would have known about how bad seed oils are for us a long time ago! Thank you, Dr. Berg,!
No problem. What's important is that you are now using EVOO and avocado oil. Keep it up!
Please bring Dr Shanahan back on for another interview. What great information. I can finally explain to my family why seed oils are so bad for you. Thank you Dr Berg. Because of your work my family and I cut out seed oils a year and a half ago. I make everything from scratch now… hard work but worth it!
Seed oils are not bad for you - It's the ultra processed oils that are bad for you. There is a huge difference between the two.
Thanks for the info!
Yikes!!!
That cooking aid as they call it is also hidden in jams particularly strawberry jam as an anti foaming agent to stop it foaming when cooking and isn't in the list of ingredients either which is criminal in my opinion. I didn't know it was also in oils! Thank you.

Here's the thing about cigarettes-- smokers are addicted to the 599 chemicals that are put into the tobacco, NOT the nicotine!! They do not get the credit they justly deserve for being the forerunners in this movement against seed oils.

I just ordered the audio booj! I'm visually impaired. Great interview; i recently switched to only olive oil, avacado oul and butter.

This information could save so many people who suffer from the effects of eating foods cooked in seed oils! Dr. Berg, your videos rock!
Happy to share videos that can help you all.
Olive oil is NOT a seed oil.
Fantastic to have Dr. Berg and Dr. Shanahan. Thank you to both Dr. !
Just finished her book, I thought I knew everything about seed oils and boy was I wrong. Absolutely enlightening and never touching the stuff again
