Every woman on the planet should hear the Wisdom of Sandra Hart. We are so fortunate you, dear Sandra, decided to share your life lessons with us. Thank you, thank you, thank you. You are so beautiful, inside and out. When I dined alone, which I came to enjoy, I always had a book in my purse. Alone, in peace, I sipped wine and read. My first trip abroad, alone, was the time I realized my worth and strength as an independent woman. Everything you say is true, valuable and priceless. May God continue to bless you.

Georgia, I hope every single woman who feels that they can’t be independent and eat or travel on their own read your comment. There are so many single woman today who travel and down independently that it has become a normal way of life for so many wonderful women. We can’t stop living because we are alone.❤️

I love what you said. As a window I need to embrace dining alone... Cooking good meals for myself and enjoying them. I love the idea of having something to read.

After the devastating loss of my husband and best friend 5 years ago, I have grown exponentially and emerged a better person. I can honestly say that I'm happy... I love my life even though I miss my husband and the life we shared. And though his physical presence is gone, he remains with me in memories and my heart. I am deeply grateful for my family and true friends who always support and love me, for the opportunies and choices that have come my way, and for my courage to accept life after loss ❤

You are such a Beacon on TH-cam Sandra. I am 30 + years younger, I am drawn to watch & listen to your wisdom & experience, encouragement & I want you to know that your words are sooo needed today more than ever to all age groups of women! You are so many different women to me. A Mother, a Sister, a Friend.... You are so beautiful in every way. I was treated as an object to be dressed up by my own mother, I have been abused, assaulted, degraded & objectified in the work setting because of my outer appearance ( told I was "just a pretty face" ) & then when I gained qualification in an intellectually demanding field of work I was excluded by the women in the workplace out of jealousy. I felt for so long as if I would never "fit in" & I have been rebuilding my identity as a person & your words have become a part of that process for me. So Thank you Sandra for the strong woman you are & for having a strong confident voice on this platform!!! I am pressing forward every day to take hold of my goals & be the woman that I see you have become & you still continue to grow because you are so real & embrace growing & developing yourself in every way from the inside. You have beauty that shows on your face, your smile, the sparkle in your eyes & the wisdom that comes from your heart. God Bless you Sandra

Great tips as always Sandra! I would like to add something that I myself am guilty of. Never worry about your future. Plan for it the best you can but don't worry over something you have no control over. If you're constanly worried about tomorrow, next week or the next ten years, you're wasting the day you have now. Live for the day. 💓

Hi Sandra: The worst tragedy in life is to lose a child. Having said that, I lost my beloved husband when I was just 43. I managed to keep myself together for my two children, and I found love again six years later. Unfortunately, although we were engaged, things did not work out. Now that I'm "past my prime", I've become embittered about my life without love for the past sixteen years. I never dreamed I'd grow older without a partner. Nothing seems to fill that void - I miss love terribly. Someone to whom you are everything. I don't think I'll ever accept it, although I've tried. This was a beautiful video for all of us - thank you so much. Your grace and beauty shines through! Many blessings, Rosemarie 🌹❤🌻 :)

      @lifewithsandrahart  6 ปีที่แล้ว +27

Marc C. Rosemarie, I have a wonderful friend who has your story. She felt for a long time that happiness had been ripped from beneath her feet. She has since decided to embrace her situation and take care of her dreams by widening her circle of friends through traveling and meeting other women who feel their lives have been unfulfilled because of some kind of loss. She is in a great place right now knowing if her soulmate does or does it find her, she can be happy either way. . You are stronger and more worthy than you think, Rosemarie. Who knows what tomorrow will bring. ❤️. Sandra.

The worst tragedy in life is the one that happens to you...the one that becomes your tragedy. At least I think so.

    • @laurawilson2145
      @laurawilson2145 3 ปีที่แล้ว +15

Dear Rosemary, I feel your loss. I too am alone after losing my partner of 49 years. You must understand that a woman is NEVER past her prime unless she decides to believe that she is. I'm 74 and just thrilled to be alive. To have a few good friends that care. to still have my health ---- my first wealth!. Please take this friendly advice from a girl who has 'been there, done that.' If you actively seek out love, none will be found. But honestly believe in yourself and bathe in the knowledge that love will find YOU when it is your time to be loved. God will provide.
      Blessings to you always.

I found my independence at the age of 9 when my second mom left . My dad worked 3 jobs , one brother always at a friends house, and one brother into sports. I did the cooking, cleaning, laundry, and pretty much played by myself…by the time all the chores were done, my friends were in for the night. Sounds like a lot for a 9 year old, but I learned so much about myself thru all that. I also am 100% ok with just being with me. Too many bad relationships have taught me that sometimes I’m actually my own best company.😊

This has touched me so much. I admire you so and feel that you always speak "just to me" . I too feel that dealing with horrendous breast cancer, the death of my sister to the same disease and my husband's stroke have coursed the mosaic of my life. I try so hard to not feel sorry for myself. I too feel that I am stronger than I ever knew. I wish I could speak to my husband about fears, money etc... but it is not possible. I had a non existent relationship with my mother-in- law for years. She does not know my children. This stemmed from the divorce of my husband's parents when he was young and her new husband resented her 2 children. She chose him over them. My husband tried so hard to reach out over the years to no success. After his stroke, I picked up the phone and called her. Her husband had passed away . She came right away. She was nervous when she saw me, but I opened my arms and we hugged and she has been in our lives ever since. She lives far away, but she checks on my husband. Anyhoo, I know I ramble. You have this effect on me 😊 I have to always remember to take care of me also. Thank you for these reminders. You are a blessing to me❤️

JEAN OLIVEIRA I often question why life throws such big wrenches in good people’s lives-including mine. My answer finally came after years of questioning life and the answer I got was ‘ you are stronger and have the tools to help others, because you have been there.’ I first wrote my story and traveled and lectured about mental illness, gave my time to mental health organizations, and try to spread the word about mental illness and the stigma attached. You were meant, Amir g other things, to be the healer of your husband’s long needed relationship with his mother before it was impossible. Embracing her was a beautiful act of compassion and kindness by erasing the past hurts. Forgiveness is one of the best things we can give, yet one of the hardest to do. I know it will be difficult because if your current situation, but please try and every day make some alone time for yourself and never give up. You are very special and recognize that. Good things will come your way. ❤️. Sandra

Sandra, Sandra, Sandra.....my "Gem"!!! Wow Girl.....so much to think about!! When I think about how things have been going for me since I was a little girl, I should have written a book!! Never had much of a childhood. I was in charge of my younger siblings all the time. My mother was a very "promiscuous" woman and there were always different "Daddy's" around. I can say, sadly, that I never got to know her that well, because she died from cervical cancer at the age of 33....I was 12. Oh, for the record, her name was actually Ruth!!! When I hear of young girls who can't face growing up under some similar conditions and live in rubber rooms (no offense!), my heart goes out to them. I have been blessed to be able to talk about my life and I know the Lord has made me a stronger person for it. I've made my share of mistakes in life's decisions, but learned to not dwell on them. I am proud of how I turned out....I don't drink (maybe a wine cooler now and then!), I don't smoke (couldn't afford them now anyway!), I don't do drugs (don't need them to be happy, the Lord gave me a great personality!😉), but I do like to cook and bake to "fulfill" me... yeah buddy!!!! I keep busy with working in my yard, crocheting, knitting, crafts, riding my bike and can't wait for Covid-19 to be over when they open the roller skating rink again. We are in charge of our lives and they are what we make them, right??? I'm 72 and going strong!! Even working on some of my bucket items. Praying the world gets better for ALL! Again, be safe! ❤️❤️❤️

I’m watching your video in June 2022 and I’m 29 year old female. Your wisdom is so relatable and eye opening to me. You’ve managed to capture it all in such a simple and beautiful manner that I’m short of words to describe it. You are like a mom/sister/friend/grandma/mother in law every women deserves!!! You’re Amazing Sandra. Currently I’m volunteering to give back to the community and finding my purpose of life. It’s been a year since I left my ex in an abusive relationship. I don’t like being vocal about it. But looking back today to a year ago, I’m grateful to the Almighty to where I’m today. To all the people who are in a similar situation, please walk away, it’s never too late. I’m the end, you maybe alone, but you learn to be your best friend and it’s absolutely worth it!!!

Reta, thank you ever so much and a very early happy 80th birthday to you. You are going to be into your eighth decade, joining me on my travels, too. I am so sorry that you lost your husband two years ago. A lost like that takes a piece of our heart when it happens. But I know he has left you with wonderful memories. I just baked oatmeal cookies the other day. I have a recipe that my mother used to make all the time using raisins and peanuts in her oatmeal cookies. I loved them as a little girl, my children love them and now they are making them for their children. Thanks for listening.❤️

Sending you so much love. You have profoundly impacted my life, and I want to share something deeply personal with you. I am 24 now and am grappling with the grief of losing my dog. She was a constant source of comfort during my most challenging times, guiding me through mental struggles. Despite her passing from sepsis at just 5.8 years old, I find myself blaming myself every day for her loss. She brought so much wisdom and spirituality int o my life really I can feel her on a spiritual level and it guides through life

My realization of independence came at the early age of about 7 years old. As an only child of a divorced mother who was very ill with heart issues. I learned to listen to her breathing and her movements during the night. There were many times that I had to call an ambulance to come for her. I became the mother of my mother. Although it was a difficult childhood, I am grateful that I learned responsibility and gained independence at a very early age.

This has been a real blessing to me. I know what it is like to make a change, mine came at age 70 after taking care of my mother until her death at age 95. Almost my entire life was filled with hurt and disappointments at every turn. Now at age 78 I am finally accepting who I am because I have spent a lot of time alone. My faith is what keeps me going as well. I still have hope I will not lose that.

Sandra, I share your love of books and most of all I appreciate what you shared about being in a marriage with a man who had paranoia and Scizophrenia. I loved him deeply at age 21 and thankfully avoided marrying him. I felt it essential to get away from him, to save my life.
It's comforting and healing to know that you and others experienced this and understand.

I waited until my day off to watch this. wonderful vlog. I found myself affirming outloud what you said in the beginning of the video regarding adversity in our lives. I experienced the most traumatic about 6 yrs ago that has changed me forever, and from the beginning I was ever-mindful that I did not want to be 'damaged' for life with baggage. I relied most on my faith and would tell myself as if a mantra, "Lord, I don't understand but I know that no matter what, you love me." I knew that I may never know the reasons, and I accepted that. I also focused my energy not on understanding the 'why', but instead on healing myself. To have focused on the 'why' would have been to expend useless mental energy, of which I had little of at the time. I knew I was independent most likely after I graduated college and had my own place, car, and began travel. I am a bit of a loner which is an okay thing. I do enjoy being with myself and travel alone out of the country. I have had many people not understand, 'how I could ever do that?' At times I admit, those comments have made me feel like I am an oddball but I just shove past it. To spend hours in a museum if I want is delightful. Okay, now i am getting tangential. sorry I have written a tome but just wanted to let you know that I share many thoughts. regarding the large age difference in a partner...there many not seem like a big difference if one is 20 and the other 40 but think about when one is 60 and the other is 80. would I be abandoned because I am 'useless' to them? Does one have so much in common the older we get with an age difference? I don't know. food for thought. I probably have not felt discriminated against in the workplace because I am in a profession that is pretty much dominated by women. I went to an all women's Catholic college and was fortunate enough to be educated by a compassionate and understanding group of 3rd order Franciscans that told us we could do anything but to do it in a dignified way.

Susan Dhifaoui What an open, honest and personally insightful comment, not only on your life, but life itself. I have always been a loner, inside my head a lot and always thought out of the box. That just who I am and your needs are just who you are. That’s why none of us are cookie cutter women. We may have many of the same dreams and needs, but each of us is unique. None of us is perfect and we’re never given a guidebook in all related things human. We have moral teachings, but living involves so many choices and decisions we can’t always get everything right. Thanks again for your heartfelt post. ❤️. Sandra

Thank You! I am sitting here this morning recovering from that crazy painful biopsy of my uterus yesterday and worrying about the outcome. You made me feel so much better 😊 In my 62 years on this earth I can say I have experienced many headaches and joys. I keep telling myself this issue I am having now is a little blip in the road. Oh and to touch on the subject of men. I lost my first husband when I was 48 and had been married to since I was 18. We had three children. That was hard. I never dreamed I would get married again. But I did and to a much younger man 🧐..... lol And that was 13 years ago and he was right there with me yesterday holding my hand as I had the test done. I do have a mother- in -law and have a lot in common. Age being close....lol she is older than I am but we are like best friends and for all that I am happy. And I am ever so happy finding you on TH-cam. Back to my worry and looking forward to your next video ❤️

Sandra, what a wonderful video. My sweet mother was Ruth in the Order of the Eastern Star. I heard her recite those verses many times. She was an amazing role model in her life to me and others. I told her daily that I loved her, but I just hope that I thanked her enough. She was always smiling and brought joy to all who knew her. I grew up an only child. My half brother was already grown. I was creative too, and I could entertain myself. I really loved to have friends to spend the night with me. I have been independent since I was a little girl. My mother and daddy taught me how to face challenges during my life. Thank you for bringing back such wonderful memories of my mother. Even though I’m 72 almost 73 and only a few steps behind you, you continue to give me strength to face life as it comes. Thank you for all that you do to empower us women to be better role models for others.

Yes, I was a Rainbow Girl too, and later joined the Order of the Eastern Star. My mother and dad were Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron. My dad was Worthy Patron with me when I was Worthy Matron of our Order and then for the School. My parents loved me so much, and I miss them terribly. Now, I’m trying to be the parent and grandparent they were. I’ve been married 52 years to a wonderful husband. If I should lose my husband I do not plan to remarry as my mother did after my father died. My mother had a church wedding at age 74. She could really except change. She was a very southern lady, and she married a man from Chicago. I really think you and I share much of the same things of our childhood. I was very fortunate to have a very sweet mother in law.

Sandra, I do not comment very much but truly enjoy your you tube videos. Your reading from the book of Ruth, which by the way is one of my favorite book from the Bible, warms my heart. I have listened repeatedly to this one and have walked away with a peace within every time. So, I do not find your videos too long but wish they were longer. Thank you for the person you are. I too was married 40 years with a bipolar Schizophrenic husband. He was not a danger to any of us. He filed for divorce, which I never saw coming, to be with another woman. So again, thank you so much from someone who used to watch you on Romper Room and now here. God Bless. ❤️

Thank you so much for connecting today. The book of Ruth has such relevance today for all of us women. I revisit her story often, too. Living with a family member who is mentally ill is extremely challenging and many times heart breaking. I watched the deterioration of my husband, our marriage and our family unit. It was one of the most difficult times of my life. My children and I survived, but it changed every one of us. I completely understand what you have been through, but I know you have come out the other side a stronger person who is now free to lead a better and happier life! So nice to hear from you. ❤️. I’m happily single , no headache at all. I love the book of Ruth. As a woman it’s good to be liberated. The more older I become the more modest I tend to be in my dressing and, I try to keep myself busy with reading , crochet , embroidery, making floor mats and decorating my humble abode. I also keep my communication with my God, because without him I would surely be a lost cause. I practice self care and humility. I try my utmost best to take things one day at a time. I Try to encourage somebody and live an example. I’m encouraged by your words, will watch your vids daily to gain knowledge , so I too can help someone on their daily walk.

I bought a copy of the Story of Ruth on your suggestion. I'm sure I Will enjoy it.
I just turned 50 and much of what you've discussed resonated with me. I feel that most of us can only "look back" well in our 40's at the earliest and it seems that the capability for me is getting stronger. I feel that when I found my independence was when a series of challenging events began to happen in my life. Job loss, lifestyle change (due to a job loss, our family started a frugal journey which led to a homesteading lifestyle...), children graduating high school~~going to college~~getting married and starting a family~~etc., starting a new journey of homeschooling our third child, weathering a serious illness with my Dad, then his passing, my Mother ageing and becoming less mobile~~just so many things. My 40's were really brutal.
Now, at 50, I feel like a butterfly coming out of my cocoon. I feel hopeful and am looking forward to good things. To answer your question about feeling ignored~~yes, I have felt that way many times. I'm happily married to a man who claims that I'm beautiful (I am not.), but I've noticed NOT being noticed as I go about in society. The good thing is that now I know my worth~~and it's not wrapped up in a pretty face. My Grandma used to say, "Pretty is as pretty does." Very true!
I'm loving your channel and would love book rec's! God bless you.

This was one of the best videos that I have watched here on you tube. You touched base with everything as a mature woman should look at and make changes if needed. To grow older with grace to fill worthy of what life has to offer. I love the book of Ruth. By reading it we see how things change, but stay the same for us. Her walk in life we should take and learn from. Who know it may open our eyes to all possibilities for us on our journey the paths we take to be bold and brave independent of all fears that we are able to do what our heart is leaning us to. . To have the right mindset. I feel that women can be feminine but strong. To be yourself with anything that we face to stay true to ourselves is important to be as it should be for all that want more out of life. Thank you Sandra for sharing Hugs and Love Shirley

Shirley, I really appreciate your comment about this video. This was one I genuinely felt was important to cover as Ruth’s story is relevant to us even today. Our possibilities are never ending if we have faith in our strengths as women who believe in achieving the best that life can give. ❤️. Sandra

This is your purpose . You are a gift to every women . You certainly are a gift to me. I had a horrible day yesterday and I am going to have to make some big life changes. I decided that I was not going to become bitter by how I was treated. Forgive and move on ,but I feel wounded . I said to myself what have I learned from this situation and how can I become a stronger better woman. This video helped me to sort out my feelings and how I might proceed. Thanks so much Sandra . I know I was meant to watch this, especially today. Blessings! to you and your family.

Cheryl, I am sorry you had a bad day yesterday. No one has to be nor deserves to be treated with anything but respect. I don’t know your situation, but the faster you change course for your own well being the better off you will be. Sometimes life decisions that are important to our happiness and mental wellness are very difficult. I know you will find the strength to do whatever it takes to move toward respect and happiness. ❤️. Sandra

I know I'm late to the party, since this video came out last March. But I just wanted to say how valuable this video is for me right now. You're an amazing mentor. I'm 69 and have recently had to reevaluate a friendship that was rather one sided and clearly unfair to me. So I've had to let go of someone who was a big part of my life. Thank you for your wonderful advice and encouragement. I am indeed having to me my own best friend at this time but you've helped a great deal. Many thanks for being you!

The story of Ruth and the lessons are still relevant to us women today. Loving yourself and knowing you deserve the best in life is an important step in moving forward. Realizing you deserve to be loved and respected for who you are is important always. Be your own best friend is the first step! ❤️. Sandra

Life Over Sixty With Sandra oh yes! Both my grandmothers were named Ruth, both after the biblical Ruth, and so if course it is my middle name. Naturally the title of your video caught my eye. You represented the story quite well. Again many thanks.

Beautiful Sandra, oh wow! how I learn and Enjoy your videos. You are so right when you say we grow and change from loss. When i was going through losing my mom to cancer the sun didn't shine nothing else mattered to me. I thought I would never smile the same again or be happy but, with my faith and Gods grace I pulled through and, it made me a much better person! You are right, I was stronger than I thought. Thank you Sandra! I truly love and admire you! Please dont stop making videos.❤

Hi , Sandra, Thankyou very much for taking the time to create this encouraging video. It has truly blessed me. I too was married to a bipolar narcissist first husband. He left me several times and returned as many. We have a beautiful son, whom I wanted to know his father. He was a devoted caring father. But I was supporting us together with his “ bandmates” as he was an inspiring musician. He left us for California after six years. Then I met and married the man who I was born for. A handsome brilliant Attorney. We had so much fun together. He was nine years younger than me.Then after close to thirty years of marriage he became ill and passed away the next day. He was everything to me. I was happy for him to be in the bosom of Abraham, but devastated. Then I began to remember all that I struggled with and overcame while raising my son by myself. So as you said we woman do possess a deep power God given, that good men see or sense and are drawn to. P.S. Your husband adores you and you two are so precious together! Love ❤️

I have admired the Ukrainian people from the day Russia first invaded. I got to witness such bravery, such kind people and neighbor helping neighbor. And so much more. I love the Ukrainian people Bless you ALL!! 🇺🇦💙💛🌠Your people and leader are beautiful shooting stars! The USA could learn a lot from the Ukrainian peoples and government. I love you all and I'm so sorry that big bad Russia invaded your beautiful country. They're bullies! The USA could learn so much for all of you! 50%of Americans are despicable and an embarrassment. Many people here feel this way!! 🙏🕯️Oh and the way you take care of your pets! You are the best!!!
