    In today's video we go through how to upgrade your Creality CR-6 to the Community Firmware. In combination with our all metal hotend, this will allow us to print with higher temp materials. Even if you have a stock CR-6 SE/SE Max this upgrade is one that will completely upgrade the features and experience of using this printer.

    Nice work. The Micro Swiss hot-end is here and I am currently printing out the 40mm hot-end cooling shroud adapter to help with the upgrade. The community firmware is still by far the best upgrade for the CR-6 SE by far and we cannot thank Sebastiaan and his team enough for this.

    I JUST got my new MicroSwis extruder replaced on my CR6-SE. The first test print was pretty decent. I still have a bit of tuning to do to get er fine tuned enough that I can resume 3D printed RC projects. So far I'm LOVING the upgrades. THANKS for the FW that allowed us to increase print temps, & for the videos on this machine!
    I think the new extruder will serve me well, especially since it's coupled with the upgraded hot end!

    Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!!!
    I have been trying to update the firmware on CR6 SE for 4 days and almost gave up the printer for dead! I watched and followed several other videos and could not figure out what I was doing wrong!
    You were the only one who just happened to mention the need to copy the 3 kernel files into the set folder if I’ve never run the community firmware update before!
    The other videos were great but in my opinion your video was the most thorough for us newbies!

    Hello, i am really happy about this guide and about your "tweak" of the firmware for the cr-6 se! I have tried doing the temperature "tweak" for my cr-6 MAX as well, without any luck.. Is there anny posibility to use your version of the firmware on the MAX?

    Everything worked great for me with the exception of the initial motherboard flash. I had to use a different formatted card than the one that worked for the screen. Be patient and keep at it and it'll work out for you.

    Thanks heaps, I kinda miss-flashed mine about 6 months ago, but other than losing all languages except Chinese, which since it still used regular digits, and I knew the menus backwards, I kinda just kept using it from memory. Anyway, with such a complete guide, I figured it was time to remedy that, and wow, the auto bed leveling is so much better, no more messing around with offsets! Liked and subscribed mate.

    Hey guys for anybody having the "firmware flashing incorrect" error ITS THE SD CARD that connects to the motherboard not the screen one. Trust me i was frustrated for hours. all i had todo is change the sd card with the firmware and it worked immediately. Its crazy. So happy it works now. Credit goes to the commenter who suggested it originally. I just wanted to enforce that it definitely is the problem.

    Any chance you could throw a max-temp version for the BTT CR-6 board on your drive? I had one of the original (likely to catch fire) boards and recently replaced it with the BTT board (has UART control and the ability to not run the annoying mobo fan all the time).

    Great video, easy to follow and very thorough. I also upgraded to the Micro Swiss hot end and decided I'd update to the latest community firmware. Successfully flashed my Creality TFT screen, then the motherboard with your increased temp build. On power up, I get an audible tone and a message on the screen saying "build 60 found but expected 61". I flashed the the screen again with the CR-6-touchscreen-2021-03-27 DWIN_SET folder, but still have the same error. Any ideas or anybody else reported this issue? Tried Google but no love. Where do I find 61?

    Everything went well. Autoleveling OK. But very soon after starting a print, I will get a message that the print is succesfully completed. On every print, no matter what slicer I use. I used a Creality v1 mainboard and now a Creality v4.5.3 32 bit mainboard. Different board, same result: 100% after a few seconds.

Not sure why creality went from v4.5.3 to v1.1.03, version wise it doesn’t seem to make any sense?

      I JUST got done upgrading to the Micro Swiss hot end on mine.
      In the past when I've had issues the bowden tube would clog up on me. My fear is that if I clog the metal hot end I might not be able to unclog it. It wouldn't be as simple as pulling the Capricorn tube triming it, slamming in a new nozzle, & going again.

    ive got a question. No one seems to want to provide a proper explanation as to why the nozzle temp is set to 0 when leveling the bed as the z axis goes down. wouldnt you be getting inaccurate measurements of the bed if youre probing all 16 points at varying different temperatures? so one point can probe at 149 then the next gets probed at 140 and so on.

    Is there an increased temp firmware for the 6SE MAX?

  • @gad399
    @gad399 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Hello how are you? I have a CR-6SE, I was printing for more than a year without problems, until it stopped extruding, it starts printing the first layers of the piece, but after a few minutes it stops extruding material, but if you push it by hand, it flows usually. change the
    all hardware components Hotend, barrel, heatsink, teflon capricorn, and place a metal extruder. It had started fine, but every two prints, one goes wrong and gets stuck again.
    I have two CR-6SE for now, one has been working without problems.
    I already took it to a service, and they returned it to me the same.
    I would be very grateful, if you manage to detect the error and share it with me. Greetings.

  • @Zorewin
    @Zorewin 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    So i installed the community firmware on my CR 6 and i started experimenting with multicolor prints so i added a pauze in Cura slicer and that worked perfect. The machine pauzed and i could change the filament to the right color.. However i could not find a way to resume the print.. I think i tapped on everything i could find but could not for the life of me get it to resume. So i decided to cut the power and then after powering it back on i got resume but then it started printing way to high in the air.
    So my questions are:
    How can i using the community firmware when i sliced in a pauze with cura resume printing?
    Why did it start printing in the air when i powered it back on?
    If anyone can help me gain any insight with these problems its much appriciated!

    • @AiMR
      @AiMR 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think if you pause in the gcode then you'll need to resume in it as well? Perhaps you can insert a delay to give you time to change the filament.

    Anyone coming here with an unresponsive display (the progress indicator goes all the way then just get a beep). Use the same micro SD card you used for the display. Then you know the card is good if the display had updated. Also make sure to do a full format. Do not just do a quick format if doing the format from a gui.
