John, Great video the graphics and voice over were top notch. I'm almost sorry I gave mine away - the MicroSwiss looks like a great replacement to the stock hot end, and it still allows the strain gauge sensor to function

Great vid. Wish I'd done this rather than going for the biqu h2 extruder titanium alloy conversion. Quite a bit more involved. Thanks.
The micro swiss stuff looks really nice. How come not using Capricorn tube seems much smoother on my printer compared to the standard tube. Even notice the extra smoothness when loading and unloading filament!

Thanks for posting this. Do you know if the silicone sock from the original hotend still fits after the upgrade? Tbh I'm not a fan of that blue one.
Installed this and also replaced the stock extruder with Creality’s all-metal kit. My cube printed perfectly, as did a socket set holder and a lid. However, when attempting to print the base of the socket holder, I got up about 1cm and no more filament feed. I don’t think this was due to the upgrades, just a combination of excessive heat and humidity. 90 degree ambient temp and about 70% humid doesn’t help things.
Could you share your slicer settings with the Priline CF PC filament you used on this print?
Did you try ABS? I’ ve seen a review that said it’s hard to get a good first layer adesion to the base on either sides of the plate
I've just installed mine and it's caused me some hassle,Get some ok prints and then some shocking ones.
I could print in two colour Pla with standard nozzle and Cura
I upgraded to Microswiss and Simplify3d slicer..Retracted as required,Not tried any PETG yet

What slicer settings did you use? I always have a lot of stringing and ugly top surfaces
I see this vid is a couple of years old. I have not used my CR6-SE for a few years. I tried removing a clogged print head and part of the thread of the print head broke off and are stuck in the threads of the hot end. At first, I couldn't tell, but when I looked at the print head, it looked chipped on part of the threads. I looked in the hotend and, sure enough, there is a sliver of the print head stuck in the threads. I'm trying to see if I can push it out in circular movement with a dental instrument. If I can't get it out, I might buy one of these hot ends to replace it.
I did not See you re-install the strain gage,, do you now not have auto leveling, i'm assuming not because you would have done that right after putting things back together...???
I am glad they got rid of the Bowden Collet, mine developed some wear very quickly and I replaced it only for it to do the same, the wear enabled movement of the Bowden tube when retracting so I machined a fitting to convert it to a compression fitting the same size as the pneumatic Bowden fittings which is much better as you don't have those spikes gripping the PTFE tube
I did everything exactly like you did but I keep getting clogs. I upgraded to a Capricorn Bowden tube and an upgraded hardened nozzle. Still getting the hot and clogged. Any idea what I can do?
August 5, 2022, Very Excellent post of how to install a all metal hotend. I too have a CR6-SE for the last two years that's been my go to printer. I'm going to order today this hotend. I truly wish there was equally an easy way to modify this printer to have increase in printing temperatures to at least 325 degrees. Would love to know it that's a possibility. Again, very good post

Tripods Garage Great video! Hello I have the CR6SE as well and upgraded to the Micro Swiss all metal hotend it was easy but know I am having a problem with the ABL the strain gauge isn't working correctly did you have that problem afterwards?
Greetings, so far I haven’t had any issues with MicroSwiss hotend on the CR6SE. Do you see indicator light go off when leveling?
@@TripodsGarageyes it does but its trying to dig a hole in the bed I believe I Found out the problem it was carriage was loose so I am going to tighten the V wheel after work tonight! Thank you for the Video!
@@Spencer1609751 hey Spencer, did you solve that issue? After replacing my hotend my nozzle goes into the bed while trying to calibrate it as it happened to you

This looks really good. How was your experience with the printer so far? Did you have many issues or all is fixed now?
I was totally excited after this upgrade. Went to do a TH-cam short. Then the heated bed 24v to ground fried the main board, display, Raspberry Pi, and my usb webcam attached to the Pi. There is a newer version, from what I have been told all those issues I had just experienced have been resolved.

Hi, I've watched your video "Creality CR6-SE Review - Pass or Fail", it was nearly 1 year ago.
I'm interested in this printer, because I don't have the time to buy a Ender 3 V2 and to mount it, mount the BLtouch, install the new firmware etc...
Do you recommand the CR6-SE for my usage ? I want a stable 3D printer, no time to tinker like with my old ender 3.

Great video! You earned a new subscriber. Not sure why SBS Tutorials @sbstutorials6450 did not like it. Since you keep the stock heater will it reach the temperatures needed for some of the more exotic materials? At 11:22 I see you get it up to 255°C. And with the bed maxing at 100°C will that be a problem with the more exotic materials? @Fragnatix at 3:35 the nozzle was changed to a hardened steel nozzle. By the way, not only are your videos enjoyable to watch with the special attention to the graphics but you take time to think about what you are going to say and have a very pleasing voice when saying it. Thank you for your time and attention to detail.
Many thanks! Unsure why SBS disliked it, cannot please everyone, people are very picky what they like. Unfortunately the firmware limits how hot the nozzle and bed can get. So it will still limit you with printing very high temp materials.

How are your bottoms so smooth that's the original build surface ?
Maybe it is the glue stick. I noticed that when I use a glue stick for certain filaments the first layer looks a lot smoother.
My Thermistor is stock in the original hot end. I tried pushing it out with an allen wrench but it still won’t come out. Any suggestions?
Sorry to hear this. I had one stick on another hot end. I would suggest ordering a replacement thermistor. They are really cheap off of Amazon.
Your interface looks way different than mine. Is that a firmware upgrade?

is there any another good all-metal hotend for the cr-6 se except the micro swiss?
because.. despite the name, it has nothing to do with swiss and is based in US..
shipping to Germany costs about 20€ and the price jumps up a lot..
and..isn't the idea of all-metall hotend not to have any non-metal part? what is then about the PTFE tube going inside? won't it melt?
and secondly.. is there a way to print hinger than 280°C? with different heater I guess?

So what happens when you need to change the tube out? Guess you need to take a wrench to it?
To remove the tube, you will need to take a wrench to it. There is absolutely no play, it is very secure. I wonder if will start seeing this on future printers.
@@TripodsGarage Do you / will you need to replace the compression fitting when you change the tube out?
Going of my experiences with using a compression sleeve on a refrigerator water line. The sleeve compresses over the line, and if compression is really tight you cannot remove it. If that is the case you will need to replace the PTFE tube and the compression sleeve. If the fitting is just snug, there could be a chance of reusing the sleeve and the PTFE tube. Hope that answers your question.

@@LaszloBagi - Looks to me that it could be a standard size compression sleeve that you can find in a plumbing isle at your local hardware store. I will bring the extra one the provide in the kit next time I am out and about. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hey there. I have a quick question for you. I converted to the all metal hot end microswiss as well for mine. I haven’t tried the high temp filaments yet. But I have been having a lot of clogging/under extrusion problems with silk PLA’s. I’ve tried rebuilding the hot end a few times in case of gaps, I’ve calibrated esteps and retractions. I have increased temps on suggestions from others. Did you have any trouble with this? I’m only a year into 3D printing but I’m pulling my hair out trying to figure out fixes.

Did you change the firmware or its still stock?
And the nozzle that come with the kit is Brass, shouldn't you change it to something stronger too?

Mention that the new he is TITANIUM.
SOME METALS CANNOT PRINT CARBON, brass for instance will just get eaten away at the nozzle.

@@TripodsGarage one of the best videos out there explaining the engineering behind this product.....hes just jelly......did you happen to notice any friction or resistance where the ptfe and the heat break meet....im using capricorn xs tubing and if the tube doesnt meet just right I've noticed it can cause clogging and retraction issues.
