You made my day 😂 waiting for your call guys 🙂 Thanks for everything, learned everything I needed on your platform and in the course💪 love this community 🙌
The last film by Ryan Mickey should've been AT LEAST in the top 3..! It definitely was more somber, but from a filmmaking standpoint, it was really really good.
EXACTLY WHAT I WAS THINKING! AND THE FACT THAT MOST OF THEM IGNORED HOW HE ALSO TRANSITION THE AUDIOS IN SUCH A COOL WAY KEEPING THE FIRST ONE SOUNDING A BIT DISTORTED AND SLOWER WAS PRETTY GOOD!
@thathomasdude it’s a film and it will give you an emotion .. it doesn’t have to be a happy movie all the time .. it was a beautiful short film and surely deserved to be at top 3
@@Iwanagj Exactly, I think the fact that he managed to convey the message and the emotion that the viewer was supposed to be feeling, adds big big points to it. I think it deserved more love than it did..
I think Ryan Mickey was the winner, his work had a perfect balance between aesthetics, technique and history. A very well composed light, very cinematic color grading and also that twist in the story that makes you feel many emotions in just a few seconds, I think that makes it a great proposal. On the other hand, I think the winner did very well also from a more commercial point of view.
I still prefer the Coca-Cola because of the execution, sure Ryan's was the most cinematic but I wasn't too attached to the characters mainly because of the direction. The characters were too distant from each other both interactively and literally except for the piano shot, it felt like they were new couples instead of old ones which is why his death didn't trigger that many emotions. It didn't help that the transitions were sudden leaving me a little lost at some point in the first play (though it can't be helped since it's too short), didn't even know how he died. Here is an example from Pixar pulling off characters you can get attached to in a short time and even that required a few more minutes. th-cam.com/video/F2bk_9T482g/w-d-xo.html
mud water and coca-cola and the last were fabulous. Definitely the best. I've actually used Mud Water.....it's real good. Just wish the sky's weren't blownout on the mudwater one. Coca-cola was pretty much flawless....(like unfairly good). Basically......Mud Water was the best in terms of story/humor/advertising. Coca-cola was the best all-around. The last one was the most "cinematic" and moody.
Like yours best, slick shot's cool story, the coke ad is cool too, but i never liked the coke taste, nor is the story great. And why would you drink coke if you can have a coffee instead.... But a bottle that can keep drinks cold or hot for 6 hours, I'd like to have one 😎🤙
The Coke video was the clear winner and nice to see behind the scenes. I would have placed the Jeff Saville video of the American Kiwi white insulated bottle higher as second, as it was very creative in its video concepts about the product!
by creating movement with the camera, you can kinda hide the "flaws" of composition and what not, - but having it on a tripod like the last one is really showing the quality of the filmmaker by the way its framed, it looked so clean
Ryan you did an amazing job! I think especially on a budget when you don't have fancy equipment like the soda commercial, storytelling is the key to the heart. You inspired many of us and amazing cinematography skills.
i watched the winner on tiktok before i watch this video. I was amazed also, BUT how can you NOT give Ryan Mickey the first place? Emotion ✅ Goosebumps ✅ kept me watching wanting even more ✅ what else can a film provide? Unbelievable
A sad emotional film but kind of expected story, however should be in top 3. From clarity, vibes and editing point of view, the coca cola film was amazing.
I'm so honored to have you guys critique our entries! We had a lot of fun creating our video and are very proud to have made it on the list. Can't wait for the next contest!!
Honestly, i loved your ad, I didnt think an ad would make go and play it on repeat like 8 times. Loved how the lyrics and energy perfectly matched the shoveling.
Love to see that the comments are agreeing that Ryan was robbed of at least top 3 here! Loved how he continued to use samples of the faster song in the slow bit and I think he really took a creative approach to this challenge.
This video compilation was awsome that last vid ended very sadly but every vid had a lot of effort put into it. You should definitely do more of these maybe like once every 2-3 months.
Great contenders and great judging! Loved Patrizio's cause I expected it to be that good, but Ryan's was totally unexpected. Beautiful story, cinematography and editing. It was the only one that wasn't an advert. My cup of tea.
1st time watching this, and so far, the coke man took it clear. Just wow... I went to school for cinematography, or whatever, but moving around over the last year or so seen me with zero equipment. Just getting camera, gimbal, Mac, etc back ... Was crazy to see how that ad was put together
I think your judgement on the last edit was skewed by your negative emotion. Like objectively. It made you feel more than any other video and that’s the point of this craft is to invoke an emotional response. The coke ad looked the best no contest but think the down scoring of the last video was not a fair judgement.
Congratulations to the top 10 and top 3, you guys are amazing! I'm excited to have participated and now see the incredible caliber of your work in comparison. Motivated!!!
3:17 ¡Hablaste español! Que emoción , siempre te veo y aunque no puedo hablar inglés y no tengo el equipo siempre te veo y aprendo mucho de tus vídeos ... Algún día podré participar. ¡Que Dios te bendiga!
I have 0 experience in any of this, plus I’m new to this channel but an idea hit me and I’d like to share it. I’m just imagining a character in a short story, who’s actually a music producer, and is trying to do the very challenge of this challenge of merging the two songs. Through trial and error we could see how he’s dealing with it, and at some point he’s at the brink of giving up. But then he sees something that motivated him and he tries it again. In the end, he managed to merge the songs together into this great one and we see clips of the good times/bad times he had, with his completed song in the background. Don’t judge me wether this is good or not, it just came out of nowhere.
Rating by me being a normal consumer 1. jeff 2. patrizo (2nd song didn't matched up with the vibe for me) 3. ryan 4. raful 5. karol 6. josue 7. marcus 8. wolj 5 and below it were just suddenly changing the song, I couldn't feel any emotional transition
The last entry was amazing I could understand afterwards that’s the person passed away so she was just remembering I would of liked to see more of her in the cemetery visiting him or even a few shots of the tomb stone or how he passed would of been an amazing touch to tell more of the story.
Well deserved Patrizio! That was an insane ad 🤯 Also Rafal, that actors yell at the end of the MudWtr commercial makes me laugh so hard every time hahaha
I give it a STRONG 6.5 for this video. The hook was good but it didnt deliver on the product or I didnt get it till the end that it was a professional videographer that was looked for. Last video by Mickey is the whole 9 yrds imo. Could be used in some fight the cancer campain or so.. It gave ne wet eyes and a egsistential questionmark over my head. Well done Mickey!
The real winners of this video are the judges!!! It was so amazing and fulfilling to be with you guys while you gave your impressions. One video that I have enjoyed the most in all your videos. The only sore point was the 6 that came for the last brilliant one from Ryan. So thats a strong 9.5 for the judges!!! 😄
So glad to see so many people disagree with the final video scoring. The fact that they all felt the emotion was the entire point. Just because you don’t like the emotion doesn’t mean it should get a lower score. At least that should’ve 2nd, maybe a tied 1st place? 😅
how come many big brands nowadays don't make such good and entertaining ads like the bottle guy? I would absolutely watch it and not skip if this came before a youtube video😂👌
The Coca-Cola one is of course good but that is something we see with every coke brand or product brand. The techniques also is very popular, in my opinion. Anyway, loved the music band and bottle ad.
I really liked the proposals, some more than others, but it seems to me that the level of production of each of the projects should also be taken into account. The winner is already a professional, I don't think he lacks those two thousand dollars, I'm not saying he doesn't deserve it, his video was incredible, but there were other slightly more amateur proposals like Rafal Cwiok's who had a great montage of scenes, I think it was a good performance, the music went very well with the cuts and it was also a good approach to the story that I really liked comparing the level of production between one and the other, maybe he could have been the winner. Anyway my favorite was Ryan Mickey
15:50 Am I the only one to have noticed a smile on the bottle of coca cola? Was Patricio so inspired to have actually hidden a easter egg on this video? Lol
the 3rd video has so many potential. if he actual did like fast paced angles of building the tent, opening the can, then dancing while doing all that. zoom in into the meal while stirring it on the pot. just so many things you can do since the transition was so good. would've been a 9-10 points if he was a bit more creative with his shot selections.
