    I feel like Alyssa's video could pass for a TV commercial while Jake's video is perfect for social media which is exactly what the client want. Either ways, in the end Quality is subjective!

    Alyssa, the Beginner, here... and Wow! I am absolutely blown away by all the positive feedback. I just want to thank Parker, Jake and the team for allowing me this growing opportunity to participate in this Beginner vs. Pro shoot. Walking in, I was nervous and had no idea what to expect. Walking out, I was so nervous about the feedback I would receive. Thank you to each and every person who has commented feedback, critiques, and compliments. I'll forever be humbled and grateful that I was able to do this challenge.

    Both were good. My problem with Jake's is I've seen a lot of cheap/scam products that use that format (especially that opening AI voice). So although the production and everything was good, I felt skeptical about the validity of the product. Alyssa's had me more convinced this was a genuine quality product. Honestly both were good for respective platforms. Jake's for tiktok/TH-cam shorts/Instagram, Alyssa's for TH-cam and the like.

If that could have been in the ad, with something like a cut saying... Alyssa's video is undeniably good. She has a good understanding of the concepts, and little details like the slow motion water shot show this - this is something that needs to be planned at the time of filming because you need to adjust the shutter speed accordingly. I also think that from the perspective of editing and getting straight to the point and selling the product, Parker's video achieves this better. A great demonstration that both knowledge and experience are important.

  • @TacticalCactusMedia
    @TacticalCactusMedia ปีที่แล้ว +87

    2000 IQ play by the client, who used the competitive nature of the video's structure to pit these two into creating entirely different styles of video, specifically so he could use both of them for his various mediums. Two videos instead of one? That's what we call big brain!

    Almost wish you both created a more similar style ad and both shot in the same format, because at the moment it felt like Alyssa’s video was higher in production value, just due to the nature that you chose to shoot your ad, which felt like a value added cutdown for social. Personally I would’ve liked if the styles were both in the same ballpark, shot in landscape, just so it’s an actual comparable scenario. I would’ve also liked to see if the client went in blind, not knowing who shot which video, select the one he would use.

    I can’t stand the generic robot voice that EVERYONE uses. So not authentic.
    The next eject moment for me was the second he repeated a shot.

    As a advertising student I have to say that, I'm amazed. Both of the ads are amazing, you have made greate ads, both of you. For me Alyssa's add is amazing, but Jake made what the client wanted and that is the point. Alyssa didn't make and add that the client wanted which was a social media add. Her first step should be "recognising" what the devices are mainly used for those, and the answer to that are cell phones. So your work "surface" is a lot smaller becose it isn't a horizontal screen, but a vertical mainly, her add would be good for TV or TH-cam, if you would cropp it to fit for lets say TikTok you would loose a lot of footage.

    Really enjoyed this episode. I liked how you got clients opinion instead of yourself and Parker’s. Do more of these, it helps a lot.

    Very interesting to watch as usual!. Jake's video is very self-explanatory and cool for sure, BUT next time how about if you guys try not to tell the final judge who the PRO is and who the BEGINNER is (from the beginning). Because sometimes, PRO word itself may change the perception of the person about the final work.

    I think that her video is more like an ad on TH-cam, before your video plays or an dedicated ad in your stories between stories. His video is more like a random video posted on TikTok, which is basically an ad, but not posted as an ad so you have it in feed. So booth would be great for socials, but different approaches and settings

    Nahhhhhh man Alyssa killed it great job. They both have their use, and platforms they could go on. But the fact that Alyssa picked a camera a year ago for the first time, I'm proud of her.

    Jake's video looks like the type of video they use for scams XD.
    It just needed the "invented in the military "

      Yeah, I don’t see that as an “hip ad” I see it as a scam product that’s not worth a second more of my time, especially with that terrible voice over voice.
