“$25” was the best. It actually look like an authentic pizza advertisement rather than doing too much in which it takes away the pizza aspect of the advertisement. Sometime simple is the best and better.

25$ was great but 35$ guy imo was my top time favorite. Just the great music and it makes you feel hungry while watching with a "classy pizza with time and craft" feel kinda put into it i really like for upper middle pizza.

@@bastion5686 You do realize he had to remove the original music the editor actually put there, for copyright reasons.
Professional editor and director here. I would say that all of this depends so much on the direction given to the editor. Most of the times the direction is incorporated into how the piece is going to be edited, so it's unusal to see first edits based on just the material and music alone without any direction. I like these kinds of experiments because it's a look into the creative process of the first edit, the actual one editors can do on their own before directors, producers and clients have their say. I think most of these were well done, but I don't think the price difference is really a justified comparison. Price can also be about how experienced the editor is working with directors and producers. There are many people really creative who never worked in a collaborative manner and that's where the price usually shows itself. The ability to consistently input creative quality for each and every iteration of feedback from others. So even though some high paid editors might be considered less good in these edits, they might be well worth it in a collaborative space. Since there's so much else going on in commercial editing, with target audiences, visions, company identity markers etc. it's very hard to actually know the direction just based of music and material.
So I would say, all of these creative editors did a fine job. It's hard to value between them due to the factors above. But it's interesting to see how things like this plays out. It's just important to remember that editing is collaborative and that follow-up feedback run-throughs are just as much a part of the process as these first edit results.

Total honesty, I love these videos. I am an amateur video editor & at first I get intimidated by the views you get & footage quality. But then watching the video I see how different all the edits can be & it is uplifting.

No the $500 guy is just did a bad edit, and it seems he has only basic editing skills, the key point of the $500 guys one was "Its in reverse", which doesn't even make sense
Although the 500$ guy is expensive - I like his style. He didn't just focus on editing but went ahead by incorporating a story so his style is so different and unique. Even without the voice over, as a viewer you would know the message he wants to give and showed it.

The first one you could hear a crackling fire at the oven, that is the one thing that sold me. First video was the best. That was an excellent touch.

I both agree and disagree. I loved the crackling, but it was too "in your face" where as the shot wasn't. It needed to be quieter and less clear IMO

This was actually really intriguing video idea. I have always edited things for a very specific niche, but seeing how all there people made this footage work was amazing. That fact that he would pay $500 for that top one really forces me to take a second look at “silly YT stuff”

I think that’s why the $500 is getting a lot of hate, and a lot of love. After seeing some fantastic ads for $100 or less, theres no possible way the $500 one could differentiate enough to show $400+ worth of difference, it’s just not possible. I also think he loved the $500 so much partially because he felt he had to.

I understand everyone is setting their own price, but for 25$, that is seriously some amazing editing and I would be absolutely thrilled if I only paid 25 bucks to have my commercial like that. Some of the others were very good, but for the price, it's just amazing. 25$ hands down is the best one over all.

I don’t know if these people really don’t have a refined experience with pizza or what, but the most appetising appearance of the pizza is when it is in the oven; not when sad and flat looking ingredients are being scooped from metal Subway containers. Cheese melting and forming bubbles, the fire cracking, the ingredients changing colour from the heat... that’s what makes someone’s mouth water. Pizza in Italy is a refined experience every single time, and that’s what every pizza commercial should be aiming.
That audio is from a fireplace tho..it sounded slightly off to my ears. Idk if anybody else agrees.

The 25$ Commercial made the pizza look really fresh and appetizing.
I thought it might just be because it was the first one that I watched so I had to rewatch it again afterwards but I got to say that from a consumer perspective, the 25$ commercial looked the most appealing to me.

@@Montoya2005 yeah you might be right. I was having this conversation with my friends the other day of what the difference in biases are. Though I still question if the assessment on quality is intentional or not; that we assign quality based on price knowingly or not - I'm still on the fence.

Experience goes a long way which in his case hes delivering more than hes paid for and getting better reviews for it he'll be the one not available for less than 500 in coming years
how do you know the $25 one wasn't some 14 year old kid's side hustle? or someone in the global south where $25usd is a LOT of money for 0.5-2 hours of simple yet mentally engaging desk work. just because YOU find good value in something doesn't mean it's produced by "that poor guy who doesn't know his value".

The $500 one basically said we know our pizzas forwards and backwards, we can make them slow with care or fast and quick but in the end you get this quality finished product. It had the brand at start and finish. That was so good.
TH-cam should hire this guy, he just brainwashed us into watching a same ad 12 times and that also with interest...😂

It’s still bad. Cheese coming OFF a pizza just didn‘t look appetizing. I would’ve glossed over it if I saw it on tv. Granted, I don‘t like how the b-roll was filmed in the first place, so that added on to the dislike. But the whole reverse thing with the ingredients just does not work well with cooking. People are trying to see the finished dish, not the dish being unmade, made, halfway completed, still being made, then random cheesy pizza at the end.

@@shadypalmtree2989 IMO, this is the costs more = better product fallacy at work. It was a strong, creative choice by the editor to use the reverse gimmick but it was ultimately one of the worst out of the bunch for the reasons you mentioned. It would have been better to blind taste test this rather than giving out the prices he paid for each before you saw them.
The reverse video is very common, I saw it used tens of times. Very well edited, but not really innovative... and kinda weird in some parts.

The 500 dollar one was overproduced. As a customer, if I had to watch that more than once I would groan and mute it. More effects does not equal better video.
