How many days a week should I use Vit C for it to be effective? My notes say not to put on Vit C and salicylic acids even at the same day. I want to exfoliate 2-3 times a week.

When I started using a wedge pillow to sleep at an incline for my acid reflux I noticed my eyes were less puffy in the morning (and my allergy symptoms improved as well).

not a derm, but think if your skin likes it and there is no irritation, why not?
I am having issues with vit C as it gives me irritation on my cheeks even with 10%
While never had irritation from retinol and use it around my eyes as well.

@danielsugaimd hello Dr, are you familiar with predire products? If so would you recommend? I was gifted a multivitamin AC&E products by them but not too familiar with the company.
So I guess I have been doing it backwards. I do hyaluronic acid serum, vitamin c, then that L’Oréal serum eye cream. Only bc that is downstairs in my refrigerator. So it should be vitamin c first, Then hyaluronic acid? But then when are suppose to do the eye serum before or after those other products?
Is CosRX snail mucin essence considered a hyaluronic acid serum? I’ve heard a lot of people say the essence has a lot of hyaluronic acid in it, but I’m not sure where that info is coming from
I never heard it has HA, but I like using it under my moisturizer. Also apply it on the back of my hands before hand cream.

And not just moisturizer with sunscreen. You would have to apply a lot of moisturizer to get the recommended amount of sunscreen……..
How do you feel about using retinol and tret such as Kiehls microdose retinol switching off every other day. Any benefit to using it that way?
Love that strategy esp in the winter when our skin is less likely to tolerate potent retinoids like tretinoin 👍

My grandmother was a classy ageless woman who told me one of her biggest secrets was that she used CRISCO to moisturize her face and decollete her whole life. Crisco,tho?! Solidified cooking oil?! Kinda like margarine or butter...but, not. Idk. She passed in her late 70s looking not one day over 50. HOW??? I'd love to hear a dermatologists thoughts on this please, if you have time? As her granddaughter, I did as she instructed and made sure to never skip a day of moisturizing. Except, I actually use face Creams, lotions, things like that. I'm 41 now and people mistake Me for a woman in my 20s all the time! Again, my ONLY consistent practice is moisturizing. Thoughts please?
Edit: Well, I didn't realize this would come across like a joke. Now people are commenting random condiments people wear. Ok, my Grandma lived through the Depression. Before the Depression hit, it was popular to use a silky face cream at night to remove your makeup. Then, you moisturize with the cream after makeup is fully removed. Once the Depression hit, there was no money for frivolity. Things like face cream became a luxury. So, many resilient women improvised! My grandmother said that once her "real" cream was gone, she filled up the Little Tub with Crisco. She said it looked and felt similar to her, so why not? The thing is...even AFTER the Depression had long passes, she continued this practice because you just can NOT argue with results, right? Hope this clarifies.❤

I’ve been oily my whole life and often get confused as a decade or two younger. So I guess women who either moisturize a lot or just have their skin produce extra “grease” tend to age less fast?

May need to use a moisturizer as well or switch out products. Sometimes if you have an underlying condition like eczema or Seborrheic dermatitis, that needs to be address first

I use the L’Oréal HA , not sticky, but expensive .i wait till it goes on sale, but it’s great. Yet to find one that resembles ….
The L’Oréal HA eye I love huge but again way to expensive, I love the cold beads in the applicato.
So, I bought the ordinary HA eye, not sticky , I throw a spoon in the fridge , use the spoon then the HA( for 40.00 savings I’ll do the extra step)

is there anything you can recommend for dark circles under the eyes? i’ve had them forever (literally since i’ve been a teen tbh..) and it’s definitely not fixable with sleep. i think it might also be due to an iron deficiency but i still need to get that checked. i’ve been using an eye serum and a cream and i think it’s gotten slightly better but obviously not enough at all 🥲
