      Yepppp, I got a black sleeve and the first artist I went to made my arm drip with blood more than I've ever seen anywhere, and I have scars of the pattern I had them do before covering the rest straight black. Picking your artist is just as important with blackout as it is with a normal piece

    The 3rd image was me, Remy. I appreciate your help back then. I have since moved on to a different artist that has fixed all of the busted attempts. We are using a 45 now, and it looks excellent. The original artist did not know what he was doing, but we both went into it together knowing it would be a learning process. After quite a few failed sessions, I decided it just wasn't going to work and moved on to a new artist that knows what she is doing.
    everything you guys said here is spot on, and I appreciate it very much! Thanks again for the help. I'll send you an update on insta asap.

    Apparently I lucked out hard, I approached a fella to see if he was interested in doing a blackout sleeve for me, he had never done it but figured he could. We did the whole thing with 7& 11 needles. Took 6 sessions to lay down the black and even it out. And another 8 to do the white line work over top. Its been over 2 years in the making. I am obviously biased but I have the best blackout sleeve in the country(can).Watching this video made me realize how lucky I am hahaha I just assumed it was something any artist could do, and my artist apparently thought the same lol 😂

    So real quick i got my first ever blackout started on my arm 4 days ago from my fingers to a little over my elbow and this thing is pretty swollen still my hand is so puffy is this normal? Also i have been having a lot of trouble finding out how to sleep with out my arm touching anything. Any advice?

    • @EphemeralRemy
      @EphemeralRemy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sleep with your arm elevated on a pillow if the swelling is very bad, and I always wore a clean light hoody over my healing Blackwork as a layer of protection. As far as swelling is concerned it’s typical to be swollen for any days after a blackout session, only be concerned if there is puss or thick scabbing occurs

    Technique,Mechanics,muscle memory play alot in being able to have proper saturation.... sometimes different needle groupings work for one dosent work for another..even the same person depending on the areas might need to change grouping and or machines..my solid black work game is on point. if you cant saturate a palm size piece properly with out chewing someone up or falling in one go.. either practice more or hang it up..solid saturation is deceptively hard too do..

      Red allergy is the worst, mine still flares up and it's been 15 years, thankfully it's only small flower petals, I regret getting any colour at all, and my half sleeve (wrist to elbow) is in the process of being blacked out to cover the colour.

    I bet color artists would do better at this than black and gray artists. I've only ever had one tattoo artist who applied color correctly, and you can tell even when it's happening.

    Funny people think black is easy like you say, however I paint cars and do other correction work on automotive paint and guess which color is the hardest to get perfect or “as close to perfect as possible “…… Black paint , if it’s not prepared, sprayed or buffed correctly your
    F*cked and I don’t mean proper F*cked. I mean starting over and losing lots of time and material. Even different different levels of gloss make certain blacks difficult, like a flat or Hot rod black Can Not be corrected it will always show. You have to scuff and reshoot, so if a piece of dirt or a bug gets in the finish before it cures any corrections will most definitely show up. Stands to reason that large sections of black ink can suffer the same fate

    Why does nobody do these in different colors?

    • @EphemeralRemy
      @EphemeralRemy  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Some do actually, but the reason is simple, blackout generally is done as a coverup/ second suit, and black covers everything, other colors don’t cover as well
