    I've had the first half of my arm blacked out yesterday, sat for 3 half hours and had to stop early as my arm really started to swell up, but this morning the swelling as gone down and for the first pass my tattooist has done a great job, booked in to have the second half of my arm in a few weeks, we did plan to do the more but my to be honest being blacked out is brutal but I love the look, I had to black out has I had some badly done tribal work and bad cover ups of bad tattoos, but I have found an amazing tattooist now so I plans for quite a bit of work over the next few years with him

    Small time blackout/blackwork artist, here in NY.
    I think it's wild, heavy blackwork has been around since I can remember in 2004 back in the BMEzine days, only for the freaks with facefulls of piercings and chopping off fingertips - now Kat Von D gets sleeved out by Hoode and everybody's getting black arms.
    Love the content, man. Keep it up. 🖤

      To be fair she was very late to that party, blackout was a known option for many years before she did it, hell I had a pretty well full body blackout long before that

    • @adriananightmare.
      @adriananightmare. ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Right. It's been an underground scene for decades, and a stigmatized one at that - one megastar gets it done and now the world has been opened.
      I'm not coining it as negative - just stating how we got here. A lot of us OG freaks are pumped its being normalized, but the scars of being outcasts still remain. We've got thoughts and feelings about it.
      Live and let live! Get blackout tattoos! Hell, hit me up for them! I'm happy to contribute to the evolution. (:

    • @EphemeralRemy

      True enough, but it’s a lot better objectively if you support it with darker black, and there’s no good reason not to either

    I just had a new guy re do a few tattoos , and one of my arms is all sold tattoos, no shadows and the other arm is all line work, anyway, the new guy did so good on the sold black tattoos.... I'm going to assume he can really do good on my black outs for me .Hes all up for it. I'm going for red and black ,not all black out, ..... In Old school days I was allergic to red ink and have a really messed up leg, so i think that is why im so ready for amazing red out work

      Anything can be art, and if you’re specially taking about my blackout, it’s literally one of the most artistically complicated tattoos that have ever existed, and will continue to be. It’s fine if it isn’t to your taste, but it’s still art

    • @EphemeralRemy
      @EphemeralRemy  ปีที่แล้ว

      Usually blackouts are done over either offensive or poorly done tattoos, in other cases such as mine it is used as a new canvas for more tattoos, my old tattoos( viewable on this page) we’re considered amazing by most people, but I wasn’t finished with tattooing yet, so I’ve in a way started over. For other reasons I’ve laid out many on my video “the meaning of blackout tattoos”
