Holy cow. I was about to cry, I could not figure this out even after four different tutorials, but yours was the first one that said to twist your thumb down at the end and that helps so much! Thank you!!
I love your tutorials! For someone like me, relatively new to knitting and learning how to do socks from you, this is excellent. Thank you, Kay, for your generous teachings and the time that you share with us.
Yours is the first German twisted cast on video that I was able to follow along with and finally master this skill. Thank you!
Finally, instructions that made sense to me! I had to cast on a large number of stitches and once it clicked, I was flying. Thanks for a great tutorial.
Thanks so much! Just starting my socks this cast on is great cause I wont waste yarn with a long tail! Thanks so much!
Best German-Twisted Cast on turtorial I’ve found! Thank you, Kay 💜
This is a very good tutorial. I have watched other tutorials for the German Twisted Cast On and they were very confusing. You had a good camera angle and you moved slow enough that I was able to follow along until I could pick up the rhythm of the cast on. Thank you for sharing.
As much as I replay your tutorial, over and over, the thumb motion is a mystery. The rest of it I loved. Thank you
OMG Thank you so so very much! I've watched numerous videos that demo this technique, but this is the only one that made sense. Now I can start working on that sweater.
The yarn is beautiful! I would finally make my first Musselburgh
Thank you for this video!! I have watched over 10 and couldn’t get it, your technique of pulling it down more worked for me because I could not see that little window hole! I appreciate this tutorial! ❤
About to expand my horizons and start my first ever top down sock, have been a dedicated toe up knitter. The pattern calls for a German Twisted Cast on. Thanks for a great tutorial.
This was life changing!! Thank you so so much!!
Thank you! I knew once your name came up in the search that you would be the one! I finally got it after several YT searches. ❤️🌟
Awesome tutorial! Thank you for making what seemed a complicated stitch understandable and totally doable!
Thank you so much for making something else confusing into something so easy!!
I got it! Had to watch 3 times and unravel twice but finally figured it out. Thanks for the great tutorial.
This tutorial worked the best for me. Thank you. I now have a nice, stretchy cast on for fingerless gloves I’m making 😃
OMG I just mastered the German Twisted Cast on by watching you tutorial. What a game changer. Thank you so much.
This is a gorgeous cast on for the cuff of a top-down sock. I was shown how to do this in pattern so that I can get the nice twisted stretch over my knits and over my purls when I do 2x2 ribbing.
Finally I found a tutorial for this cast on that I get!😁
Thank you Kay I’ve finally got to grips with this cast on 😊😊
Watching this was very interesting to me. I knit right-handed, but I've been casting on left-handed (I am left-handed...). No wonder I've generally not been satisfied with my cast-on row! I will try and do this cast-on as shown; should be a good brain exercise, at least! :-D
I’m so very grateful to see your videos and I really hope you do more tutorials in the future. Thank you
Awesome 👏🏽 tutorial. I was so happy to catch on so quickly
Thanks Kay. This is the first time I had heard of this. had trouble with the twisting at first. I finally caught on.
I only have done 3 rows so far. I love the way it looks. Do you just do this in socks or can you do this cast on for any thing.
Your tutorial saved my day! I understand you and I learned the Kitchener stitch and finished a sock! Yippee! Now I will try a toe up sock. What is your favorite sock to knit? I’ve never kniTted anything but the gusset type top down sock.
Great video and tutorial, very clear and easy to follow along. I like this cast on a lot now. Thanks for posting!
Thank you, Kay! I was looking at so many videos earlier this year for the German Twisted Cast On for your Round and Round Cowl. I found one out of many that actually got. I was excited to see your version, which is great! I better get back to the cowl :) Thank you for the tutorial :)
Thankyou.
Loved it!! Hope you do more tutorials!!!😃
Hello! Thank you for your tutorials, they are great!. Quick question, do you have a tutorial with the bind off to match this German cast on? Thank you in advance.
Thanks so much Kay!
Çoooook teşekkürler sağlıkla kalın hoşcakalın müthiş🧿🧿🧿❤️
Goodness. Thank you. Watched another slow mo & struggled. This was PERFECT.
Oh my gosh, I finally learned how to do the German twisted cast on. Thanks to your tutorials, I learned how to knit socks. So far this year I've knit six pair. Thank you so much!
Can you suggest a Vanilla Sock in DK.
Thank you Kay!!!
Thank you!!
Thank you
Does it matter if the tail is over the thumb or the index finger?
I have your pattern DK Weight Vanilla Socks is there a tutorial for the heel flap?
Not specifically for the DK. But it’s the same heel flap in all of my sock tutorials.
Where are your free patterns?
Great video! May I ask what is the name of the yarn you used on the completed sock you showed at the very beginning?
Thank you! The yarn is Leaf Peeping by Hypnotic Yarn
This is the same as the Old Norwegian Cast-On.
Can you show how you use a ball winder? I bought one but it tangles at the bottom. Maybe I’m doing it wrong. Also a tutorial about swatching if you’re in the mood for making another video 😁 you’re video was easy to follow. Thanks
No cats meowing in the background.
Thank you, Kay. I know I'll have to return and practice this cast on, at least a few times before I get it down. But, I know it'll be worth it.
Now, I just have to figure out the proper number to cast on for my often swollen legs. Any suggestions for working a slouchier type cuff?
💜✌️🧶
