My husband's feet are different lengths. I think I may start doing this to color code the 2 sides so he can see at a glance which is the longer and shorter of the 2!

I used the same as the contrasting rib and toe. I am doing shorties with one 50 he skein and I like using contrasting so that the socks match better on the small parts.
You never want to just go by how many rounds someone else knit because everyone’s gauge varies. So you always want to measure as you go to see what works for your gauge. ❤️
What kind of scale do you use to measure a small quantity of yarn such as the 0.6 gm you used for this heel. Most scales don’t weigh very accurately for such small amount of yarn?
