Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (1992) was the game that introduced the Super Dash Attack. The ability, referred to as Spin Dash in later games, has become one of the most beloved features of the series and, indeed, one of the most prominent features of the speedrunning scene as a whole.
In this exhilarating movie, Aglar ( tasvideos.org/... ) & Zurggriff ( tasvideos.org/... ) speed their way through this classic's varied acts making good use of Spin Dashes to finish them in record time. The authors also control Tails - Sonic's two-tailed foxy buddy - to allow for even faster routes and making shorter work of bosses.
This is an improvement of 00:12.90 seconds over the predecessor movie ( tasvideos.org/... ).
We have a run where Knuckles ( tasvideos.org/... ) replaces the main characters and finishes the game in record time, and another run where he goes for the max rings ( tasvideos.org/... ) challenge.
We also have movies in Sonic the Hedgehog ( tasvideos.org/... ), Sonic the Hedgehog CD ( tasvideos.org/... ) and Sonic 3 & Knuckles ( tasvideos.org/... ).

Kio The Hedgehog basically it’s a speed run. These guys were most likely practicing for months getting the level layout, strategies to use, glitches to take advantage of, etc. long story short, it takes months of practice to do a proper speed run, especially when it comes to pixel perfect moments used in some of these clips.
The entire time watching this I just thought "tails is so cute when he's helping"

He's just a cute character altogether
This has to be the best TAS of Sonic 2 I've ever seen. So cinematic, so much personality...I could literally feel the dialogue and hypothetical conversations Sonic and Tails were having throughout the run. Heck, at times, I was even waiting for the acts to finish (which would notably take less than half a minute) so I could see the end-of-act skits, such as playing tag, or trying to out-moonwalk each other. Absolutely Awesome. I'm glad I found this!
Yes, it was like one of those fan animations that uses the game sprites and backgrounds, but this is the actual game, which is all the more funny and impressive. Best TAS I've ever seen.👍

Literally the best sonic 2 playthrough I have EVER seen, cinematics, personality, and speed combined make this, A masterpiece.
Look at the pair having fun breaking the laws of physics and jumping and dancing in sync every Goal Sign and Capsule.
Never, in any of my runs, has Tails been so fast and so much a part of this run as Sonic himself and it's clear when it's just Tails on screen doing things or Tails assisting Sonic in Mystic Caves Zone.

The title screen is hilarious, tails just appears in a black void for a split second with one drum sound, then the game just starts, the same way all other games should.
I love the little bit at the end of Mystic Cave act 1 where Tails is looking for Sonic and then Sonic walks up behind him and he jumps up, like, a foot in the air out of shock
