@@rhwoodshop Thank you for your great videos. I probably would never have thought about those cans if not for this video. Great tips and ideas make me want to get back in the shop... when it warms up a bit!
Accuspray turbine 3 large units and 3 smaller units. 2 Fuji Q4. Also 3M Accuspray PPS first generation. Any lacquer that I mix up goes into a non lined metal can. non Teflon coating inside the can. When 3M salesman approached me about switching over to the new spray gun set up I tried it. It sprayed OK not as good as good as the accuspray gun that I have but my workers had talked me into trying the gun out I told them I did not care for the way the front of the gun attached and could easily pop off. About a year or 2 later They redesigned the front of the gun to where it now has a screw on attachment to keep it from coming off.
Whatever happened to the wood working group you were helping to try and start up? I really enjoyed the video today; it was helpful. See you in the next video. God Bless my friend.
A lot of them kind of went their separate ways. I hope one day we can get the old group back together. It would be a lot of fun. Thank You!!! I am glad you liked the video.
I use Gemini pre cat and post cat lacquers. I use polycrylic on top of water base latex enamels since solvent based cannot be used. You can use waterborne finishes on top of water based products. Solvent based cannot be used as it promotes blushing.
Just started using my Earlex 5500 and love it. Sprayed my Miter station with Polycrylic and should be done with the drawers this week. I did buy an extra cup for easy cleaning, but the caps are impossible to find. Does it have to do with the non-stick interior that could dissolve? That's what I've read, but maybe others have a different experience.
Troy Meredith With very limited experience on the Earlex systems I really can’t give you a good answer on that one. Unfortunately, that may be just some research you’ll have to do. An option for the caps could be saran wrap and a rubber band.
I checked the Amazon store and I cant seem to find the 1qt cup lid while spraying that you have in the video with the holder on top. Could you send over the link.
Derek Asbury Oh you’re talking about the little slip cups that I put on my sprayer cans, not the auger lids. Those unfortunately I cannot get on Amazon because they are not available. You will need to talk to Fuji directly to get those. You can reach out to them through Facebook or Instagram or I believe you can buy them directly from their website. They are limited supply because they have changed the cup design so the lids now won’t fit the new cups. Once they are gone they are gone.
Watching you stir paint around in a fancy mixing device teaches me nothing about mixing paint. I still don't know what ratios to use for different types of paint and what to use (water? paint thinner?).
I would not deep fuji gun into the solvent for cleaning, there are seals inside that can get damaged and they normally have no contact with solvent in the gun they are behind the gun spring.
This was water-based enamel so whatever you thin your medium with, is what you use to clean. So water was used to clean the gun. Anything that I could not get out with water, I did dip in lacquer thinner because it eats away water based enamel paint.
Where to buy extra spray canisters w lids? Loved this. Much thx
Exactly! I can’t find the lids/caps anywhere! Please tell us where to find them
Good job Drew especially the tip to buy "extra" spray canisters. That will make "finishing day" much easier and faster.
Yes it will! I have 4 and it makes it so much easier!

Can you please please tell me where to find those orange canister caps ! Those would be incredibly helpful
Great vid. Wouldn't even think about using my HVLP without a pps system. Have a Q5 Platinum👌 Also, what happened to part 2, couldn't find it anywhere.
Very useful tips. I especially like the Mixing Mate Drew!
Thank you Carl. So glad you liked it.
Very good presentation, thumbs up!
Thank you. I like the finishing vids.

Now back to watching/learning 😀
I can’t remember what I thought part two would be but you’ll probably be interested in the upcoming video on Friday. Keep watching!
Haven't delved into any spraying other than rattle cans, but it definitely sounds like good info to know when I do!
I’ve got a couple videos on spraying finish. Hopefully whenever you do decide to give it a try, my videos can help you out a little bit.

Great info. What lacquer are you spraying and when do you use lacquer vs polycrylic? Thank

Are you talking about the liners that are inside the cup?
@@rhwoodshop It's not a liner; the cups are coated with a non-stick (PTFE) interior (black). Earlex cups are like this.

It looks very similar to the gallon lid. It is there but I will see if I can send you over an individual link. Give me a bit
@@rhwoodshop sounds good. It was the red one used during spraying. Thanks man

Thank You!!!
I don't even own one but TH-cam said I need to be here lol
Sir. Your links for the canisters and lidsare useless.
Don’t put your gun in cleaner. Disassemble the metal parts. And soak. Wipe gun. Bad practice to soak gun.
