- In this video, I will be showing you how to spray clear coat with a Fuji Mini Mite 5. I will be demonstrating step by step how to set up your system to get a good finish on your parts.

There is fella on TH-cam that painted his car black he used the semi pro 2 and got really great results with his clear coat and the semi pro 2 only runs at 5 psi, the mini mite 5 runs at 9.5 psi. These systems are pretty great.....oh and he used the stock cap and needle 1.3
Great job. I would like to see more technique videos using the fuji system. Can you do some demos of bases, pearls and metallics? You have mastered clear. Thanks for an awesome video

Just bought an Apollo system that was a used unit, but in great shape. It has a digital readout and u can adjust the pressure it puts out. My plan is to replace the compressor and my old guns with the turbine system. The big thing for me is unlimited air, no waiting on my tank to fill, less overspray and its supposed to save on paint. And paint has gotten expensive. I will probably record some footage of the turbine in use and post it in about a month because there are a lot fewer videos painting with turbines. 👍

I have posted a few short videos showing the results on a couple vehicles I did and spraying sealer. I need to do a video showing spraying clear because like you said, that's where people think a turbine will fail. But if you find the right method, it can do great

I see you are using the 3M H/O cup but are you using a liner inside? I couldn't tell, but it didnt appear that you were. Very nice job on the painting!!! 👍

I use the liner always. The outer cup is just to for measuring and to hold the liner.
I have a q5, not sure what I'm doing wrong I'm getting solvent pops, this only happen with turbine system, I use .8 for base/clear and 1 1/2 turn fluid, full fan is the current set up, also change to slow reducer in temps around 77f. Same thing happen. Use same clear with my tekna no solvent pops. Any suggestions?
To eliminate solvent pops I would suggest making sure to always clean the surface well and to make sure that you give enough flushing time in between coats. If you're applying base, make sure that you give at least 10-15 minutes in between. Don't apply the coats too heavy at first, always go for a light coat, just enough that it flushes. For your clear coat, make sure that you allow at least 10 minutes before doing a second coat. Slow reducer for your base coat is exactly what I use, make sure that you always do that.
solvent pop is because you're laying too much material and with out not enough flash time in between coats, you have to train your self to be patient.
You mean pull hold Tigger and turn out 21/2 turn out ??
I see this in so many videos when people are setting up there guns. When you say "1 and 1/2 " turns. The way it looks like us as if you are actually turning it 3 or 4 turns. Is there a number display on the knob ir gun to show this settings?
Also how does this compare with a normal compressor and spraygun system?
So the number if passes when you spray paint or clear etc..with a regular compressor and hvlp gun vs with this turbine system?

Hi there,
To answer your question on the dial. The knob doesn’t have numbers on it, but it does have a line on it. With it you guide yourself as to how many turn you turn to that line if that make sense. As for the difference between an air compressor and the turbine it’s a huge difference. The psi that you get from the turbine it’s only 9psi and with it you can actually spray basically whatever you want as long as you know that the fluid is coming out at a slower pressure, therefore you have to know how to apply your paint.
I would not go back to a compressor anymore for the simple fact that I like the turbine unit more since there is no maintenance to do to it as you do to a compressor. Hope that helps and answer your questions.
I knew to fugi system what turbine are you using I got a Apollo 3 it doesn't seem to have anofy air pressure you have problems with solvent pop
I’m using a Mini mite 5 turbine. Solvent pops come from not allowing the solvents to evaporate on time in between coats. It has nothing to do with how or what system you use.
How close to do get to the panel when spraying
As close as you would with a conventional set up. 5-7 inches
For that t75 graco gun what # of 3M adapter are you using ? By the way your English is pretty 👍 good
Lol. Thanks for your comment. But it’s not a gravo gun. It’s a Fuji gun that comes with the system

the 3M adapter for 2.0 series for Fuji T75 gravity spray gun is 26003 and 16003 is for legacy series
I have the Fuji Mini Mite 5 with the T75G gun. I tried spraying Sherwin Williams AIP302 epoxy primer 2 days ago. Paint data sheet says to use 0.8-1.4mm nozzle at 8-14 oz/min at 10 psi. I wasn't too sure on how to translate that for a turbine system. I tried the 1.3 mm aircap/nozzle with air value opening all the way. Hardly any material came out. I switched to the 1.8 mm nozzle. Results were really bad. Got serious orange peel on the everything I sprayed.
Any advice on how to spray epoxy primer with this system?
If your epoxy primer in not thinned out for the system to spray then it won’t work. Remember that if the material you’re using it’s thick for a system that only gives you 9psi it’s going to be to hard to come out due to the pressure. That’s why you need to thin it as much as it’s allowed.
Did you use your measure cup when you mixed your paint? If not, I advise you to do so. Let me know how you do with it?
@@quickfinishsolution2483 I did use a measuring cup. Sherwin Williams specified 3 levels of reduction for this primer. I chose the middle one. Probably should have chosen the one with the most reducer. What nozzle size do you use for epoxy primer?
I still need to do the base and clear coats. It's getting a bit too cold to spray here in the Northeast where I live. But we are supposed to get 3 days in the low 60s next week. I'll do the base and clear using your technique. Thanks for posting.
I would use a 1.5 or 1.8 tip
It really depends on how thick the paint is.
But I have always used 1.3 - 1.5 tip. That’s just my preference.
@@quickfinishsolution2483 I sprayed the Sherwin Williams clear with the 1.0 tip. I used 1-1/2 turns on the fluid control for all coats. I put on 3 coats and got orange peel on many areas. I'm wondering if the Sherwin Williams clearcoat is a bit thicker than what you're using. Also, is it possible that I'm not putting on enough paint by moving the gun too fast? Any ideas on what may be causing the problem?

I don’t thin down my clear material. All I do is mix it 4:1
4 part clear and 1 part hardener. It’s called Matrix MSV-21

Somebody told me on whip hose valve to adjust or leave it full open ?? Please it that true of false???
True. I leave mine fully open to get as much air flow.

I use 1.3 for all my base coats and 0.8- 1.0 for clear coats.
@@quickfinishsolution2483 what difference you find on 1.3 for the base coat? I use 1.0 mm for base and then just pour in the clear coat. I also hace the minimite 5 and sprays very nice on cars, wheels or whatever you need to paint, great system
